Two year old Kenmore Elite stopped keeping food cold. Called Sears for a fix, no appointment avail for 3 1/2 weeks. Also advised I had to pay for labor. (labor to fix a problem of bad design by LG ) We babysit four grand-kids under the age of 5, and that was not acceptable. Called outside appliance tech, he advised he could not fix as it was most likely the compressor, he said the LG compressors were junk and he had calls all day long on this problem. Also advised LG had a new style for the fix, but If he fixed it, it would void the 10 year warranty LG provides on their compressors. The job would also cost me over $1300.00. I paid $2400.00 for this thing that's twice what I ever paid for my Ge's that never failed. I know Sears is hurting and that's another reason I let the salesman talk me into this unit and not the GE. My Grandparents, father and ourselves have always supported Sears by buying their appliances. Well this comes to an end now, no more Sears ANYTHING! I had to go out and purchase a second hand refer for $200 and put in my garage. Its fun living out of the garage.
