NSF Fees

I purchased a brand new vehicle in May 2017 with Chase Auto as my lender and was being charged 11% interest. I got an account with SSFCU just days after because I was told by many that they would be able to get me refinanced faster and cheaper than anyone else. As a new customer, everything was good and I was satisfied with the way things were going. After about 7 months, I decided to try and refinance and so I called to inquire. Everything seemed to be going fine and the initial interview was easy and I felt comfortable and confident everything was gonna be taken care of and that my request would go through without any major hindrances. After my first interview, they were to call me back in 2 hours for a second interview with a loan officer. 2 hours past and immediately after greeting the caller, or loan officer, the comfort and confidence I had was gone just by the tone of her voice. She made it clear that i was wasting her time, and that she was very busy assisting the customers who were more credit worthy and serious about their relationship with the credit union. At some point, I had heard enough of what this $%#@ thought of my financial situation and my disrespect to her craft by even applying, and I told her what someone somewhere a long long time ago shouldve told her to avoid the breaking news of heartache and proper placement she had just begun to endure. After the formalities and F-bombs came to a close, I decided the conversation was finished after giving her nothing to cling to as for a rebuttal. I told her the conversation was over while she lost the script and let fly her finest vulgarities and asked repeatedly "why?", "why MF'er?", "why?" Like a 4 year old sailor!!!. She was asking why I was ending the conversation as if to say she had the upper hand in the telephonic beat down that just took place, but was merely trying to save face by being stupid. I calmly told her that my reasoning behind the decision to end the call by far superceded in importance her questioning and protest against it, so she hung up. Very classy!

That very same day I noticed that after I identified myself, the conversations became very rushed and unfriendly to flat out disrespectful. I had made an additional call to exercise my right and request a statement of why I was turned down for the refinance of my vehicle, as the woman I had just dealt with obviously didn't have time and hung up on me. Later that afternoon, I went into a nearby branch and again, as soon as I identified myself, a different, much ruder representative came from behind the monitor. Personally, I do not care what their issue is with me because I didnt get an account with them for that. They are to oversee the finances i deposit at my discretion and disperse my finances at my direction. Nothing more! Unfortunately, SSFCU does not carry that sentiment or do they respect my best interests.

A few days later, I checked my account online and noticed several NSF fees at a $32.50 charge per transaction. I figured there was some kind of mistake and called immediately to get it resolved. They did so and everything was back to normal, or so I thought. I explained to the lady that I do not want overdraft protection of any kind!!! Ever!!! Do NOT charge me for an Auto draft that I am unaware of and that they (SSFCU) are not authorized to ever apply to my account any draft without my consent! Ever!!! It snowballed quickly after that and has left me where I am now. Since this began about 2 months ago, I have been charged almost $700.00 in NSF fees, plus the late fees, and return check fees charged by Chase Auto. What's more, this has happened on my truck payments 3 consecutive times, or 3 months coincidentally. That gives chase auto the ability to run the Auto draft for a second time each month totaling $65.00 IF, they only run it once, then twice for good measure which is inevitably charging me again for an NSF fee as well as a return payment charge of $30.00 per attempt by Chase auto. After several attempts to try and right the wrongs they've commited against me over the phone, I went in person. I was told that they offer a "first time forgiveness" personal loan to accommodate those who like myself are inept and irresponsible with their finances and shouldnt be allowed to count change on their own. One of the perks is the reprimanding guidelines they put in place. My debit card was cancelled or rendered useless unless I came into the branch. No debits, no ATM's, no online orders at christmas time, no emergency room visits using that debit card. Period! That being said, hypothetically, if i were to lose a finger saturday evening working in the yard, I'd have to wait until Monday morning to go to the nearest branch to make a withdrawal if allowed to, just to go to the emergency room to have my finger put back on. Does that hypothetical sound childish and stupid?
Yes, it does! Their policy made it possible so lets keep the focus where it belongs please. So, with little to no other option I agreed and signed the paperwork. I signed to pay a loan for fees they initiated at their will at my expense and inconvenience, as well as my embarrasment. Chase Auto is now threatening me with repossession and have accelerated their loan, leaving me in a very precarious spot in regards to my future and livelihood. Not because I dont, or didn't have the money in my account, but because I chose the wrong FEDERAL CREDIT UNION. Everyday, I check the mail only to find another letter from SSFCU notifying me of another NSF fee being charged to my already overdrawn account. And chase auto letters of how the late fees have increased my interest rates up to 28%

This is happening through no fault of my own. I say this because Chase Auto is due on the 3rd of every month and each month before I give them authorization of a 1 time draft on my account, I ensure the money is there. SSFCU places a hold on the allocated funds approved for Chase Auto as well as my deposits, thus vacating my account of the appropriate funds. Here as of late, Chase Auto has begun attempting to collect funds as they see fit and when they deem necessary. Much to SSFCU's delight I'm certain of it. Roughly 6-7 days after Ive authorized payment to Chase Auto, SSFCU waits for me to make a withdrawal at the branch for gas, or a phone bill, etc.,thinking my account is in order because it should be and would be if I weren't being robbed blind by the very people I've asked to protect it. Meanwhie, unbeknownst to me they intentionally, repeatedly sabotage that trust. As soon as my account balance is within range, they run Chase Auto among others at their disposal placing me over the balance on each and at $32.50 each. This is organized crime at it's finest, and who is going to listen to me? I'm just one person, soon to be without everything I've worked for, for 25+ years. All because I had a voice and placed that $%^! where she belonged? That cant be why, and i refuse to believe any kind of conspiracy against me. SSFCU is just evil scum that steal more than they can ever eat. These $32.50 charges may seem miniscule to some people, but if you have 2-3 a day for a week, you'll feel it and it hurts. SSFCU has refused to desist this practice and has disallowed me to close the account with it being overdrawn. No explanation has been or can be given for this onslaught of my world. Trust me, if I'm taking the time to write this letter, I've taken the time to request that they stop screwing me for 5 minutes so i can eat breakfast. Even if I was just unhappy with SSFCU, would I take the time to write this? For What? What would I gain in doing so? This is much more than being unhappy! This is being destroyed! Its truly saddening because i naturally have always enjoyed my life, and have lived with an honest approach to everyone with fairness and integrity. So I am not accustomed to the illegal practice of extortion for under the radar wages. Another practice of organized crime. For the people who are conducting these practies, no matter the capacity, even if you're just pushing a button as you were instructed to do, you are just as guilty as the scum of the earth that has no problem cashing the checks of $32.50 and direct from my account, and I hate you! Attached you will find just a few of the many NSF fee slips mailed out to me on a daily basis and I haven't even made a transaction on that account in over 2 weeks. I appreciate you not even having the decency to date these for accounting purposes on my end, but what does it matter of my accounting when you just write checks for me anyway? Also, thanks for the vague description of the rejected paychecks for $2500.00 at $15.00 each. My being paid for 8 days work alone would have helped me stay afloat, but your greed overwhelms my deserving of survival, so feel free to add your $15.00 fee charged to me for being out $2500.00. Im sure glad you've had my back! Now i know where the knife came from. Some may think I'm being overly dramatic, but this ain't a F%$#@& game!!! This is my livelihood! Was, my livelihood... you'll just have to find someone else to F$%& to death. This matter is now behind me, as the contemplation of suicide has overcome my day to day matters of importance. You've made it easier to consider after facing your corrupt dealings, assisting my hopelessness and tearing apart my trust in the good things life can bring. I sure hope no one at SSFCU sheds a tear for me on that idea after I've given you everything I had against my will. Isn't that what you wanted???. You earned it! You won! Well done! Well played!
