I lost a large amount of weight and the past three years I searched for a plastic surgeon. I found one in Miami Florida and schedule my surgery. My surgery date was 10/2/2018, it was a package deal called mommy make over. It’s two surgery in one, the price was right so why not. Ok I was told by my employer to file a claim with Sedgwick, a medical leave. So I did, I was sent paperwork to fill out and return. I returned the paperwork a week later called to check my status, I was told the claims was put in the system as a intermittent leave and was denied. So I opened another claims for disability . Sedgwick sent paperwork thati got filled out over 10 times and emailed it before the deadline. I was told close to the deadline they didn’t receive it. I drove 4 hours to the clinic for the paperwork it was the same that’s emailed. So I resent it again and was told that the doctor didn’t send the paperwork, so the clinic sent to me I faxed and emailed it. Then follow up with my claims status to be told it was denied because the medical doctor paperwork didn’t support the disability . I don’t understand why not when I was cut across my abdomen and breast surgery, I couldn’t walk straight almost six weeks. A surgery is a surgery regardless of what kind. I worked for my company 17 years and getting money taken out for short term disability to be denied. My bills are behind about to loss things and my bank over draft. Sedgwick isn’t concern about the struggle I am in, they approve my time off but the money part denied. Why they didn’t denied it all. Clearly they knew I did a surgery. Something isn’t right, I did my part faxing paperwork the whole month and still get denied. I couldn’t work at all I can’t believe a company as this would hurt people and have them lose what they worked hard for. Something needs done about Sedgwick, the so called phone specialist Isn’t knowledgeable and they are rude unprofessional . I can’t believe this company I told One of the specialist that I did faxed my paperwork and she said re-fax it because they never received it. She didn’t even check to see, I was pushed off the phone. Seriously nothing should be done over the phone and they should be more knowledgeable.
