injury

I was injured on the job while working for Advance Auto Parts. Their workers comp TPA is Sedgwick Ins. This insurance company is the worst company to deal with because of a work related injury. Advance Auto Parts needs to be awarded 5 gold stars for using this company as their TPA. I have a problem with the employees of Sedgwick that would stoop so low as to have no regards for the pain a person is in as a result of a work related injury. I even requested that a case worker and nurse give me their cell phone # so I could call them at 2 a.m. when I can not sleep due to pain.I injured my neck and blew c3 disc as result of injury, they denied surgery twice. They only authorized surgery because they did not want to be in a lawsuit. In the mean time I sat for 14 months in constant pain. After 14 mos and they finally approved surgery they cut off my comp checks because their dr. said I was 100% medically improved, No x-rays or mri's were done after a 3 stage cervical fusion. There is a window where I can request another Dr for a second opinion and they keep stalling. In the meantime I still have problems with my neck and it effects my shoulder and collar bone and I can not go to a Dr. for treatment because Sedgwick Ins will not respond and my health care insurance will not pay because it is a work related injury. Finally have had to turn over to a workman comp attorney and we are in the process of filing a lawsuit against Advance Auto Parts. In the meantime I have been in pain that can be avoided, any one who works for Sedgwick Ins Co have to really be hard up for a job and are very mean and cruel people who I hope can sleep well at night as I cant and they have no morals or compassion. Work man comp laws need to be severely changed in the state of Alabama. The judges also in the state of Alabama also lean more to the employer and not the injured employee and I really believe that the employers in Alabama apparently have the judges in their back pockets. So many times I have wished that this injury had not been reported to workmans comp because I have had to go through hell but my supervisor told me by state law a work related injury had to be reported and I am in a rock and a hard place because I received an injury on the job.
