Servpro Northeast Greenville

I hired servpro contractor Carl Holcombe I thought he would be okay since our homeowner insurance use them but I was wrong the whole 7 months he wasn't truthful on some things.to make a long story short he tried to charge us some money that we knew we didn't owe we had a very strong disagreement in the end he wrote out a contract with a 5 years warranty on it.in case we have some kind of default on their behalf it hasn't been a year yet since we moved back in our home we have a defect on our kitchen floor one of the porcelain title has came a loose don't seem to work properly we call his office and he will dodge us and tell his secretary lies that he is going to fix the problem after the 4 try we knew he wasn't going to do right I call the franchise corp office they call him and he acknowledge that he gave us a contract but the reason he didn't fix the promblem was because we owe him some money which was another lie to get out of his obligation I don't want to deal with him anymore and hope and pray nothing will ever happen to our home again because I would not recommend him to nobody

Overcharged, broke items

They overcharged my insurance. They broke things and told me to have my insurance pay for it. They said that's what the insurance was for. Did not do all they charged for. Do not use these people they will rob you blind. also ruined an antique table. They do not want to take responsibility for anything.

charged for things not done, shoddy work, outrageous charges

I was told by my contractor to call Servpro for a little mold remediation in a bathroom. I was charged over $6100 for taking down a 10 x 10 bathroom ceiling and 2 - 2 1/2 ft squares in a bedroom. They charged over $1500 to Hepa vacuum a 12x14 bedroom and a 10 x 12 bedroom. They listed 4200 sq ft to Hepa vac. The whole house is only 2200 sq ft and that includes a wood floor hall, kitchen, laundry, and 4 tile baths. They also charged $125 to clean a sliding glass door, hundreds of dollars to supposedly clean a Jacuzzi tub, 2 sink vanity and toilet. This is a beach house, which was winterized for the Jersey cold winter. No water on since the pipes were blown out so they wouldn't break. They didn't clean anything. They charged my credit card for the balance without even talking to me first. I went down to see what they did the day after they said the work was completed. I drove over 220 miles round trip to find the house was a mess from them taking down the ceiling and not cleaning. They charged something like $18 to clean a toilet, which had black scum from being winterized with chemicals. When I called the supervisor and told him he was mistaken the house was never cleaned, a blind was laying on the dresser and the dresser, tables, TV, etc had white dust from the drywall being cut. Over $3000 charged to clean and with that outrageous charge, they didn't clean a thing -- not even vacuum for the $1500. They charged $86 to "clean" a $19 flower arrangement and another $86 to clean a $10 wooded fish! He said it was clean or it wouldn't have passed inspection -- inspection by whom? I have pictures to prove nothing was cleaned.
They didn't even reattach my triple door vertical blind. In June I had another contractor come out to install the 10 x 10 ceiling that Servpro wanted an additional $4000 to install. I paid $1100 from contractor who also installed new lights. The 15 ft vertical blind was never attached to the wall, they just put the unit over the top of the brackets without screwing it in. My first house guest this season, went to pull the blinds closed for the evening and the 15 ft blind hit her in the head. It's a good thing it didn't hit a child. She has a gash and lump on her head, I emailed the supervisor and requested him to call me the next morning. No return call. This just happened last night and I don't have anyone to reinstall this. Serpro charges absorbent amounts and then does 't even do what they charged for. I asked the supervisor to come out to view the house after I checked it and knew no clean-up was done. He said he would, but never showed up or returned a call. How can they still be in business? Why are they allowed to be able to continue their practice of outrageous charges, not even doing the work they charged to do, and leaving a bigger mess than before they started? ALSO, the mold remediation reports had a wrong street address and the mold analysis was higher after.
DON'T EVEN THINK A OUT USING SERVPRO - SAVE YOUR MONEY. I wish I read these complaints prior to my hiring them.

poor carpet cleaning

I had a hall toilet leak which required workman coming in and out of the house. Although they put down some cover in the hall, the carpeting there was soiled, as was that of an adjacent room into which the plumbers decided to store items. I decided to get this carpet cleaned, and while I was at it get the living and dining rooms done as well.

So, I called the "best" in the business. Right? An agent came to the house, I got an estimate and set up the cleaning. The two workmen arrived at 9 AM on a Friday. The cleaning took 2 hours and when they announced the job was complete, the carpeting appeared (and was) still soiled and WET. I asked them for fans. They had none, but told me the carpeting would be dry in 'a couple of hours'. [two days and two fans later they were still wet]. I called the office to speak with the agent. She told me that, upon returning to the shop it was discovered that the "filter was stopped up and that is why the carpeting was wet". What? You don't check your equipment? Well, I was informed, it was the last guy who used it. They would be at the house at 9 AM Monday to re-do the job. I had previously told the agent I was going in for surgery in three days, and the date was not convenient. They showed up anyhow.

I told the workmen to look at the carpeting. It was painfully obvious that there was soil and soap [or as the owner told me, high quality cleaning solution---we don't use soap] in the carpet and I showed them where I had removed water and dirt.

So, six weeks later, the workmen returned. I told them two things: NO CLEANING SOLUTION WATER ONLY, and FANS, at least 3 to dry the carpets. They came without fans, but I told them to get some; they called someone who brought 2 fans. So they go about the job, I told them WATER only. Yes ma'am. Then they put up the fans, saying they would be back for them at 5 PM. The carpet was extremely wet and appeared to be still soiled. So at 2 PM the workmen returned saying "they told us to come get the fans". Again, it took me three days to dry the carpets. ANDTHEY REMAIN SOILED. THE WORKMEN USED SOAP AGAIN!

When I spoke with the owner of the franchise he told me "I don't know why they came to get the fans. We have a whole warehouse full of fans." He wanted to send those guys out AGAIN. No way. My $200 was refunded but does not come close to the damage done to my $6,000 worth of carpeting.

I hesitated to send this but I feel that this group of folks needs to be reported as they give an extremely bad name to the company. My next step is unclear, depending upon your response.
