Our house in Tahoe has Sierra Pacific Windows. While under warranty, we needed to replace five windows due to moisture between the panes. At first the company employees were very nice and easy to work with.

My problem with them is that it took FIVE different visits and around 12 months for them to complete the repairs. Each time there was a problem. I was okay with it and worked with them to reschedule each time.

The last time it was done, was winter. When the snow melted, I saw damage around the trim boards where the glass was replaced. They said that they replace the glass from the inside, not the outside, and took no responsibility. They agreed that the damage could not have been weather or anything else.

The only reason to work in that space was for the glass, yet they took no responsibility and told me that it is just a mystery. They could not give me any other reasons why the trim was damaged right where the nails are that hold the trim up.

Looks like someone tried to remove the trim by taking nails out, but the wood splintered.

They did not help me fix this, and yet agreed with me that no other worker would need to access that area, and it was not weather either.

A real mystery, all right.

I would not recommend this company to anyone. They do not help you when there is a problem.

Do not trust them to do work on your house when you are not there. They told me that they do this all the time and that they take full responsibility however when a problem came up they said it was a mystery!

Considering how much money was spent on their windows and French doors in my entire house when it was built, I think they should have better customer service.

Do not trust this company. They do not care about their customers.

I spent over 40k on Sierra Pacific windows for a high end spec home. They make a home look nice with their exterior reveal! They do have two definite problems. The first is the building process of these windows at the factory. The assembly line workers get silicone finger prints all over the bare wood window frames and the veneer panels of the doors. It's so impregnated into the wood, it can't be sanded away. This wouldn't have been as noticeable if a clear or natural stain had been used. The interior decorator chose dark colors. Stain does not absorb into silicone plugged wood grain and pores! It looked like hell with light colored finger prints everywhere the silicone blocked the stain absorption. It looked like a bunch of preschool kids were let loose in the factory to do finger painting with silicone. I'm not exaggerating and have many photos! I called and the rep showed up mad at me. Blame the customer for factory problems?? I had to force them to take half of the product back with a lawyer writing them a letter. Did it help? NO! They still had silicone all over the wood! The third try had over 10 quality control workers initials on the shipping boxes! The second problem is scheduling their warranty worker. He did great work once on site, but the no shows and reschedules were not acceptable. I'm not a corner cutting fly by night general contractor. I was awarded contractor of the year in my area for 2010. This window company could be a great competitor to Marvin and Pella if they would fix these two areas of short comings. It has to come from owners giving a hoot and hiring workers that take pride in their work too!
