INSTALLATION OF FAST RUNNING METERS
I am poor resident of Islamabad residing in House No.1060, Street No.95, Sector I-10/1, Islamabad. My SNGPL Consumer ID Number is 04020430007. My gas consumption is very limited. I have stopped using the geezer for that last about five years and use the gas for cooking for my small family maximum for one hour in the morning and one in the evening, and rarely use the Gas Heater to keep the gas bill within limits of my financial capacity.
After its failure to control gas theft, the government utility (SGPL) is installing new fast running meters that show around five times more units as compared to actual gas consumption, to recover the highly inflated bills from consumers. The government entities have turned into a hideous looting machine. It is learnt that incumbent Government has tasked the SNGPL authorities to generate additional revenue in such a subtle way that no one could come on roads. To achieve this target, the SNGPL authorities have come up with this unique idea of installing fast running meters, an awful adventure of massive loot, to fetch hefty amounts against overbilling from consumers through newly installed meters. For the last about three months after the replacement of Gas Meter I am receiving bill almost five times more bill than my actual consumption. Installing five times more fast running meters is in fact a theft. Enhance the gas rates if additional funds are required to company instead of such dishonest and unethical behavior.
Is the regulator would set an example out of routine or tradition of imposition of small penalties against blatant violation of the OGRA Ordinance? Who would awake the OGRA from its deep slumber as a long time has been consumed till this effect where the over burdened consumers have to bear the brunt of SNGPL the OGRA as well?
It is requested to replace the newly installed meter at an early date.
