Our one year old puppy Chihuahua Corgi Mix

Pecan Branch - Sun Communities, INC
We have gone to the office to resolve this matter but manager never available. I have called the office several times and nobody is any help. So I went up to the office because they say they will call you back but they don’t. Until I show up and an employee greets me outside the office. Then I have to call them because nobody calls you back with the info you need. Until they see you upset and then the computer doesn’t work to give me the information and the boss goes on vacation. In the pass there was good management before Terra but lately they seem not to be able to keep staff and it keeps changing. Most of the time nobody knows nothing in the office.

Dear Sun Communities, Inc.
This is an attempt to make a formal complaint on our behalf. We feel at this time we have a just cause for submittal of a particular accusation that should if not violate our rights as residents of the pecan branch community. This complaint is regarding our 1 year old puppy named “Kevin”. Kevin is a corgi/chihuahua mix male dog. On Saturday June 13, 2020 our dog got loose and startled another resident in the community. Another resident assisted our kids in getting Kevin back into our house. The startled resident contacted the pecan branch office about our dog and accused Kevin of biting her and scratching up her small dog. I (Ron) was contacted by the office Manager with this incident and was told they would be investigating the case and would give me a call with their answer to what we need to do. On June 26 we received a call from management (Terra) stating we had to get rid of Kevin immediately due to being aggressive. That same day took him to a local animal shelter and explained what happened and our Kevin accepted. Obviously if he is an aggressive dog we can’t keep him. At the animal shelter he received an assessment for 3 days and was adopted within that week ( by the way, aggressive dogs are not eligible for adoption). Their assessment indicated that he was hyper, playful, happy dog but dislikes cats. The animal shelter assured me he wouldn’t last long there. My wife has been extremely involved with this situation from the beginning. She also called the office and explained they had made a mistake. You see, my wife spoke to that neighbor and asked her “What did my dog do to you that day? (My wife is searching closure) The neighbor stated that she was afraid and startled but was not bitten or nothing was done to her dog. My wife with the new information given by the neighbor began to cry and explain to the neighbor that our dog is no longer with us because of her. The neighbor apologized and asked if we can call to the office to retrieve our dog but the animal shelter had him adopted within the week. Here the deal Sun Communities Inc, there is definitely a major failure on your policy or the way things were handled in this situation. (1) We were never given time or opportunity to react to the decision made by your organization. (2) We were never shown proof of pictures that the lady had in fact been bitten at all. (3) We were never call to the office to give our report or sign anything concerning this debacle! I would assuming sun communities/pecan branch would want all documents in place instead of a simple call with your decision without proof of any kind. We can do nothing for our puppy Kevin at this point but we must live everyday with this injustice we are enduring. We are dog lovers and have even assisted the same neighbor in locating her dog twice. Once again I reiterate that this is our attempt to make a formal complaint. Our desire is that we would receive a call, email or letter from Sun Communities Inc concerning your thoughts and action with the information stated in this letter.
Sincerely yours,
Ron & Celsa Menchaca
