Failed to provide proper account structure to IRS
TaxAct eFile Instruction indicated IRS has accepted my Tax Return, and "A direct withdrawal of the balance due has been submitted to the IRS and should occur on March 31, 2018.". However, that transaction never took place. I have contacted TaxAct numerous times, 3 Customer Reps told me the same thing -- to contact their Partner (Value Payment Systems) to resolve the payment issue. I wasted so many days on the phone and email dialogs with both TaxAct and VPS. Eventually I received a letter from IRS, indicate the payment rejection reason as "INVALID ACCOUNT NUMBER STRUCTURE". TaxAct has a software glitch, although they let me "select" a particular account for the payment, it failed to provide the proper account number structure to IRS.
