recouped payment to provider
EOB for my husband's hip repair reflected payment to provider in April 2017.
However, after more than a year recently received a bill for over $95,000 from a collection agency.
I have spoken with Tomball Regional Director and have been told that Texan Plus RECOUPED the paid amount and have requested medical records!!! This over a year later and after the bill had already been paid.
Now we are getting harassed by collection for a bill Texan Plus is responsible for!!
This falls under the category of Deceptive Trade Practices Act and walks a very thin line toward outright fraud.

new rewards program novu
Many seniors do not like new company rewards policy. Registration is very difficult
Phone option should be possible. We all don't have internet access. Please return to old rewards policy by phone.

Part D coverage
Two things:
1. I've been in Part D Medicare for 3 years. Premiums have ALWAYS been deducted from my Social Security. TexanPlus refuses to make these deductions, which has put me four months in arrears, but TexanPlus will ONLY accept payment by check. I need to pay by phone or on-line (it's the 21st century in most of the world) and TexanpPus will not accept my payment. I have never received an invoice so I can buy a money order to pay the bill, or any assistance from TexanPlus. I have received several threatening phone calls from people with English as a second language, all out of state phone numbers.
2. They have denied the rescue inhaler I have used for years. There is no rescue inhaler in their formulary; they substitute a tablet, an ineffective treatment for a patient who can't breathe.

Texan Plus HMO,CVS Mail Order Pharmacy, Edgepark Medical Supply
It often takes two weeks to get an authorization or referral. I still do not understand the difference! Even after you have a referral or authorization, the patient has to go back to primary dr again for another referral to same specialist if you need to see him after a short referral period. CVS mail order drug has to be the most expensive one on record. It must be at the top of what Medicare allows. Several of our drugs have doubled in a little over the year we have been with Texan Plus HMO. Edgepark is the most expensive for durable medical supplies for my husbands diabetic pump!

Closed provider network for more than 2 years
I am with Gaspy home care service in Houston Tx. Our co. has been trying to get into the Texan plus provider network for about two years. We have been told repeatedly that the network is closed. However, this is a very unusual time frame for a network to be closed. Also we have learned from hospitals and other providers of care in the Houston area that they have difficulty accessing home health care for their patients. Gaspy has been serving the Houston area for 10 years and covers more than 58 counties. Our co. has the ability to meet the home care needs of these patients in the Texan plus network. We would appreciate any help in getting in contact with the appropriate parties who can assist us in solving this problem and allowing our company to become a network provider. My email address is

Could not get meds approved by doctor
Dr. Mischke wrote a prescription to change my dosage on my nifedipine which I take every day for blood pressure. Texanplus Insurance company would not authorize approval for pharmacy to fill prescription without approval from Doctor. Three different occasions Texanplus agents faxed approval form Dr. Mischke's office for him to sign and fax back to TexanPlus agents the approval form to fill my medication. I also have problems with staff being rude and being Impolite.

Could not get meds approved by doctor
It is called a pre-authorization and if you bother to read your policy you will see why they need them for certain drugs. How about complaining to your doctor for not replying to the damn forms.
