Billing Issues

Hello, I had a valid credit card on file (one I use for all bills). TX Tag somehow declined it (I have not idea - it just magically stopped auto billing one day but I never had any issues with any other regular auto bill pays). I received a paper bill for $100. When I went to pay this, I found out there were $650 of outstanding charges. I have never received a single statement - even though I'm subscribed to online statements. I tried opening up a case online - they don't answer. I tried calling - they cannot help and reroute to an automated selection so you never can get the issue resolved. I paid the $650, only the next month to get a $450 bill. Something is seriously wrong with their ability to process normal statements. I have no clue if the $450 is valid - as I don't have any statements in 2021. This is not acceptable. I don't want to pay multi hundred dollar payments monthly because this company is not capable of regular billing.

TxTag office and Phone closed

The TxTag online site and phone have been under maintenance a month, so what do you do to get a TxTag on a vehicle? It is very unfair to be penalized for using a Toll road without a TxTag when they are not open to get one. Are Texans just going to be penalized for their incompetence, and be overcharged or made to travel many extra miles around their toll roads to avoid their penalties?

Toll Tag not read

I have an active NTTA toll tag which works on every toll road I access except WestPark Tollway Houston and 99 Tollroad Houston. Everything is active with automatic renewal of $40 when the balance falls below $10. The two tollways listed reads my license number but fails to cross reference it to my active (for over 10 years) NTTA toll tag. I am sent letters with tolls listed below $4 but with the toll violation fee, mailing fee and late charge brings it up to over $25. Twice this has happened and I disputed the charges both times like I was told by HCTRA and NTTA. I heard nothing back except two months later I receive a bill from TxTag for $129.00 because the 60 days to pay the bill have lapsed. How can you be charged a violation charge when clearly the error was the fault of TxTag. I even gave them my NTTA account number the 3rd time I heard from them. I received the same violation letter from a law firm in Houston as the author of "False Billing". Don't really know what to do since I am not used to ever having a collection letter for an unpaid bill.

Texas Toll Billing

My father passed away in Dec 2016 and I was assigned as the trustee of his estate. I took no ownership of any of my father's property, but did have items transferred into the trust and had to list my name as the trustee. I live in another state. His wife is still living. I received a bill from TxTag adving of toll fees were incurred. These fees were incurred after the truck was sold to another individual. I the bill of sale in to show the date of sale. The current owner transferred ownership after the toll fees we were incurred. Although TxTag states that everything I am saying & have provided makes since, because TX DMV listed me as the owner rather than the trust and the new owner didn't transfer ownership until after the fees were incurred, they will continue to bill me with excess fee. What began as a bill for $9.40 is now at $66.65.

Paying Past Dues

I literally can not pay my bill and get current. Tx Tag charges over 50 in late fees for a single 1.45 cent charge, then they will not allow you to pay the 1.45 without being caught up on your super corrupt past dues, meaning they are predatory and unethical. This is absurd. Please do something. This should be illegal. Im bypassing tolls every chance I get but my work requires some use of the tolls.

Toll Scams

I received a TxTag invoice for account# 366387084 on 9/18/18.

This is the first notice I received and it shows I owed $7.45. Broken down it's for $2.30 that only shows "previous amount due" and $1.15 "mailing fee" and $4.00 "late fee".

The same invoice says to visit "TxTag.org" to pay online or ask questions about an invoice. It also says "call 1-888-468-9824" if you have any questions or want to pay by phone.

A) When you log in. NOTHING works. Not chat, not 'contact us via email'... NOTHING. The site is a scam.
B) When you call the #, the recording says "Press 1 for generic questions about TxTag"... "Press 2 to repeat these options. This call# is a scam.

No way at all to contact, (chat, email, call) TxTag. They send a nebulous invoice with no reference at all and expect you to pay over 3 times the amount due (late fees?... mailing fees?)..

I have an HCTRA account and have had that for almost 15 years. This is not the first time TxTag attempted to cheat/scam/trick me out of money.

I'm copying the Tx Attorney General, the media and copying HCTRA as well on this communication.

As a resident of Texas, this is a state disgrace.

false billing

TxTag has sent multiple bills to my wife, who passed away 6 years ago. The bills were for supposed tollway fees near Austin, Texas in 2016. Number one: she never had an account with TXTag...never. I ( she ) has now received a collection letter from a law firm in Houston. I replied, telling the " lawyers " she died in 2011 and never had an account. So, in March 2016, I wonder how they thought she was driving around near Austin...???
