UDR apartments charged us for damages to our apartment that were there BEFORE we moved in. The maintenance manager for the property was upset that my roommate would not date him. I had a friend who was a prior employee and he knew that most tenants do not get charged for the things we got charged for; i.e: replacing non damaged carpets, refinishing already finished floors. If you have any choice, DO NOT LIVE IN ANY UDR PROPERTY. They are a biased company whose management likes passing the blame from one person to the other, it's a waste of your time and money. We always paid rent in full and on time, yet somehow owed $1600 when we moved out. Find another leasing company to go with.
