I started applying for UIF benefits in February 2021 after being dismissed, it is now the 6th August and still have not received a single payout from this pathetic UIF department. The call centre agents are not all on the same par. When you phone to follow up on your claim status, you just get told your claim has been sent for capturing. You cant talk to anyone senior at the call centre to find out what is happening. The service is non existent, you pay your contributions and gets deducted each month, but when you claim you will wait for months before you hopefully receive anything. This government is corrupt and the people that lead these dept will watch you burn while you expect service you are entitled to. I hate this country

I have applied for uif on the 14 February 2020, the lady who assisted me told that the information on my form was incorrect and so she told me she going to send an email to my previous employee to correct details on my form. Other wise it is going to affect my money. She told then she go to call me over a week and then I waited. And since she I didn't call me back, I went back to the labour offices and luckily it was she again who assisted. She told me there were no reply on the email and told me to send another email it use take up to four days to reply and that she's going to call me. I went back after four days and then I was assisted by an other lady, l told the story her colleague told she later asked her about the email and told she going to me back since there was no response of the previous email. I went there almost every week. I later went to the complaints desk where the lady said there was nothing wrong with my application it was just an error on the form and that every payment on the system shows. She told to go to the application desk and how bad luck could I be? The same lady who assisted me previously processed my application she later told me she won't be able to give me a date since it's loadshedding. It was 10 minutes before the electricity went off. She told me they're going to call me to give the date to come sign. That was on the 11 March 2020 since I heard from her. I went there now during lockdown on the 15 April 2020, it was close a guy standing out side the labour offices directing people what to do assisted give a telephone number. I've been calling almost every day explaining what happened and each day theyr been taking my ID number and cellphone number to check but no one it returning back to me.

in 2000 until 2010 I worked for Nyandeni Local Municipality for 10 years and I would like to claim my UIF. Kindly assist

My contract ended in June 2017. I applied for UIF and I signed and was paid out for 5 months. After I received my 5th payment, I was approached by an agency to do temp work for a few days. I am aware that you have to inform the UIF if you have been employed but I did not know that it applied to temp work, as well. I thought it applied to permanent, contract or casual work. I did not know that I would be registered as employed even though I only worked for 7 days. I was paid less than R2000 for these days, which I have proof of. When I went back to the UIF to sign for my last month, I was informed that thjs payment was cancelled because I am employed, and was told that there's nothing I could do. I was then diagnosed with cancer, had a big operation and have now recovered. While I was in recovery I received a letter stating that I owed the UIF R3500 that had to be paid back in 3 months. I could only go and resolve the query on 30 April. I was told that the amount was calculated from 17 Nov to 6 Dec, even though I worked only from 17 Nov to 27 Nov. I was given a form to make a payment arrangement to pay back the R3500. I am still unemployed so I don't understand why I have to pay back the amount of R3500 and not the amount that was earned for the 7 days.

I would really like to know why we are contributing uif if we can't get our own money back. I mean. I have been employed at 4 different companies over the last 9 years. Now when I applied for my uif, I was told to get the ui19 from my last employer. I did that.. Now I hear I can only apply for that 1 year.. So what must we do? Work for four years and do something to get fired so we can draw? This is unfair, and we as uif payers must stand together and go to the high court, and demand a case, because this is bullshit that we have to pay but don't know where the money is. . This goverment is unfair towards its people. And ill never vote or contribute to uif ever again.

As the heading stated. I already did go to my old work at the old age home to find uif department more information. The investigators told me they cant help me becaurse I cant give them a physical address of this person. She does not want to co operate with me on fb just to get a telephone number never mind her address.

Please ombudsmen I dont know what to do and normally dont want to go to newspapers to make a fuss I believe thats why you are here to help me please and Im immigrating next year january I dont know what the uphold may be for almost 2 years. December will be exactly 2 years.
