I had lived in the this address for over a year and since I signed up for USPS's informed delivery service I am able to see the incoming mail and packages. I would check my mail box which is in an apartment complex every other week and sometimes take out those intrusive adds but it was never jammed packed or so I thought according to the Jack hole of a mail carrier. Everything was smooth and groovy up until the last few weeks when I was suppose to get 2 packages that said they were returned to sender due to "vacancy" and so I called my front office and they told me it might be due to the mailbox being full (which there were adds in there before but not slam packed). I looked in my mail box with nothing but the green vacant slip and I freak out and and went directly to my front office and they explained what they told me over the phone a few days prior and to fill it out with my name and write " current" on the side and put it back in the mail box. I also went to the local Post office and told them the situation since I had some checks in there that was pulled out. they tell me the mail carrier put that in there a week prior since it looked like nobody had lived there. Everything looked hunky dory when I saw on the informed delivery notification that I had mail and I had checked the mail and there mail was. The next day goes by and I see on the informed delivery that I had mail but it was junk mail and I didn't have time to check it. I figured it was fine since that was all that was in there at the time. the next day goes by and I see that a package was "undeliverable" due to no such person or location. the package was supposed to be delivered that morning and I checked with my front office and they see nothing and tell me to get in touch with the sender. I contact the sender and they tell me they sent it to the correct address but on the bottom of the email it states " address vacant" I'm fired up as you could imagine and this morning I see a different green vacant slip as well as some notification for change of address. From now on I will be not sending any packages through them and as far as I'm concerned they can have any bills ( I mostly do paperless billing but a few are not) sent back to the sender and I also made a complaint on the USPS' site as well.

LAZY ASS postman sticks green vacant cards in our box’s so he can speed up his day!
He needs to be fired he’s been doing this for MONTHS to all different people.

I've lived at my residence for the last 10 years and all of a sudden I receive a green vacant notice with NO contact information and my mail is gone. SOOO FRUSTRATING!!! I'll fill out the card as it requests but I wish someone would be man enough to contact me to let me know why their system screwed up the lives of hard working people. I'm sure this is not the end of it as I'm sure these MORONS returned my mail to sender and now I have to figure out which companies have a hold on my address. What is my recourse here??? ... wait by my mailbox to confront the mail carrier??? ... go to the nearest USPS branch and raise hell??? I wonder if USPS employees have been seriously injured over stupid crap like this?? I'm sure its happened. This is absolutely UNBELIEVABLE!!! This is the kind of BS that will speed up the collapse of the USPS system. I recommend those employed by it save all their pennies as the mail system as we know it will be dead soon and the pensions of the employees will be non-existent.

I received a green vacant notice in my mailbox and all my mail was gone. I check my mail every couple days so I know it was not over-filled. Why would I get such a notice??? Do I wait by my mailbox for the mail man to arrive to confront them??? This is the kind of thing that makes someone go mental and want to harm others. I'm obviously upset over this as I'm expecting some very important mail. UNBELIEVABLE!!! This is the dumbest process I've ever learned of AND whoever provided the notice gets to hide in obscurity... I'm certain that filling out the card and returning it will not end my problems as I'm sure these MORONS returned my mail to sender and now I have to figure out which companies have a hold on my address. I wish someone would be man enough to contact me to explain how this messed up process works and how this happens to hard working people that have never changed their address. In general, I appreciate the mail carrier delivering my mail but they are working for an archaic system that will soon be dead. I recommend anyone working for the postal service to save up your pennies b/c the pension is not coming.

I lived in Albuquerque New Mexico for a time. My mail box was at the end of the block with a number of other residents. The mail carrier started stuffing newspaper ads into the box twice a week. They had no address at all. I requested the delivery of this garbage be stopped. I put the newspaper ads (called advos) back into the outgoing mail for the carrier. He stuffed them back into my box. I left a note, I do not want this garbage. He left a nasty note, saying I could not refuse the garbage, that I had to accept it since it wasn't first class. I took the note to the local USPS office. They didn't do anything except put another carrier on the route. The cycle started all over again. Then I moved to a small town south of Albuquerque. Since I received so much garbage in Albuquerque I decided to get a PO box. I filled out a very intrusive application, all kinds of ID required. The postmaster began filling up my PO box with mail from former box renters. Then he would hold my mail saying I needed to get a bigger box (for other people's mail to be delivered to me). So I had filled out an application for a PO box only to be forced to receive other people's mail. I started returning the mail addressed to other people. They began to return my mail to the sender but continued to stuff other people's mail in my box. I complained that I did not receive a couple of checks and legal documents. It continued. They wanted not only to force me to accept other people's mail, but they demanded I empty the box on a daily basis or buy a bigger box. Then I moved to an even smaller town. At this point I receive very little mail because of the trauma USPS carriers cause. So in my new place, I took down the mail box. So the carrier delivers other people's mail between my screen door and my inner door. I tape up the door. The carrier pulls back the tape, stuffs the mail in -- all junk mail by the way -- and tapes the door back. I tried to mail a box at the USPS office today. They wanted to know what was in the box, my ID, and since I had no ID, they demanded to know how I got to the PO box because everyone who drives is required to carry a drivers' license. The childishness and stupidity of all the USPS workers I have ever come into contact with is astounding. It's as if they have a personal stake in forcing you into all kinds of useless bureucratic rules -- but it only goes one way. They can force you to receive whatever junk and garbage they want, but when you try to send a box, they depose you as if you are in a court of law. I cannot WAIT until USPS goes BANKRUPT. All those snotty carriers may miss their pension.
