wont return my deposit

I rented a VRBO.com/711053 at 1000 Bay Drive, unit 507 in Niceville, Florida. owned by Ralph and Karen T. I sent my deposit to secure the unit. They received my check and cashed it.

I had to cancel, and I did in writing 30 days before check in,
They refuse to send me the deposit back.
I would like to get my money back since they have plenty of time to rent this unit to someone else.
