failed to fill RX
Wal Green's failed to fill an RX for Levemir Insulin. I have an RX on file with Wal Green's that states "60 units/day". For a 90 supply that my BC/BS insurance covers with a $60 copay equals 5,400 total units of insulin over a 90 day period. On July12, 2021 they contacted me to say my RX was ready for pick up but it was a partial refill. They provided one 10 ML vial of the insulin and i paid $30. On July 25, 2021 they contacted me again and said my RX was ready and I picked up another 10 ML vial and again paid the remaining co pay of $30. They stated the remaining vials were on back order. I repeatedly returned to the store to pick up the remaining vials but was told the RX had been closed out. When I explained I was owed another 4 vials of the insulin they agreed but continued to maintain they could not finish filling the RX because it had been closed. I talked to three different pharmacists including the manager "Andy" and was told the same thing. "Andy" reordered the insulin using a new RX number and 6 vials came in and they wanted another $60 co pay. I continued to explain that Wal Green's owed me the 4 remaining vials at no additional co pay as the $60 had already been paid on July 12th and July 25th. I had no choice but to pick up the 6 vial RX and pay yet another $60 co pay because I was running out of insulin. Wal Green's owes me either a $40 refund for failing to fill the original RX or 4 more vials of the insulin.
