HELP!!! WF DELAYING AND HOLDING CHECK!

My house burnt down March 2016 in CA. I finally got the all the bids and submitted all the paperwork Wells Fargo asked for. And for 2 months I have been told I will be getting the first check next week or in 2 days or Monday etc. This has been a joke. The run around and delays are criminal. Finding this website and reading all these similar experiences is horrifying. I'm trying to rebuild a house and can't imagine still being here in a year dealing with these idiots.

I want to pursue other action. Hire attorney or ???? If you have had any luck with attorney's or any other approach please let me know.

Wells Fargo Holds Insurance Checks Hostage

My house was flooded in August and even though my insurance company got my checks to me quickly, I can't get my house fixed because they aren't releasing the money. My first check was for $10,000, which the local Wells Fargo office endorsed and handed to me. I spent that on ServePro mold abatement,drying out the house, and a new A/C unit to keep the house dry so the mold won't come back.

I then got a check for $53K which I brought to the local office and they kept saying I had to go to InsuranceClaimCheck.com to get the money and dealing with them hasn't been easy. I submitted paperwork and they told me first the W9 must have a street address, then they told me the TIN number was wrong. Which is it? After getting that straight, they are taking their time releasing the funds. I spoke to them on Wednesday 10/12 and they said the check would be here by Friday, called them back Friday 10/14 and now the check is delayed until Monday or Tuesday and my contractor is supposed to start Wednesday! He said we could move the start date back, but I shouldn't have to. What bugs me more is Wells Fargo has called me to ask what I'm doing about fixing the house! How can I if they won't release the funds.

I also have no idea how much I'm getting because I've been told $30,000, $40,000, 1/3(of what amount I don't know), so I don't know. I also have fronted some of my own money, but can't get that reimbursed until the contractor is paid. There is some work my wife and I can do ourselves but they will only release money if we hire a licensed contractor and I don't have the money to pay up front. They have made the process of getting our house fixed drag to a screeching halt with their practices. We want back in our home and Wells Fargo wants the house fixed, yet they won't release the funds. I understand why they want the house fixed, but how can we fix it if there's nothing to fix it with?

I have never missed or had a late mortgage payment and have always carried the amount of homeowner's and flood insurance they require. I thought I'd have to fight the insurance companies and local building officials to get the house fixed if I ever had to, but didn't think I'd have to fight my mortgage company or their subcontractor.

Wells Fargo Withholding Insurance Checks to repair my house

Over month after submitting all the paper work and I still have not received the first check for my contractors to start repairs.
Wells Fargo is making money on Trading off that money. This is predatory practice.
Has anyone has any suggestions how to sue them for this negligence and loss and predatory behavior with money that is not their??

Horrible to deal with

I had a major flood. Wells Fargo held up every single insurance check - every one of them. They insisted on obtaining contractor's worksheets. I provided everything the contractor gave me - not good enough. It delayed the repairs by at least a month. Trying to get someone on the phone was impossible. And when someone finally got on the call, they knew nothing, claimed they were trying to help but they have processes they must comply with. Now they want to schedule an inspection. Impossible to schedule. They give you a website to schedule the inspection that does not exist. Every number they have is automated and the menu doesn't apply. I spent more time on hold with them than anyone I have ever dealt with. Now I am insisting they comply with my processes when the inspector shows up. I will need a driver's license and social security number in advance. I'm sure that will go over well.

Keep canceling insoection

As a result of a tornado 2/2416 there sufficient damage. I'm going thru the EXACT same thing as everyone else is. On June 23rd I requested an inspection. I notice on 6/30 the inspection had been canceled. I called and was informed that a voice mail had been left (never happened) the specialist re-submitted the requested 7/1 a,m. I check my acct online and see that once again the inspection request has been canceled due to MY REQUEST (duh). I am really at my wits end with WF and the process of handling claims- it's nothing less than piss poor service. I was depending on this inspection in order to move farther on with repairs. I can't complete my repairs until I have an inspection and that is taking a toll on my family. I don't know if any WF Property loss Personnel read these complaints but it's a shame what WF is doing to innocent people who are trying to put their families back together, the client has already experienced a devastating situation and we just want to get back to normal. I wake up every more and go to bed every night depressed over this situation and even though WF says in their letters "they know this is a devastating time for us and they will try to make this process as easy as possible" that gas DEFINTELY not been the case. I have an equity line with WF I'm hoping that I will have enough left over from an additional check I holding on to right now to be able to pay them the 18k I owe and be done with WF😡

Emotional Impact and stress due to Wells Fargo process to endorse and release insurance money.

The way that Wells Fargo Property Loss Department has been working with my case is unacceptable. I have been dealing with this process for weeks and keep waiting . Nothing has served to express the urgency that I have Repair my home. Water damage have not only affected my quality of life, it has also affected my physical and emotional health due to stress that this caused me. The lack of commitment to customers is a shame and lack of consideration is simply unacceptable. This whole process has made me feel like I'm nobody and all they matter is their side, without taking into consideration that I am the affected part. Remember that it is a common good and the only ones suffering the physical and emotional consequences of the damage it is me and my family.

Wells Fargo Won't Endorse My Property Loss Checks

The exact same scenario everyone else is describing. I am holding 3 checks right now that the vendors have been waiting for payment from since April. Everytime I contact WF they need another document. First they had the incorrect amount of my damage claim which was approx $58,000. They closed my claim before everything was done with the amount of $34,000. I talked to them 4 times after that before I demanded to speak with a "customer service" manager who re-opened my claim and corrected the amount of loss. Then they told me I needed to sign a release and hold harmless agreement and get a statement from the contractor that they had been paid in full....which I can't do because they won't release the funds. Everything is complete. My inspection by WF has been completed , but still no funds. Everyday I call. I am still waiting to receive the release and hold harmless document they say I need to submit and this is day 2 for an overnight letter they were supposed to be sending. Never mind that everytime I call I talk to a different person and have to repeat everything. And the intermittent 2-3 minute holds that make a 10 min call stretch into 30-40 mins and you still don't get anything resolved. I have taken off my job 3 times already to try to get to the bank when they told me they would release funds only to have them tell the banker they are unable to do so when he calls. This is CRAZY and I have told them so.

Wells Fargo Property Loss Department Is Worthless

I've been going back and forth with the property loss department of Wells Fargo for the past several weeks. I have over $65,000 of damage, and they keep finding a reason not to move forward with sending the funds. I've sent them every piece of information that they ask for, of course there's always one other thing that they need, and nobody seems to be on the same page. I was told to go to the branch, then the branch calls them and can't even figure out what else they need. Currently, they're in possession of my insurance check and all of the documents that you could imagine. (I send them another one every day or so, and they claim that it takes 3-5 days to process it, then they tell me that they need something else) Now, they're telling me that they won't accept my adjuster's worksheet (which they've had for a LONG time) because my insurance company hired a third party adjuster, and they're not certain that the insurance company actually used the adjuster. (never mind that the check from my insurance company matches the amount on the adjuster's worksheet) One of their most common responses is to go completely silent when you ask a question, which is really great. You get to hear a bunch of dead silence, then when you ask if they're still there, you get a "yes, I'm still here"... Also, they ask for your phone number every time you call, but they don't actually call you on it. If you want information, you have to call and ask..and if you don't ask the right questions, they won't tell you anything at all. For example, I've been talking them for days, only to just find out that they didn't accept my adjuster's worksheet - nobody has once mentioned that until I specifically asked about it...that's the way it is with everything. I had to get the work started, so I'm paying for everything out of my pocket, and I guess that I'm going to have to hire an attorney to deal with getting them to sign over the check. I'm already over $20,000 out of pocket, and they don't seem to be interested in helping what so ever. It's amazing! They're not even out any money; they just need to release the insurance funds! I've never seen anything so ridiculous!

wells fargo refuse to endorse my deductible check

Received my deductible check from my insurance company and I sent it to wells fargo for endorsement but every time i call about it they give me the run around they requested a letter from my insurance company showing that it was infact my deductible so i faxed a copy of the insurance company letter and everytime i call wells fargo they either say it's in review or they haven't received the letter from the insurance company wtf why?. why?. why? This bank is like our political system a JOKE!!!

Wells Fargo won't endorse my check

Recently had water damage to hardwood flooring and filed claim with homeowners. Adjuster came out and wrote check for $7000.00 to myself and Wells Fargo and advised me to go to local WF branch to have endorsed. Well, I called WF to find location the first person told me I have to sign check and mail it to them and they will distisbute as work is done! Spent 3 hours on phone being transferred from one department to another each person telling me something different! I am so afraid to mail or sign this check because I may never see this money again! How can they hold my check hostage? I have someone to replace floors but don't have my own personal money to pay in a timely matter! Contractors don't say, I will do the job and you can pay me later! I am a senior living on fixed income and as it is, I have to pay out of pocket for new hot water heater which caused the damage. Can anyone please advise me if I have any other choices?!

I also have had a similar experience. My barn collapsed during a snow storm. Insurance quickly issued a check. I owed 100k on a 500k property. I did not wish to rebuild the barn but wanted to update the house. They refused to even listen to my wishes. The local branch manager endorsed the check and after a call to property loss devision refused to cash the check saying I had to rebuild a barn. I took my endorsed check and called them the next day to discuss the problem. They threatened me with a law suit if I didn't comply with thier decision. After numerous calls up the slippery chain of comand and a complete stalemate. I threatened legal action. They would only agree to apply it to the balance of my mortgage but could refinance to get my money. Needless to say I will NEVER use wells fargo for anything ever again in my. How can a branch manager endorse a check and refuse to cash it.

Can't even get reimbursement of more than $5500 paid to repair damage--let alone rest of funds needed to complete repairs

My home was damaged on July 9 after sump pump failure during a storm. I had to pay more than $4105 out of pocket for water extraction plus $1163 for a new water heater that was ruined from the water. I have YET to even receive money covering my out of pocket expenses, and they are saying I have to finish and PAY FOR the remainder of work, plus have an inspection, before they will even give me ANY of the insurance money from Allstate. I don't even have money to pay my mortgage or bills because of the money I've had to pay out of pocket!!! I am a single mother with two children--I have spent hours and hours and hours dealing with them--causing loss of income and unbearable stress. This should be criminal!! What a horrible company!!

My mortgage is with Wells Fargo. I had damage done by weather to my home, it is not liveable due to that. Wells Fargo want's me to put this check in the mail to them and they will place it in escrow. WE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AS EVERYONE ELSE, NEED MONEY TO FIX OUR HOME THAT WAS DAMAGED 5/10/2015 AND WELLS FARGO REFUSES TO RELEASE FUNDS! WE HAVE ALREADY HAD AN INSPECTION DONE BY THEM SHOWING WE ARE 65% COMPLETE, WE HAVE PURCHASED MATERIALS AND PAID FOR LABOR OUT OF POCKET. EXCUSE ME I AM THE ONE PAYING THE PREMIUMS NOT WELLS FARGO AND I AM NOT LATE ON MY PAYMENT!! IF I EVER GET THROUGH THIS I PLAN TO REFINANCE WITH ANOTHER LENDER! WF Property Loss Dept

I am presently having problems with Wells Fargo property loss dept. My husband and I had to borrow money to get repairs done while the insurance check was placed in an escrow account. I uploaded forms that were needed to process the claim, some how the forms ended up in a closed claim. Thanks to specialist Lynn Hopkins she took the time to research and resolve that issue, which was just one of many. It has been a month and we still don't have use of our kitchen, it's a very frustrating situation.
