WINDSTREAM Internet

Signed up for "better service" 2 years ago & Service has progressively gotten worse.
Replaced Windstream Modem "8 times".
Repair Tech has checked & tested "numerous times"
Windstream Office "girl" Kelsey was VERY Rude & not very informative.
Customers in my area are stuck, as Windstream is the ONLY Service.
At this point......WINDSTREAM SuX & is causing harm to my living

Best effort BS

I was excited when I first signed up 3 years ago, I had been stuck on dial-up until that point. The tech's told me I had good margins but the fastest speeds we could get would be 512Kbps. They assured me they would be expanding though as my area was "slotted for expansion" 3 years later and I am still being told the same thing. I pay full price for their minimum speed which is supposed to be 3.0MBps and I was promised inclusion into the normal speeds. Just received a bill for 73 Dollars and all I have is the internet and Lan line that I cannot use due to the static, and hum in the line. This company is about to lose me as a loyal customer, I'm finished waiting. I have no other options for internet in the area save for satellite, or dial-up but I would rather do without than be had every month, and lied to.

Speed and Service

Over 3 years of speed issues. Promised upon purchase 3mbps on upgrade per their request) and have never had speeds delivered. On several calls over the past 3 years complaining about terrible speeds (0.47-0.72 mbps download on average). Continual and same message from Windstream that they are updating equipment with no delivery date EVER mentioned. Called again today with the same message and no commitment to a delivery date. VERY dissatisfied but few options since they are the only show in town. many neighbors complained and unhappy but with same story on service. we would all leave Windstream if we have any options. Will be submitting my complaint to national BBB and the national online complaint board.

Everything about Windstream is awful!

We have a business in a rural area and have no other option for ISP. For over a year now we have been dealing with "latency" issues. We receive about 1%-3% of what we pay for. We NEVER have received 3Mb even though we pay for 6Mb. It is impossible for us to get any work done online. I have been told by three people I spoke to at Windstream that they have oversold their DSL and that is the problem. I think this should be ILLEGAL, I also think monopolies like Windstream should be illegal. I have decided that since Windstream refuses to fix the problem then I along with my boss and my co-workers are going to use every media outlet and social network possible to give Windstream bad press and to tell our story. I have already written to the FCC concerning this and they have replied saying they are investigating my complaints. Today, since I could not get any work done online I have taken that time to write to all of my congressional leaders. I am now on hold with a local news station to voice my complaints. WINDSTREAM may ignore me, but being as we deal directly with the federal government in our business I am pretty sure they will hear my complaints.

itunes

I just recently found out windstream has certain apple sites blocked. I found this last week when trying to update my wife's iphone. I have called several times, had tech out to my house, and they apparently do not know how to fix it. I even went to about 10 or so people's houses with windstream, and sure enough, they could not download itunes either. We also have the super slow speeds. Its hard to believe that a company this size is so littered with poor service and poorly trained techs. I guess someone is putting all the profit in their pocket instead of back in the company. We too are switching our service to another isp. Its just a matter of time until home phone service is obsolete.

Poor service provided!

I was a long time customer of windstream, even when it was Alltel . I have never got such poor Quality in a service these past few years. I canceled everything except my basic phone service for 24 dollars a month and that's when all hell broke loose.. My number was given to telemarketers without my permission. received phone calls like crazy. Had one phone in my house that had background noise. the Lady told me that it would cost 75 dollars for them to come into my house and look at it. Works fine now since I switched services I had regular Dial up on my computer because I didn't use it that much they blocked my calling numbers.. Didn't know that till AOL told me..they would add charges to your bill and you would call about them and they say they would remove them and not to not pay that amount but surprise it was never removed.. When I was unable to get on the Internet I called them they said that there's no problems here. Then she suggested a Package Deal of course. I said no because I'm not home enough to use my computer .. but guess what my computer started working 10 minutes after I talked with her.. go figure... With everyone going to cell now they want to disrupt everyone service so they can pay extra charges.. Happier now since I Left...
