11:51Call from 818 864 4383. La Canada Flintridge, CA was the incoming point or origin shown on my phone.
English is definitely NOT his first language, couldn't make out his conversation for a few seconds as it was a bit garbled and then I had to adjust for his accent - seems to be Hispanic, possibly Chicano.

From what I can tell, he did not identify himself, or me by name, and sounded like he was reading a scripted conversation. He said he was calling from "Winners International" and was following up on a prize notification which I should have received in the mail recently. (RED FLAG - why would you have my # if you needed to notify me via mail?) I started paying more attention after that...

Me: "Nope, no mail. Who's calling??

Person on phone: "This is Winner's International - you have won a prize in an international sweeps--"

Me: "I do not know of any contest or drawing I have entered..."
Me: "Hello?"
Person: (some silence like they are scanning the page) "...Well, ma'am that's the reason it was important for you return my earlier
call, as we have tried to noti---" (Oh - THERE it is. The dead giveaway. *There was no earlier call from this number*)

Me: "Hold on - who is calling? Who am I talking to?"
(Starting to get pissed. Thinking , hey buddy - YOU called ME - not the other way around. And this is the FIRST call I've gotten from you - DON'T try to make me get this shit twisted about. I'm NOT some poor, desperate, feeble minded fool.)

Person: "Yes, I am calling you from Winner's International and you ha--"
(Ok, cutting this off NOW - won't identify yourself?? BIG ASS NOPE IN MY CORNER HERE. Now, I could play along and mess with him (more time on the line with me is less time for you to con others), but as I was at work....though better of wasting time there.)

Me: "I do not think you should be calling this number - better check if you have the right person. Please remove this number from your list- I am NOT interested."

I then promptly hung up. Let's see if he tries calling again. Jerk. I'm convinced this is a TOTAL SCAM - found NOTHING GOOD when I searched "Winner's International" online.
