Price gouging

BIG RIP OFF! BEWARE OF XOOM ENERGY! I signed up with Xoom Energy two years ago, hoping to save a little money on my gas bill. I know its a gamble; DTE's pricing (specifically their supplier charge) has always been pretty consistent, but Xoom Energy was a couple cents cheaper at the time. Last month, after learning of my father recently getting ripped off on his gas bill at his business, I decided to check mine. I have not checked my gas bill in a while, and even with the higher bills this winter, I just assumed it was the extra gas we were using, not that I was being taken advantage of by our gas company supplier. Anyway, after analyzing our February bill, I noticed that the supplier charge, which is again from Xoom Energy, was through the roof. It was at .79 per CCF. That does not seem like much until you compare it to DTE's .48 per CCF, and most of the other companies out there were were around .60 per CCF. I immediately called to cancel my account. Disappointment engulfed my face when I then found out that it will take 1-2 billing cycles to be able to release their claws from me so I can go back to DTE. Upset, but figuring that it could not get any worse and that I was on my way to lower gas bills, I checked my email and noticed my new March gas bill in my email account today. Xoom Energy, for the month of March, went from .79 per CCF to 1.29 CCF! What a hit to my family! Where is DTE at? .48 per CCF for the month of March. I looked at other companies, and no one else jacked their pricing up like Xoom did. Doesn't make any sense. My charge from Xoom Energy was .539 per CCF in October, .539 per CCF in November, .539 per CCF in December, then .69 per CCF in January, .79 per CCF in February, and 1.29 per CCF in March; unethically taking advantage of Michigan's roughest winter in a long time and sticking it to hardworking families like mine This seems pretty criminal if you ask me, and I hope someone will really take the time to investigate this company.

Over Priced

I have the same experience as other complaints with this company. Their price is much higher than the market price and they sent out price increase note a few months after the increase. I wonder should government agent investigate into this possible price gouging.

Switched Me to Variable Rate Without Notication and Refuse to Refund Me

This is the worst customer service I have ever dealt with...and I've deal with some bad ones.

I signed up for Xoom through an ACN rep on a fixed rate plan.

Xoom switched me over to a variable rate plan WITHOUT NOTIFYING ME. They claim they sent an email but I checked my spam folder and deleted emails....never got it.

Long story short, they jacked their variable rates up to DOUBLE what I was paying and I finally realized it after my third ridiculously high bill. They gouged me for an extra $300 and are refusing to refund any of it.

Don't sign up with them. You'll be sorry.
