Please don't get this insurance

4/2/2016: My dad was looking for insurance coverage and came upon the Principle Advantage Limited Benefit Health Insurance. He was paying about $178/month for about four months. Last week, he went to the doctor's for a refill on his diabetes medication and for a routine blood test. The doctor's visit itself was $50 and they did not cover the blood test, which itself he paid $180. The medication he also had to pay for. **Please do not get this plan for yourself. It is most certainly a scan. You are better off without insurance than getting such sub-par coverage.**

Health Insurance Innovations

Unbelievable, I was looking for insurance in my area on 1/10/2016. I went to national health care website put my phone number on the site(don't) I was contacted by 954-606-9070 by a man named "Kareem" real name now LUTHER ext.1075. He's definitely a confidence scam artist. I was on the phone with this man for about two hours. I was looking for a PPO which I am willing to pay for he found MULTIPLAN a national company which my specialist accepts. I went into depth about how I also need prescription drug coverage(I was extremely specific about this!) due to three herniated discs Lumbar 3, 4(protruding in a different direction) &5 on my left leg and nerve damage due to a another doctor who botched a surgery on my right leg! "LUTHER THE LIAR" as I now refer to him assured and stated YES THERE IS COMPLETE prescription coverage under the plan. That was and is a lie.The plan is United One Health 1800-237-4463.Which is costing me $219.00 a month plus my meds. that are now running for $250.00 a piece for two of them and $100.00 for another the costs vary but these companies are ripping me off. My cost before Luther the liar, $10.00. I am coming after this company for fraud. Luckily in the state of Nevada I have to the option of drop out in JUNE instead of getting stuck for an entire year. What this person did is fraud and it should be outlawed in the state of Nevada I have contacted to N.V. insurance commissioner. I want Luther in prison and to be made to pay full restitution for not only me he's now ripping off for almost $500.00 a month and in June that will decrease to to $300.00 still a far cry from what I was originally paying last year for a PPO. I am working full time on two injuries,in severe pain my doctors have both told me WAIT UNTIL JUNE, paying almost double every month and how has Obama care helped a hard working American,Obama should be paying for this instead of me. I am saving all my receipts and I am faxing them to all of my state representitives. If I ever find Luther in Tampa Florida I am suing him! I am going with a local Reno company that I can walk into and who are accountable. My question, how is it that big pharm. can justify this or legally get away with as well.

Dishonesty of the company and staff

I have this insurance and I have not been able to get anyone to help explain the benefits of the package that I have chosen. I was told that I could go to any network doctor. But, I have called almost every doctor's office in Knoxville, Tennessee and none of them take this insurance. The only thing the company ifs good for is making sure that you pay your premiums and getting money out of you account and not be of any assistance when it comes to getting general questions answered. They have not been useful at all in my health coverage. I can't find doctors to accept this insurance. They were very misleading at the time of purchase. I requested a list of doctors in the network that I could use for health care but to no avail the company wasn't helpful.

Health Insurance Innovations

I almost fell victim to this company, too. My friend told me about HII and I received a call from "Sam" in Maryland. The price quoted was almost $400 less than the policy my husband and I already have. And we didn't have to go through underwriting? My first "red flag". When I hesitated to sign up right then and there, he put me on hold, came back on the phone, lowered his voice because he could get me a better deal if we would go to the doctor only 4 times a year instead of 5. Cut our monthly cost another $300.00.

Thank goodness I had done due diligence and saw the BBB review and also these reviews. When I asked "Sam" about these bad reviews he shamed me and said he could look me up on the internet and find people who said bad things about me.

I hope you all have called your state Board of Insurance and told them your story. The State Board of Insurance in Austin seems to have people willing to listen and try to make a difference. Perhaps HII will only change the name and be back in business in no time. It's a shame that companies like this prey on good people who have to have insurance.

Thank you for sharing your stories. Reading them has made a difference and has saved a lot of folks the heartache you have had to endure.

healthcare insurance innovations

I entered the Obama care website that transferred me to my states site! After looking over some insurance I called and explained to the agent that I was looking to replace my companies high deductable coverage! The agent failed to mention the insurance they sold me was not qualifying coverage and no policy was ever sent that would have alerted me prior to cancelling my company insurance! My first doctor visit has me worried that this company is likely to abuse the pre-existent condition that was supposedly eliminated under obamacare

I entered the obamacare insurance porthole that directed me to my state site! After looking over the policies I called to speak to a agent!I explained that I was looking to replace my companies high deductables insurance ,however the agent failed to mention what they sold was not qualifying and I would end up paying a penalty ! My first doctor visit alerted me to what seems to be a even bigger problem - they seem to be using the pre-existing condition practice that is supposed to be eliminated under Obamacare!

Health Insurance Innovations Is A SCAM!!!!! Signed up 1/22/2016

Stay Away, or you will be SOLD A BILL OF GOODS!!!!! What they tell you over the phone is not what you get!!!!! I purchased a Family Plan $533.00 a month with a 1 time processing fee of $50.00. What was most important to me was that my Dr. accepted the pan I was being offered, as well as, prescription coverage. I was told by Agent Kenny M*****, $20 copay for Dr. visit, $35 copay for Specialist, $50 copay for Urgent Care & $20 copay on all prescriptions. 2/2/2016 received a letter stating RX (prescription coverage) would not be in effect until 2/15/2016. After waiting until coverage for RX was in effect, & going without breathing medication for well over 2 weeks with much difficulty. 2/15/2016 Boy was I in for a Real Big Surprise!!! My so called copay on 1 medication $347.84 RX INSURANCE would pay $34.15.
The least expensive of the medications they would pay the most a whooping $33.24.
MY ADVICE TO ANYONE WHO HAS HAD ANY DEALINGS WITH HEALTH INSURANCE INNOVATIONS!!!!
1) CONTACT YOUR FINANCIAL INSTITUTION (BANK) MAKE A COMPLAINT OF FRAUDULENT CHARGES. CANCEL YOUR CREDIT/ DEBIT CARD OR CHECKING ACCOUNT IF YOU HAVE TO!! TO AVOID THEM HAVING ACCESS TO YOUR ACCOUNT, TRUST ME THEY WILL TRY!!!
2)CONTACT THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE IN YOUR STATE FILE A COMPLAINT! & BOARD OF INSURANCE BROKERS IN YOUR STATE FILE A COMPLAINT!!! DON'T BE SILENT!!! MAKE AS MUCH NOISE AS YOU CAN!!! HAVE THEM BE ACCOUNTABLE!!!!! Best of Luck!! Joanna B.

Health Insurance Innovations

I was recently sold health insurance by this company and was told that it was full health insurance that met all the requirements of the affordable care act, but after they took payment of $390.69 from my credit card and I received the details by email I realized that most of the statements that I was told over the phone were lies.
When I now try to contact anyone by phone there is no answer and I have not received no reply from several emails I sent to them.

This is a massive fraud and this company should be prosecuted.

Insurance fraud!!

This company is a biggest scam I've ever dealt with. I can not believe these people are still in business! Found online when I searched BCBS. Thought I was speaking w a agent from healthcare market place that can look at all insurance plans. Was told I was singing up w a insurance company called Coventry. Was told my plan, signed up, paid and thought I was good to go. A month later made a dr apt & was told my dr I've used for 10 years & takes almost all insurance is not "in network". In act I don't even have insurance w Coventry. Turns out I have HCC and that HII sold it to me. What???? Then I call to get my coverage- panic time! I basically don't have any coverage! Can't get any refills, can go to my dr for a discount rate. I was told I would have co-pays. Im not even sure I have major medical at all. Was told I did when I signed up. This company told me a plan that I completely do not have!!!

Over Billing

I needed a short term policy in July to get me thru to next open enrollment. Contacted an agent named Jeff W****t in Littleton sold me a policy which was to expire Jan 1st 2016. Im still being billed for the health insurance and the rider policy from American General. Nobody responds to calls or e-mails!! I plan on filing a small claims lawsuit in February 2016. Stay clear this is a scam and you probably are not covered.

The phone just rings and rings

I enrolled on 12/15/2016...i was told I'd get a packet and ID cards and haven't gotten anything. I keep calling and calling the phone just rings and rings. They charged me $333.47 and haven't been able to cancel because guess what no one answers the phone. I reported them to the BBB and filed a complaint. I just want my complete refund back. I encourage everyone to file a complaint. I am going to dedicate my free time to give them bad reviews.

Health Insurance Innovations

They are a fraud, Spike with a gentleman named Jeff who said my plan would cover everything for my 2 yr old daughter and myself and I'd have nothing out of pocket. Said that we would be on the biggest health network in the US. I asked for the benefits information upfront was advised I have to pay first. I called to cancel and was advised it was all taken care of until I just received notification that they deducted the amount of the first month from my account. I look into it and all they did was postpone my payment, needless to say I will be seeking legal advice as well as a refund. They are fraudulent, the plan covers next to nothing and will only cover one person.

Fraud

Not exactly sure how I was directed to Health Insurance Innovations for coverage but I was under the misguided impression that this was a link from the Healthcare.gov site. Iwas given a representative who gave me the spiel regarding coverage, deductibles, etc and was told that I would pay a 125 dollar enrollment fee, plus the first months premium, and would receive confirmation of my benefits package after I had spoken with someone in billing. I was directed to billing, paid the fee plus premium , which amounted to 203.00 dollars. I got a huge surprise when I went to the pharmacy to pick up my prescriptions! My total paid through my previous provider fot THE YEAR PRIOR was less than the amount I paid my first trip to the pharmacy under this plan. These guys are frauds.

Principle Advantage

What a bunch of deceiving people. They call you up and offer a plan that too good to be true (I should have known better), leading you to believe you've purchased a major medical insurance policy when what you've actually purchased is a "limited benefit health insurance" policy - there's a big difference. They kept me on the phone for 2 hours, convincing me what a wonderful deal I was getting, when everything coming out of their mounts was absolute lies. What scammers! I am so upset. I don't know what to do. is is

Healthcare Innovations

Why is this company still operating and ripping us off? I am disputing my first payment and went as far to cancel the card to terminate the agreement. I called them asking them to cancel the plan and their representative kept arguing with me and would Not allow me to do so. She said a manager had to call me back. That was several weeks ago. Today, 12/01/15, I responded to an email asking me for payment. I returned an email telling them about me attempting to cancel the service and told them I would not be paying them anything as their "practice" is Nothing more than deceit. Since I sent that email around 9 am today, I had received two hang up calls but turned my phone off. When I answered the first call, they hung up. When I answered the second call, they left an automated message for me to call them and I terminated that call myself. One more hang up call after that and will counting many of them when I turn my phone back on.
Funny how I rarely get hang up calls and then every time I hear from them or contact them, the calls start again. I have backdates and times and am simply adding them to the list.

Is this insurance co. legit?!

Spoke to a salesman who talked non-stop for 20 minutes. Gave me a price quote - said I had to buy today - prices change everyday. Said they also charge an enrollment fee of $125. Things just didn't sound right. Last straw - when I asked if there was anything in writing on the plan and what it covers that I could get, was told you can't have anything in writing until you buy & pay for one month's premium and the $125 enrollment fee! A real red flag - kind of like Nancy Pelosi - have to pass it before you get to read it!

Misrepresentation of health insurance policy

After several conversations with a insurance agent "LARRY" I purchased health insurance through Health Insurance Innovations, provider MSGA Principle Advantage Limited Benefit Health Insurance. He assured me I was purchasing a major medical policy.
After receiving my policy, I called the company to speak with him and he suddenly wasn't available I was referred to others in the company on several occasions. They assured me I had a "Stacked" policy. where one stopped paying another picked up (Like my auto policy) I stayed with the company because I could afford the monthly premiums and honestly was pretty healthy and only needed it for major medical mishaps. To my surprise in January I went to the emergency room with what was suppose to be $50.00 co-pay. I currently have a $18,000.00 bill with the hospital because my insurance only covered $200.00. Simply put this is NOT why we have insurance!! I can't afford to pay this bill!!

BEWARE!!!!! I WOULD NEVER TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!!

retroactive policy recission

HISTORY FROM INITIAL INSURANCE PURCHASE TO PRESENT 10-22-2012
I purchased a short term medical policy on 3-29-2012 from health insurance innovations. I was out of work thinking this would be good until I found a job . I was asked many questions about my health and was granted a policy when I made payment. Policy came into effect on 3-30-2012 at 12:01 am. Underwritten by companion health.
On 4-2-2012 I felt an extreme case of acid indigestion, heartburn which scared me. That afternoon, I made an appointment to see a Dr. at nearby Hartley Clinic. I saw Dr. Nyunt, and explained what was going on. He suggested an EGD to see if there was a problem, but put me on a gastro-cocktail for ten days. Days I felt better, and it seemed to be working, but after 10 days, I had a sudden pain in my chest. I called Dr. to set up an EGD, because something was wrong. I had the EGD at Baum-Harmon hospital on 4-16-2012 , and 4-17-2012 from Dr. Doude. My esophagus was impacted with food, so the second EGD was ordered. I was called with pathology report, and it was not cancer but a condition called barrett’s esophagus. I was told to eat what I want, that Prilosec would help with the acid. On Friday 4-20 , I could not swallow water, so I called the surgery doctors, and nurse contacted Dr. Reinke, he had me admitted to Baum Harmon hospital. Started me on IV fluids, and wanted to do another EGD the next day which was Saturday. In the meantime, several tests were performed—barium swallow, CT scan. On 4-21 the third EGD was performed. I got the news on 4-24 that it was cancer. Surgeon didn’t think it was cancer because my symptoms came on so quickly.
Hartley ambulance shuttled me to Avera in Sioux Falls for j-peg implant, and port surgery. I met with their cancer team, and we discussed a plan. Fortunately my Onco practices at nearby Spencer Abben Cancer Center. I took two rounds of chemo and 25 radiation treatments. On 7-25-2012 I had an esophagectomy at Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
The insurance company approved everything, but I was getting invoices saying they are investigating my claims for pre-existing condition. After nearly four months of claims not being paid, I was getting calls and letters from collections. Insurance started to pay claims in August. I was relieved and very sick trying to recuperate after a six hour invasive surgery.
Now the insurance company has retroactively rescinded all my claims. Abben cancer called me to inform me that they want all their claim money back. They will not cover my cancer because I had symptoms before my effective date of coverage. I have not received such letter. I am now getting bills from my providers for my cancer. It could be well over $200,000.00 which I do not have to pay. I have applied for SSDI and been denied, am getting $140.00 per month in food stamps as I am and have been disabled partly due to my past accidents at work, but now esophageal cancer.

I made many phone calls to claims wondering when they will start paying—I was always getting the run-around, but was told I was covered for cancer by Kenny a claims rep.
