UIF

All I can say is the labour department is a shame. Poor performance. How can the people who are no longer working survive when a uif takes forever to be paid.

UNPAID UIF

I applied for UIF in November last year, followed the procedure and submitted all required documents. They said I should come back after a month and when i go there they told me i came before time and to wait two weeks, after 2 weeks they told to wait 10 days and theh money will be in my bank account. I went back in January and they said somebody ticked that i resigned form my previous work, so i submitted the UI-19 again, after two weeks i went back and mu UI-19 was still rejected by the system. In March I went back they said everything is fine and i should wait for a month before coming back, when I went back end of April they said I should wait 2 weeks. Last week when I call them they said the system needs a new UI-19 form again. I am fed up and I am giving up, the government is ripping us alive, i have lost all hope.

not recieving my UIF money

Ive been waiting 8 weeks for my maternity leave money, with no luck on recieving the money i phoned Labour deparment and asked what was going on... Only to be told that i was not on there system and that they were waiting for my U19 paper!!! This is out rageous as all the documentation was given on time and i was to wait 10 days in order for the first payment to be made. How am i suppose to buy groceries and pay my bills? The staff at the labour department are always on there cell phones and i remember having to wait 20 min to be helped because the lady helping me had to reply to her bbm which she had recieved.now why does it not surprise me that i have not recieved my money left!!!! This is ridiculous, anything that has to do with Goverment the service is really poor - and than they say Welcome to South Africa.

Dragging for over a year to refund

Good afternoon

I have for over a year tried to get a refund sorted out with the department of labour. They deducted money from payments made to me, because of an error on documents. Those have been submitted and rectified, but they still have not released the payment. It has been over a year and nobody is willing to even try and get it sorted out. The lady whom people keep referring me to, does not want to even talk to me. How will I ever get this sorted out??

MATERNITY BENEFIT NOT PAID OUT

I applied for my maternity benefit to be paid out on 14 February and was told to return in March to fill in a continuation of benefits claim. I went back on 18 March and was told that one of my forms was incorrect. I corrected it the same day and faxed the form through and I submitted the continuation of payment form. I was told that I should receive payment within 2 weeks. 2 Weeks later I had received no payment. I sent through an e-mail on 2 April. I phoned the UIF office on 7 April and I was told that my application was approved and I should have recieved a small amount. My bank statement reflected R12. I went in again on 8 April and I was told that one of my forms was missing and that I cannot receive payment without that form. I filled in a new form and was then told by the employee that he is taking my form to the pay point immediately and I should receive payment withing 5 working days. I received no payment so I phoned the UIF office on 16 April and I was told that they would get back to me. I phoned again on 22 April and the person said they did not have time to check yet and would would check what the problem is and phone me back. I phoned again on 23 April and nothing had been sorted out. I sent through an e-mail on 23rd again, requesting feedback. The employee then phoned me at the end of the day to say that my payment is blocked and he needs a supervisor to assist him. I phoned again on 25 April and the person that was assisting me and promised to phone me back was on leave. I spoke to the supervisor and he told me the same thing - that he would phone back. On 29 April I received a call from the person who I e-mailed and he asked me to contact him again on Friday 2 May again to give him an opportunity to investigate. When I phoned on Friday I was told that he is in Joburg and I should phone on Monday 5 May. When I phoned on Monday, he said that he was still following up. It is now Thursday 8 May, 3 months after I applied and followed up a few times and I am still waiting for someone to assist me. I need the money and I have many things I need to pay. How long could it possibly take to follow up on a query?
