Escrow Error, now they want $310 more per month

My wife and I are on fixed income but managed to be responsible and maintain all our payments to everyone throughout all this national financial crisis, for over 7 years. We waiting patiently to apply for HARP 2.0 refinancing to lower our interest rate in 2012.. Our payment for our home was dropped to $930 a month, the representative even call us to tell us they made a mistake on account and our payment was lower than at the closing.. great and we moved on and paid our mortgage for all of 2013.. $930 a month..

Come this year Jan 2014, I receive a new escrow analysis, to our shock it said our account was over $2,000 negative and that we must come up with an additional $309 a month!!! The NationStar rep gave me her name and admitted they made this escrow mistake for us and many other NS customers.. She explained that they failed to add in the cost of the MIP insurance for 2013...

Sound familiar here...?? I see others making the same problem public about this company.. Seem they have a habit of doing this to people then asking them to pay for their mistake.. They have asked me to pay the difference over 2 years and recently over 5 years.. but hey don't understand the meaning of a FIXED INCOME.... there is no extra money left over to cover others mistakes.. I told them they need to pay for their mistakes.

They informed me to continue to make the original $930 a month payment until they worked this out over the next 30 to 60 days, which I have done..
I just learned today that following their instructions of sending my normal payment, and not the one they wanted that would have covered their error of over $1200 a month... the company placed the money I sent them in a holding account and not toward my mortgage, I learned that my credit is now going to be affected, for not paying my mortgage! Huh? ...

Yea, I followed there instruction and now they are going to "TRY" and screw my credit score that we worked so hard to preserve..

It's time that all of us that trusted NationStar to properly handle our escrow money and got screwed by there in ability to follow best customer practices to "JOIN FORCES".. I'm sure state Aty Generals and banking officials would love to hear from us collectively and a class action suit is possible...

I'll check back here in a week to see if there are others that want to join a growing list of screwed over home owners. Ill provide my name and email and we can go from there to the attorneys..

Horrible

Not sure of where to go, but if there is a Class Action Lawsuit, I want to find out how and where to sign up. We have had horrible service since they took over our loan. Keep switching people that we are supposed to talk to, not crediting our payments etc. Any advice would be appreciated!

Casualty insurance deducted from escrow

Money for a Casualty insurance policy was deducted from escrow illegally.

I already had insurance on the property and they took money for a second policy which is against the law in Colorado.

When they bought the loan from BOA they did not ask BOA or were not furnished with the fact that I had insurance.

I sold the property the same month that it happened so I didn't catch it until I was reconciling the account.

It has been since November that I have filed complaints, including with Senior VP's and the director of Escrow and they are yet to reimburse me.

NationStar- file a Complaint with the BBB Now Everyone!

I have had the same ridiculous, frustrating run-around...put on hold, have to listen to 3 minutes of "menus" and all I want is to talk to a LIVE person...transferred to "Quicken Loans" since they are now handling NationStar's processing. What?!? Arghhhhh. I don't want Quicken, or to talk to someone in a cubicle...I want to talk to a live/living-breathing loan officer who can consider our loan for an in-house modification!!!

What they do is illegal: ignoring, putting off customers hoping they will get us to lose interest and just keep paying their unconscionable interest rates without a fight.
First....Everyone needs to file an on-line complaint with the Better Business Bureau...we have GOT to get their rating low to reflect reality and make their company wake up and SERVE its costomers.

Go here, it takes 5 minutes, and it will help us all in the end. Just input your zip code and you are on your way :) http://www.bbb.org/

NationStar Mortgage

NationStar Mortgage has not provided me with ANY information about my mortgage.
One time when I called, Nationstar said they could not talk to me because I am in bankruptcy. My home was not included in the bankruptcy. I was told I would be mailed a coupon book but did not receive one.
Since then I have contacted Nationstar by phone, mail and fax and have received no reply. I do not get a monthly statement.
I have no idea of the status of my mortgage.
I have sent release forms from my bankruptcy lawyer several times but Nationstar has never responded.

I send my payment every month but the only record I have are copies of the checks and my bank statement.

How can I find out information on the status of my loan?

Double/Triple Billing Bank Account

Has anyone successfully resolved their issues with Nationstar Mortgage? I would appreciate any suggestions, advice, recommendations on how to deal with this company. I cannot understand how NS has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and they cause so many to experience undue financial hardship and stress.

Harassment

These people are unreal with the harassing phone calls. I have never missed a mortgage payment or been late beyond thee 17the. Unfortunately my mortgage was sold to theem from Bank of America. From thee frying pan into thee fire. My mortgage is due in thee 1st of each monthe. It is considered late on thee 17the of thee monthe. If theey do not receive thee payment on or before thee 1st, theey will harass you everyday until theey receive payment. They will call you 5 times a day and more. The people you talk to have no idea what is going on withe each otheer. They blame thee problems on thee otheer departments. Even when you pay theem, it will not clear internally for some reason anywhere from 1 to 3 days. These people you talk to on thee phone will tell you it has not cleared theere department yet. I believe thee only way theat theey can get mortgages is by buying theem therough otheer lenders. Because I can not see anybody using theem on theeir own. Good luck if you use theem.

Harassment

I just sent them a letter directing no further contact under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act for the same thing. Harassing calls claiming the mortgage is past due when, as you say, it is not. No human being at the number they leave; just press 4; press 2 hell.Costs them nothing to robo-call everybody and harass them into submission.

Mortgage Thiefs

They are absolute crooks & have been stealing my mortgage payments for almost a year now. My payments are automactily deducted from my checking account on the due date every month. I have every receipt where they have taken my money out of my checking account yet they have not applied any of the money to my account. I have tried to refinance the house but Nationstar tells the bank that I am not current on my payments even though they have taken the money out of my checking. This is the most frustrating situation, I have never been late on a single payment in 17 years but because of them my credit has been ruined! They are the worstt kind of scam artist trying to steal peoples homes.

Mortgage Thiefs

This same thing is happening to me now. I've been through twice in six months. I have an automatic payment go out every month. They have "lost" at least two payments and every payment they have credited me for has been in an odd (lower) amount. They have now begun to deduct odd amounts and are saying I'm behind, when my verified bank statements prove that I've been on time every month. Does anyone know how I can get throught to these crooks?

Terrible everything

I went to the same high school (Bunnell) and college (UConn) as Tony Barone. He has probably made millions working in the mortgage business, but ethically speaking, it sounds like he's a bigtime scumbag. This is what happens with the lack of regulation in the banking industry. He's lucky that he is not in jail, but then again corporate criminals are able to get away with it most of the time.

Fees

Nationstar Mortgage is one of the biggest rip offs ever!!! If you can avoid using them, do so...AT ANY COST!!! Forget them working with the consumer to try to get on track, they freakin screw you every chance they get with every fee they can. This nation is going to hell in a handbasket, because of corporate America's greed. No matter how you try to make a payment, with the exception of using a check, they charge you!!! You make a payment with a rep to avoid a late fee, they charge you! You make an internet payment, they charge you. You try to breath, they charge you!!!

Escrow Account

The same thing has just happened to me. I re-fied back in 2010, the first two payments were normal, then the payments dropped and I thought it was a re-analysis or something, I just pay the monthly statement I get. I recently opened up the new annual disclosure and my escrow is over $2000 short!!! My jaw about dropped, seems NationStar forgot to add the MIP into the statements after the first two re-fi payments, so now they are charging me over $200 a month on top of the mortgage payment for the next year! This is crazy! The interesting thing is the MIP is an assurance to the mortgage company in case you don't pay your mortgage. I have never been late or missed a payment, so I still owe them back pay for assurance that was met? And of course, I could get nowhere in finding where the problem had arised when talking to their escrow department. My broker and I had to find out where NationStar made the mistake!

PRACTICE

When your lending company thinks you are having difficulty with making mortgage payments, they SELL YOUR LOAN to the Nationstar collection agency GOONS for a dime on the dollar. They (Nationstar) make money getting two dimes (or more) than they payed by engaging in various goon-like practices for your money. TO my knowledge, THIS IS LEGAL. . Nationstar is essentially a collection agency. Thank your old loan provider for this wonderful selling-your-loan to Nationstar practice.

PRACTICE

EXACTLY. I found this out recently after 2 years that they are a collection agency, nothing more than a servicer! I am underwater on my house so I refuse to pay them. I will be a renter in the long run.

Escrow

Nation-star opened an escrow on our house 4 years ago without even sending any papers. We received a notice that our house was in foreclosure due to non payment. I called and asked how come and they notified me that We were not making our full payment. Our house payments went up $50.00 a month for 4 years without knowing it and had to borrow money from friends to get our house out of foreclosure. Plus not only es crowing our taxes, they escrow hazard insurance on our house, when we have full coverage on our house. I have been dealing with Nation-star for 4 years. The same stuff over and over again. We now owe more than our house is worth, and now we can't hardly afford the payments. We live on disability and we tried to do their modification and said we didn't qualify and all kinds of non sense. Plus I've sent them their signed papers not to open escrows and they still do it.. I wish their was someone out there to help us. Lawyers charge 180.00 an hr. We can't afford that...
