rude manager

I believe the sales associate told me the managers name is Christina - short gurl with long blonde hair. I had a return I purchased an item that should've been included in the bogo offer - she proceeded to be rude about it making it seem as it was my fault and stated "I guess I'm just going to have to return it all and you re-buy it". She needs to fix her face from frowning and get some customer service skills - her rudeness was very unacceptable. And the way I heard her talk to the sales associate was ridiculous - she can't treat people how she wants because she feels like she can. I hope this is addressed with her.

Horrible Job

When I started working at Rue21 I was excited to be working retail plus I was 17 so I thought it would be a good spot. Everything was going great until Black Friday where the SM asked if I would work longer I told her I couldn't because I already had plans and she got mad and walked away and went to go talk about me to another assistant manager. Ever since that day the SM would be rude and talk about me with the other managers. I know because I was close to them and they would tell me. She stopped giving me hours because she said when I worked with her I "didn't do anything" which was definitely wrong because when I would work with her all I would do was clean and help customers because I didn't like working there with her because of how she would talk about me. It never got better I still never got any hours so I just started looking for a new job and she just took me off the schedule completely. Moral of the story I wouldn't work here with bad management especially when the store manager is supposed to there to help not talk about employees.

Unprofessional

Worked there for 6 years only to have job torrent out of my hands by their LP Guy you come at me with your accusations you need to have your facts straight before approaching corporate needs to train their district managers and LP guys better with more professional training then whenever a person is terminated and they have inventory all the blame is on them little does corporate know that shady people are ringing at fragrance until the actual marchandise just to meet their fragrance goals

Stupid managers

A manager the name of Lainey. Had the nerve to not help her associates while they were in the check out just to make a sale . So hat she can look good . Makes me sick to the stomach the attitude that she had that day was not nessasary. The point were she say there and let her associates get yelled at by customers and not taking up for hem like it's not her store is crazy to me. Attitudes like this is in people character there is no fixing this. She honestly is just gonna run people away from rue 21 despite how great she makes maplewood look on paper but not for too long ! Be smart rue 21 pick better managers!!!!!! Don't be crazy and keep her and her numbers go down and she gets fired ! Save yourself some time ! BE SMART !!!

Store and products

Was at the rue21 in concord mills mall, 01/02/2016, store was very nasty with clothes in the floor a!l over, clothes just piled on tables, had to wait in checkout line for 30 minutes, bought candy that was outdated and faster like the nasty smelling perfumes the store serlls. Make stores right or close.

online customer service suck

I just want to write to customer service that I am very upset, I placed an online order and the order duplicated. Once I realize the order was duplicated I emailed customer service right away and sent 5 emails requesting for the order to be cancelled. It was not my fault that customer was not open during my order. You sent me a special offer to order without shipping at 10 pm which conveniently it was when customer service was closed, then I had an issue with my order you couldn't fix it the next morning how crazy. Then the very not helpful customer rep said I had 30 minutes to cancel my order. My question to you who was I was supposed to contact within 30 minutes if customer service is closed??? I emailed immediately after placing the order. I am irate my card was charged for 6 shirts which means there is 2 of each shirt being shipped. How stupid is that? And there was no way to stop the processing or shipping.

I am irate and I will never order online which this company again... FYI I ordered just about every week. I have another order in the mail right now as well.

Rue does not rock

I've worked for rue21 for almost two years. In those two years, I've only done my job. At the end of my time there, everyone seemed nice and supportive of me due to my mental illness that was enabling me to be the happiest, peppiest person. When I decided to go after another job that provided a better title, better pay and good hours, I took it and my boss was not happy. All of a sudden there were all of these complaints towards me about how all of the managers said I was awful to work with. First off, I did my job and I did my job well. I talked to my customers, provided great customer service, kept my zone well maintained and developed good relationships with my fellow coworkers. I liked my job until I was constantly told that there was a problem with me by managers. I thought I was in good graces with everyone. When my boss sat me down to tell me she was going to cut my two weeks, she told me "don't burn the hand that feeds you" which is the wrong saying but it was said. She also had another manager there as witness so it was basically two vs one. At the end of it all I was banned from the store for some reason though it was completely unnecessary. I've dealt with many things from this job. Trying to make it to work right after school knowing that I have a long bus ride. It would be so I would have to leave school early to make it there on time. There's been many times where I was asked to clock out but stay and basically work off the clock. Though I agreed, it was because you basically have to do it or your hours get cut or you're a bad employee. When my manager wants people she doesn't like to quit, she'll give them no hours for the week to try to push them out. I've also saw in some instances where she tried to get managers to quit by hiring other managers. It's not fair and I feel for the people who are stuck there. I'm sorry.

Gift cards.

I purchased an e gift card online 4 days ago... And never received it. I've been on the phone with customer service DAILY and still haven't received it!!! CS keeps giving me the roundabout on the problem! Calling again tomorrow and if they don't fix it, I WILL be reporting them.

Management

I have been an employee for rue21 for almost 6 months now and I have never seen anyone be treated the way we are treated. We are harassed and told to sell fragrances constantly and are treated like we're less than a person. A manager has talked about me and other employees and has been completely unprofessional. We are disrespected and get blamed for every thing that goes wrong. I would never encourage anyone to work there and I refuse to show up to work anymore because of the level of unfairness that is thrown around.

Management

I have worked at rue 21 for close to 6 months and at first I loved it but now this is the WORST job anyone could have the managers and unprofessional and talk about you to other associates and their all around rude and disrespectful. I would never tell anyone to work there because no one she be treated the way they treat us. In the 6 months our store has been open 5 people have quit because of this, and today will be my last day to I don't recommend anyone work or shop there.

Rude Managment

I called the store to ask if a coupon that appeared to be online only, would work in the store. I was told by the person who answered the phone, Mindy, that it was most likely for online use only. I then asked her to scan any regular priced item and to type in the coupon and she sharply remarked, "I'm not at the register right now, and besides I'm sure it is for online use only anyways," and she hung up. I called back to the store to speak to the manager when a much more polite salesperson answered the phone, Jillian, who informed me that I had already been speaking to the manager so I asked if she could help and she said she would do what she could. She scanned the item, typed in the coupon code, and the coupon did IN FACT work in the store.
Jillian was a pleasant and helpful clerk with a kind voice and great manners. The manager is a pitiful excuse for a sales representative, much less being the manager and in charge of someone who is clearly doing a much, MUCH better job than Mindy herself is doing. I wonder how many sales she has run off claiming that the coupons won't work at the in-store location.

awful customer service

I was shopping in my local rue last week and I was so displeased by the service provided to me. I was not greeted as I walked in. Two girls were just standing behind the registers doing nothing while other customers were shopping in the store. I work in retail myself and that seemed like a loss prevention issue to me, paying no attention to the customers. I asked one of the girls (tall with long dirty blonde hair) to help me get something high up and she said, " hold on and I will help u ." As she turned back around to keep talking with the other associate. (Short girl with brown hair) I was angry told her to forget it and walked out. Lost my business that day and in the future.

Racist Management

I was recently in the Rue 21 store In Parker, Colorado and I have never heard racial comments in the work place ever in my life. I was shopping and over heard what I assumed was a manager and later came to find out it was indeed the store manger talking to one of her employees saying, "was it your idea for a picture of another employee to look all ghetto? I thought it was your idea because of your boyfriend being black." I looked at the employees face and her face was in kind of a shock because like myself I couldn't believe what I just heard. I later pulled the associate to the side to ask her a question about some merchandise and brought it to her attention that the kind of comments her manager was using was not appropriate, I come from the Aurora, Colorado area which is a little inner city and for the store manager to make a comment about someone because of the color of skin they choose to date or the area they come from is unacceptable and should be reported immediately!! I will be telling people I know that drive 40 mins to Parker Rue 21 not to shop there because I do not condone or approve of racial comments.

The employees

I purchased some clothing and perfume and asked to use the restroom after that because I was handicap with ms and my legs were bad on walking and the employee Leilani said they were too busy as her and another employee stood at the counter doing nothing. There was only a couple customers in the store. Then at the last minute they said I could get a sale if I bought another pair of shorts so I did. Well I got out to my car and didn't have my keys that were on the counter. They were no help on looking for them and I was almost ready to call the police when they said maybe they were where you got your shorts and that's where they were. But they were no help. Then my daughter they took her email address for her purchase for to give coupons but never did for me. Im so pissed. My daughter loves the place but I am so mad that I don't think id go there again.Store #01045

Complaint about a manager

I spent over $400.00 in rue 21 the week of Black Friday and I had several receipts from there and when I went in to return 5 items the assistant manager said the 5th item wasn't in any of the receipts and I said ok I'll take a gift card. She said "u can't get a gift card for something u didn't buy!" I said I did buy that blouse and your not keeping the blouse I paid for! She replied "it's not on any of the receipts u have me so obviously u did not pay for it and u can not get a gift card if u didn't pay for it! And we were yelling at each other so the manager came over and told her "your on the floor, go! And I'll take care of this! And she said to me "your talking to me, your talking to me now! Don't worry about her!" And she was using arm motions toward my face and back to herself as she said those words!! I said she told me I did not pay for that blouse and I can't have a gift card for something I didn't pay for! And she replied "no she didn't!" And I said don't u defend her ! We're u standing here!? She said no!! Okay then! And I said well why wouldn't she give me a gift card then? And she replied "I'll take care of it!" I dug in my purse and I did find the rexeipt!!! Thankfully! I was so humiliated and embarassed! I felt like I was being accused of stealing! Which is illegal to do and is a lawsuit!! I took everything back to the store that I had bought and I will never shop there again and I will tell everyone I know about this!!

Horrible Job

I work at my hometown's Rue 21, for seven months (when it first opened).I did love the job at first, but then my boss wanted me to make sure that the WHOLE store was clean. It was not fair, only being a teenager it was to much pressure. Days I had to go out of town my boss put me down to WORK! I DON'T recommend PEOPLE WORKING IN THIS STORE. WHAT THIS STORE REALLY NEEDS IS A NEW MANAGER WHO IS WILLING TO TREAT THEIR EMPLOYEES WITH THE RESPECT THEY TRULY DESERVE, OTHERWISE THE STORE IS GOING TO COME TO IN END; SINCE ABOUT 30 PEOPLE HAVE QUIT SINCE IT OPENED IN November 2013!!!!!!!

Horrible Managers

I have worked for Rue 21 for about 4 months. At the beginning I loved it. I was so excited, I had the ideal job for a teenager. Well that quickly changed when I would go to work and my manager would treat me like crap and tell me fix this section, but in the process of fixing the section of the store I was assigned to being told to do my manager favors, then when closing comes and I don't have my section done, I get told I am too slow! The thing I hate the most is when I work the required amount of hours to get a break and I do not get one. I get even more upset when I work enough hours to get a lunch and I work all the way through my shift with no dinner!! I go without breaks many times but my managers always make sure they get their breaks! Many breaks, my managers will take many 10 minute breaks which last way longer than 10 minutes. I am constantly being insulted. I ask a question, or hit the wrong button on the register, and I get attitude from my manager when I ask for help. My managers act like its such a hassle to help me, but guess what? THAT'S THEIR JOB!! Most days I go to work I am the only one working. My manager is a chatter-bug. She will stand around doing nothing and talk to other employees, she will even pull out her cell phone and make personal phone calls. I am tired of this! I understand it is just a teenager job, but NOBODY should be treated the way I get treated on a daily basis at work. I am a human being with a brain that knows a lot. I don't deserve this. Nobody does. I would not recommend anyone to work for Rue 21!!

Rue smells bad

I've been wotking at rue for 10 months now for minimum wage -_- whatever. anyway when I first started it wasnt too bad with the whole fragrence thing (perhaps because nobody told me your suppost to mark yourself for every fragrence you get until i worked there for a month). lately we havent been making our goal, sorry it's beacuse we've moved to a new location and make too much money, still sell 30 fragrences, and its killing our percentage. Im sooooo sorry that i cant sell intense, rue for guys, sparkel, rue fo girls, and tarea maybe it's because they smell like toilet water. I'm quitting the second june hits and my job starts at a summer camp watching children (who I rather dislike).
