SPS Modification/Scam

My mortgage was bought out by SPS and for a while everything was fine. I lost my job and was able to get a modification with SPS. When I had storm damage which my homeowners insurance didn't cover as it was just below the 1% deductible so I used my mortgage payment to fix some of the damages to the roof with my mortgage payment and I also I fell and broke elbow so I had medical expenses as well which I got behind on my mortgage payments. I called SPS and was told to apply for mortgage assistance as I just wanted to pay back my arrears in a payment plan so I was approved for to pay back at $847 a month for a year. I was doing really well when in Feb, 2016, my air conditioner started leaking water into the unit and wouldn't drain. I called my homeowners insurance and they said it wasn't covered since it was the coil and I would be responsible to repair it. I had barely got these news and I informed SPS about the situation explaining I could pay them a double payment in August 2016 when I received my student loan so that I could catch up my repayment plan and they said fine. On April 2016, the worst hail storm to hit San Antonio and my home took a hit on the roof. I called my homeowners insurance and once again they denied my claim. I never got a reason why other than they would not fix my roof so I once again had to fix some of the roof so that I wouldn't have more damage to my home. I called SPS letting them know what happened and would send payment but it would be delayed as I had to make more repairs to the roof and they seemed understanding. I received a letter from SPS that my house was going into foreclosure. I immediately called them back and told them what happened. I asked can't I just send my mortgage payment and I will send more once I get my student loan? They would not accept my mortgage payment and would return it back to me. They informed me to apply for a modification. I told them I was happy with my mortgage payment but couldn't they just apply the arrears to the end of my loan or let me restart my repayment plan? So I sent in the documents needed for modification, pay stubs, hardship letter, mortgage assistance, tax returns, budget, etc., only to be denied. They wanted $5500 in order to get caught up and this amount included attorneys fees for putting my house in foreclosure! I told them I didn't have that kind of money but I could borrow from my student loan and give them half one semester and the other half the semester and they said No, they wanted the whole amount. I got with NACA a non-profit that assists homeowners with their mortgage and they helped me in 2009 when I lost my job of 20 years and got my home modified with Bank of America (prior Countrywide Home Loans) but I digress, they told me to fill out modification forms and they would submit to SPS. All of this was done and no response from SPS. SPS told me that NACA needs to contact their relationship manager Carrie Knight and NACA told me they are supposed to contact them so I can't get them to communicate with each other. Once again, it was denied. When I spoke with SPS in August, 2016 and asked why they denied the modification, they said it was due to income. How can that be when you approved a repayment plan at a higher amount of my mortgage on the same income submitted? They wanted me to work another job to get more income but I am going to school at night part-time to get a higher paying job. I asked them as I am borrowing student loan to also supplement my income as I can't work a second job while attending school could I put that down as income. He said yes and told me to reapply so I did as they asked, resent more documents again and it seems like I'm getting the runaround. I just got the news yesterday that they denied my modification. I spoke with a lady named Chanelle Conolly last night and I asked if they even looked at NACA's restructure of my modification for the life of the loan as that was a workable solution for both parties and she said they considered everything. I told her it just seems like they are not trying real hard to help me save my home. She said I didn't qualify for the programs they have and they did try to help which I don't believe! I am so disappointed and disgusted with this company! At least Bank of America worked with me and were more personable. SPS gave me the runaround and just had me running around trying to get all of the documents sent to them multiple times and all for nothing! There was no concern or empathy! The feeling I got was that they just don't care and want my home so I am fighting but I don't know what else to do other than file bankruptcy but I don't want to do that as my lawyer says I will need more income so I will have to quit school and my student loans will come calling! I don't know what to do!

SPS

I'm having the same problem as everyone else. I have requested several times copies of the documents for the 3 modifications I supposable had back in 2010,2011 and 2013, correspondence they supposedly mailed. Have contacted them several time asking to speak with my relationship manager which she is never available. I'm always giving the runaround. Have been denied for a modification recently because supposable I have been approved for 3 in the past which I have no records of previous modification. I just received a letter from them stating to take action to avoid the loss of my properly.

PLEASE HELP!!!!

My sister has been dealing with SPS for a very very long time. They are constantly losing papers, never call back, you never talk to the same person, etc. etc. Why is it that we can't start a suit against them? They have been ripping people off for years and nothing has been done. Who do we go to? How do we fight back? My sister's mortgage has not even shown signs of ever being paid off!!
PLEASE IF ANYONE KNOWS OF SOMEONE WHO IS FIGHTING AGAINST THESE MONSTERS PLEASE...LET US KNOW.

I could go on and on about their unfair practices. I am interested in knowing if anyone has any class action suits filed on SPS? My house in Tennessee was wrongfully sold out from under me by this group. I have been attempting to get it back for the past nine years. If anyone has info of any class action that I can join or if there is a particular Lawyer that is familiar with SPS and their Tactics who would be interested in representing me please contact me at [email protected]

Modification

We applied for a loan modification, after resending paperwork several times, we were approved. We finally received the letter with our offer. The offer 7.5 percent interest, the same rate we already have, with a higher payment and two more years to our mortgage. What an insult to my intelligence. We're can I report this company? Should we see a lawyer?

Modification

We applied for a loan modification, after months of sending paperwork two and three times, we were approved. We paid a higher payment in the three month trail, then we received a letter with our offer. To our surprise they came back with the same 7.5 interest rate we are paying now with a higher payment and added to more years to our mortgage, do they think I'm stupid what an insult. What can I do to report this company?

Select Portfolio Servcing - SPS

SPS is owned by a foreign company that does not care about American homeowners. I am contacting Credit Suisse as SPS has fabricated numbers and results for our Net Present Values to qualify for a US government HAMP loan modification. We are writing to Credit Suisse about the ethics claimed in their annual report.

Select Portfolio Servicing Inc.

I initiated a modification agreement with SPServicing and a HUD resource named Parkview Services located in the Seattle area. The modification was agreed upon by all parties. Not long after I initiated making my modified loan payments to SPS and too after they had agreed to all of the tetms of my modification, they initiated both fruadulent and deceptive practices. In addition during their fraudulent activity they attempted to foreclose upon my property. During my modification process SPS purposely shutdown my account making it difficult to send payments then attempted to assert I was late on my payments or didnt make payments. I contacted teps of the HUD agency who documented all of the fraudulent activity of SPS on my behalf. Too, the HUD agency made several attempts to get SPS to act according to the tetms of the modification agreement which SPS defied all attempts with the aim of going forward with a foreclosure and short sale of my property.

Select Portfolio Servicing fraud

I have kept a couple or complaints going and wanted to add another chapter to the ongoing fraudulent, lies and deception they continue to provide. I was stupid enough in giving them the benefit of the doubt of their modification process to find out everything they initially stated and agreed upon turned out to be a big lie. I however, after listening to my mother deal with them for the last several years I have taken on the task to deal with the extremely fraudulent and liars. I am sick of them and have had enough, the resolution management team are a joke and a waste of a phone call or conversation, you never receive the same answer twice from anyone including the one assigned to your case. However, SPS thought they were smart enough to try to pull something over on me having to hear all of the broken promises and thousands of threatening phones calls received from them over the years. To make a long story short, I thought I would ensure to cover my back and decided to also record all of my communication with them and have caught them in so many lies and inconsistencies is unbelievable! I share the same where the original loan was $58,000.00 having payments made monthly never missing one or ever late since 1992 to now be $52,000.00. They continue to add late fees, miscellaneous fees, etc.... The SPS Reso Team has refused to provide an executive level complaint contact but chose to provide an email address, don't waste your time this email box goes to the same worthless team of liars!

stalled on Deed in Lieu

Several times trying for DIL. They finally tell me all is approved and I need to vacate home. Two months later and many phone calls they say it was denied because they needed updated letter of acceptance from second lien holder. They sat on the DIL approval and offered no explanation. I was calling everyday. Second lien holder would not approve the offer when I called, they had changed their policies. SPS takes pride in screwing homeowners over. To tell us approved and to scramble to find a place to live only to have them push it aside. They had no intention of helping. Too much stress. I got my keys back and let a friend move in. Will file complaint with BBB. Anyone know of a class action lawsuit?

Fraud

I to have my loan servicing transferred to SPS, this happened shortly after I received modification from HSBC mortgage. According to my 1098 tax statements in September 2014 I owed $123,000 on my house. October sps took over, I have not missed any payments they have contacted me numerous times to raise my payment amounts because of my escrow account was short (taxes went down insurance hasn't changed) and now I come to find out that the principal on my house is 1190000 but the payoff is $172,000 when it was 133000 prior to sps getting involved. Scandalous criminals....... someone please explain how they can get away with this....

Lack of Good Faith Dealing regarding Short sale

I am an attorney and real estate broker. I have been attempting to facilitate a shortsale on a property I am listing for a client. After over four months of receiving requests for documents I have previously submitted, and after SP Servicing REFUSING to counter to not one, but two offers, I am at wits end. I will be filing a lawsuit shortly. The lender continuously LIES, making representations they don't deliver on, constantly saying the issue is being escalated, fast tracked, or otherwise being sent to someone [higher up] to look into complaints. Two BPO's were performed. The first was about 10-20,000 too high. I disputed it (BIG MISTAKE) and they took 30 days to respond that they stood by their BPO, despite me providing sales of IDENTICAL floorplan properties within 100 feet of the subject. Then, because the BPO had been over 6 months old, they performed another. This time their valuation went up by $8,000, despite additional sales of IDENTICAL floorplan properties (its a very popular floorplan in the neighborhood) selling for 5000 to 10,000 less. Plus these other properties had amenities such as granite countertops, swimming pool, corner lot, fenced in yard, etc, which the subject property had NONE of.
THESE PEOPLE ARE EITHER MORONS or they are intentionally perpetrating a fraud, violating numerous laws and regulations. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they are intentionally frustrating a short sale, so they can foreclose and get another realtor to sell the house, thereby receiving illegal kickbacks.

IF YOU DO attempt to negotiate a short sale, if they begin by telling you it will very possibly take 4 to 8 weeks, you're in trouble. That's the first lie. The customer service relationship manager will also constantly present inaccurate information, even to very simple, specific questions. This is either due to the fact they are inept MORONS as well and don't have a clue about what they are saying, or they are being systematically deceived by their superiors and think they're telling the truth. One final explanation is they are being instructed to give evasive and or inaccurate responses, or worse yet, to out right deceive the borrower.

Bringing complaints to the Ombudsman are equally futile. I never thought I'd say this, but there is a WORSE company than OCWEN. Select Portfolio Servicing is the most problematic loan servicer I have had the unfortunate opportunity to work with.
If you would have any questions or more information regarding SP Servicing and their illegal business practices, please contact me at [email protected]. The soon to be filed lawsuit can be amended to a Class Action.

Ongoing problems

I am following up to my ongoing unsuccessful requests and resolution to our ongoing problems with Select Portfolio Servicing based in Salt Lake City, Utah. we are going on 2 years of asking for the same information, copies of payments, taxes paid, correspondence they supposedly mailed outlining resolution and or status to the multiple requests. We receive in a daily basis, correspondence containing requests asking for information sent to them multiple times, receiving calls from incompetent representatives who are completely clueless about the ongoing requests, status or anything pertaining to our ongoing dilemma. I have had over 20 calls in the last 3 months, to attempt to clear up problems SPS created my their mismanagement ability, back office follow-up and poorly trained representatives from this company. Based on the number of ongoing issues I have reached out to the Law Firm who recently won a multi-billion dollar lawsuit against another mortgage company having the same behavior and poor service SPS represents. I will continue to outline and document our ongoing unresolved requests and problems created by SPS.

7 months and still need more documents for my modification laon

I filed for a modification in November of 2014. I have sent in everything thru via certified mail because, 4 fax numbers do not work.
The online system does not let you load up documents, says they are too big. The email, well they never get them even tho I
get a confirmation. Delay, Delay and more Delay. It is 7 months later and they still need more documents. urrrr.
On top of that I was dumb enough to get an arm loan in 2006 and they have raised my interest up twice in 6 months.
I have been running about 33 days late due to my payment going from $667 to $890 within the last 6 months.

So, I get a letter in the mail saying they will pay me $10,000 to move if I foreclose on my home.

I get high blood pressure just thinking about it.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Operation of SPS

My loan was transferred to Select Portfolio from Springleaf - this is a loan for land only -no dwellings or structures - the first thing they did was tell me they were going to bill me for insurance because I did not have any on the loan and it was required. I called them and told them it was not required - no dwellings or structures and it had never been required and to look at the loan papers and they would see that. They said they did not have access to them - how could they take over a loan and not have access to the original terms? They said it was up to me to verify that there was no structures - after 3 phone calls and talking to 3 different departments I finally got it straightened out. Another problem they will charge you $15.00 if you make a payment online. My payment is due by the 7th of the month and I don't receive a statement until the 1st day of the month it is due. I go in and print off my statement and send the payment overnight so they can't say they didn't receive it. When I have mailed it in the past 10 days before it was due they said they did not receive it by the due date. I told Springleaf this was the worse thing they could have done to transfer this to SPS - never again.

Violation of Fair Reporting Act

After reading the many complains I felt it is time to also express our concerns. Our Loan was sold to SPS several years back. Once this has occurred we receive several calls daily from several different locations SPS houses their Customer Service offices. We continually have to provide validation of our payments which they claim having to record of. Listing us as delinquent of 30 - 120 days depending on the month. Each time an explanation is provided to one of their many incompetent service representatives whom have never documented our conversations leaving us with continued harassing calls daily and at all hours starting at 8am MDT and as late as 10pm MDT. Enough is enough and a wide customer consumer lawsuit is needed before several individuals begin to lose their homes due to an extremely bad company responsible for handling home loans.

Violation of Fair Credit Reporting Act

My loan was transferred to SPS from BAnk of America on Oct 2012. BofA had reported it 120 late but it was never that late. They eventually corrected their listing and sent SPS $2246 they had failed to send when transferred. SPS continually showed me 90-120 late even after they received the monies from BofA. This cleared up my arrears but SPS continued to do a modification and never posted any payments although they were never late for over 18 months. They said they could post whatever they wanted and for me to go to Hell. After several dozen letters they corrected it and properly corrected the reports. Then after about 5 months of doing it right they are now again in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. What does it take to make Matt Hollingsworth and Credit Sussie of Boston and Credit Sussie of Switzerland to understand the liabilities of this fraud. Sure hope to find an ambulance chasing lawyer to get an eight figure settlement for me.
