Scam company

Is anyone interesting in joining .e to file a class lawsuit against this so-called warranty company? I am searching for a lawyer. This company was once sued by the state of Tennessee the denied claims!

Claim denied

Got a policy with this company and about 2 weeks after my 30 days my ac went out. I filed a claim was told it was my compressor. I had no idea something was worh my ac. They sent me a email ro call them and I did the lady was rude and told me that they denied my claim. I told the lady I did not think that was right and they have false advertisement because I was told it would be covered once my 30 days kicked in. She sent me a email with a phone number saying this is the number to cancel your contract. I called and spoke wirh a manager named Andy I told him they have false advertising and he said they should not be responsible to pay hundreds of dollars for me when I only had the policy for 40 days. I told him I hated to file a claim but who knew this would happen we have had atorms back to back in my area for a few weeks and anything could happen. He advised me not to cancel he would give me a month free and my service fee would be $45. I told him I could save my money and purchase some window units he talked to me like I was poor and couldn't afford it. After arguing with him about 20 minutes he finally said fine but you ain't getting a refund. This company is a scam and will not pay claims they will find an excuse why they should not. Do not use this conpany.

This company is a scam

If you are thinking on getting this insurance, read the fine print in their contract first. At the end, you may be paying an expensive insurance that covers almost nothing. We had two claims and both were denied. They advertise that they will replace your appliance when needed, but it is all misleading as they have fine print in their contracts that gives them a way out from approving a claim. In addition, the technicians that they work with are not real companies (all their emails are gmail.com, yahoo.com, etc.) and do not carry enough insurance or are not bonded. Do not waste your money; the concept is good, but this company is in only for a profit.

Offensive and Arrogant Sales Department

Before I even got as far as getting a quote from these arrogant pigs, I decided not to use their services.
I first spoke to a person a few days ago - a man. I asked relevant questions to do with AC coverage. He would not give me a straight answer when I asked if they covered AC lines.
He refused to answer me and the call got 'cut off'.
I called again today and asked to speak to a woman in sales and was put through to 'Sheila'. It was obviously a man playing the fool with me.... that is how this company runs their business.
While I was speaking to 'Sheila', the line went dead.
So I called again and spoke to another unknown male. I asked to be put through to a female representative and he asked me why. I explained that I find it less intimidating to speak to women in sales and that the men that I had spoken to previously had been rather condescending when I asked questions about the coverage.
He told me that there were about 80% males on the sales team, so I decided to see if I could get some answers from him about the AC coverage.
I told him that before I jumped from the frying pan into the fire, by switching from AHS to Choice, I specifically wanted to know whether the company covered leaks in AC line sets. He didn't give me a definitive yes, but said that all those details were in the agreement online. So I asked him again, if the lines were covered. He said that he had answered my question and when I told him that I'd had read the agreement and that I needed clarification on what non-covered 'modifications' meant, he rudely said to me: 'I'm emailing the agreement to you. Read it and call back when you're ready to sign up'. Who the heck are these people? is this how they are trained to pull in customers? He spoke to me as if I was a stupid female who should not be questioning the world of a superior man in sales.

I was so incensed, I called him arrogant and I put down the phone.
I called back and the same person answered the phone.... what are the chances! I've never been able to speak to the same person in a call center!
I asked to speak to a supervisor and instead of putting me on hold, he leaves the receiver up and shouts over to his supervisor, saying that there's a woman on the phone who doesn't want to speak to a man because she says that they are arrogant. He then comes back to me, saying that he is putting me through and I told him that he could at least cover the receiver when he was mis calling a potential client. I did call him stupid and so he hung up on me.
This company deserved to go down the pan with the rest of them.
I will post this up on as many review sites as I can, in the hope that people will take note and refuse to deal with such rude pigs!

Never and ever sign up with Choice Warranty. They always tried to make you to replace the whole unit without get into the root cause of the issue. The worst is that they also tried to find an excuse (mail-maintanence, uncover secondary cause,...).

Choice Home Warranty's denying claims

I have several policies with Choice and every time there is a claim, they find some kind of excuse to deny it. I have never had a claim that they covered without hassle and never in full. The have paid me less than half the cost of repairs on several claims telling me that they were helping me sine the claim is not covered but because I have several policies they wanted to help me out. I have a general contractor that has worked for me for about ten years and he tunes up the ACs in my properties every year and sends me an invoice stating that he has serviced the AC at a particular location. These invoices have always bee acceptable by my previous home warranty company but Choice, rejects them saying that it does not indicate the model number of the unit the amperage of the test and so many other things that they say are required. And the timing is absolutely ridiculous their contractors have to call for any repair costing more than $100 and since they are in the east coast, most of the time they cannot contact them until the next day. After they received their contractors' estimate, it takes them a couple of days to find a reason to deny the claim. And if the claim is registered near the weekend, well forget about any emergencies like AC not working in the heat of summer in Las Vegas, you have to wait until Monday or Tuesday to get a decision which they some times blame their contractors for not working during the weekend. As I said before, I have been with them for a few years for a few properties and I have had no claims of over $100 that has been covered in full. This company's business is to cheat their customers.

choice Warranty

Refrigerator

I have been trying to get a tech to come out to fix my refrigerator, this is the 2nd time the first time I paid for it to be fixed myself, still waiting on the $200.00 they were to give back to me. I have called for over a month. the tech that was to have come back out I can not get in touch with him. he will not answer his phone nor call back. Now they want ME to find a tech to come out to fix my refrigerator which is now not WORKING. i have called and called to try to get it fixed before it got this far and then you you want to replace it with a cheap on. This is not the first time this has happen. I have paid over a thousand dollars for this service and I am SOOoo unhappy with their service. Tried to get number for their corp. office, that is like pulling teeth. I am tried of working with them. what they need to do is to give me the remaining of my money back and I will find someone else.

Choice Home Warranty

We moved to a new area that our home warranty company of 17 years did not cover. I was forced to switch and decided on Choice. Worse decision ever.

Septic issues... Choice could not find a service company in my area. I was forced to find one on my own and they would reimburse. I submitted paperwork as instructed at least six times over three months. I called multiple times. Supposedly I will have a check in thirty days. Which is FOUR MONTHS AFTER INCIDENT.

This week my Jenn Air dishwasher broke, the repairman said that it cannot be fixed Choice has offered 179.00 dollars. ( I already paid 60 for the service fee ) so the net is 119.00. The CHEAPEST JENN AIR that I can find is 1200.00. I just want my dishwasher fixed !!!!!!!!

They will not send anyone out for second opinion. They will not replace AS PROMISED.

The advertisements state that appliances are covered regardless of age..... but only at a fraction of cost because in FINE PRINT IT EVIDENTLY STATES THAT IF PART ISNT AVAILABLE, then they won't cover replacement. Parts for older appliances will NEVER be available. That is trickery. It is underhanded and deceitful. I paid a lot for my coverage and have not been able to use it.

I think I have been misled, cheated and misguided.

Complaint

I am a customer the Choice Home Warranty have left out in the cold. I been with this company for going on 3 years. Never put in a claim and always paying my bill. In December a week be for Christmas my furnace was blowing cold air. I call and put in a claim. They sent someone out that next week. The company patch it up and said that it was on its last leg. Well a month later I wake up and my whole house was smoked up. I called the fire department and they said it was the furnace. They turned the power off so I did not have any heat in my house. I put in a claim and they sent a technician out to tell me that it my furnace motor had cracked and the blower locked and by the way it was rusty and I can 100 % guarantee that Choice Home Warranty will not cover it. Then he quoted me a price of 5000 dollars to replace the unit. They told me that it was 20 years old. My furnace was outside so how could it not get rusted. I really had respect for them until the next day Choice Home Warranty manager called me and told me what was wrong and said SORRY but you are on your own. Here I'm sitting in a cold house in the mid -winter thinking they had my back. I didn't argue with them just wanted to know why they set me up. Me and my family sitting in a cold house but yet they still taking my money.

Choice Home Warranty

DO NOT GET HOME WARRANTY FROM CHOICE HOME WARRANTY!!! They are 100% a bunch of scam artists, with a staff full of rude "customer service" representatives. They make you wait for weeks at a time to find someone to come out to your home to repair whatever it is you needed repaired, something that clearly is stated is covered, then finds some "loophole" to say that they will not cover the repair. NOT WORTH IT!!! YOU WILL REGRET USING CHOICE HOME WARRANTY!!!!!

claim denial without recourse

Choice Home Warranty finds any excuse to reject your claim. Air conditioner broke down in July 2016. They sent out a company named just better air of Tempe to fix it. It was determined that the circuit board and capacitor failed. The reason for the failure can not be determined. Choice Home Warranty said it was a power surge which would disqualify coverage. The manager of just better air called up CHW and told them that it was a failure but could not determine the cause. A CHW supervisor told me that I was not entitled to a 2nd opinion. My contract saids I can get a 2nd opinion and arbitration. After many complaints they sent me a email 3 weeks after the air conditioner was repaired that I can get a 2nd opinion at my expense. This is a RED HERRING as no technician can give a opinion after the unit is fixed. CHW idea of arbitration is a denial letter without any rebuttal. The supervisors are arrogant and not trained in customer service even telling me to go after the Air condition company claiming they said it was a power surge. THEY THREW THE REFERAL UNDER THE BUS. Sure wish I stayed with AHS.

Fraudulent Company

I had a water heater that set on fire through a mechanical/electrical fault. they couldn't get a technician out that day and said i could get a local plumber to deal with it and they would cover the invoice. They refused to pay the invoice and said they couldn't accept the claim because they don't cover tanks. I said its an electrical fault which is covered. After several weeks of dispute they refused to pay the invoice and after i wanted to cancel the policy they refused and said they have to agree to cancel which they dont want to so i dont get ot do that and get a refund

Choice Home Warranty

Hello, I will tro to be brief, but this warranty has not beenn brief about fixing my Refrigerator.
1) I paid 1275 for this warranty with a 45 co pay (I got cheap this time around and CHW had as good of reviews as the other warranty companies).
2) I called a day after my warranty started (31 days after I signed up), to report an issue with the ice maker.
3) CHW sent out tech 1. He diagnosed and said it needed a new motherboard and a fan that was inside the fridge.
4) Tech ordered parts and I waited for their approval. I called CHW and they said they were approved and on order.
5) I set up appointment with tech to have installed. he was a no show. I called CHW over the weekend and they said they'd get a 2nd technician. I found out later that apparently CHW had now declined my parts order stating that this was a pre-existing condition (meanwhile, at the end of the day - 5 months later - no one even STILL knows what the problem with my fridge is). And NO ONE could even call me to tell me this.
6) I set up appt with tech company #2. They guy was either an alcoholic, had a DUI or something. He seemed VERY out of it and had to have a guy drive him around to appointments he said (Appliance Whisperer). He diagnosed and ordered the parts.
7) I recd an email from CHW saying to call them, so after 50+ minutes on hold I could speak to someone. The person explained that it was a pre existing condition (I think those were the only words she knew). I was SOOO Ticked Off after that conversation that I hung up. I called back and spoke to someone else. CHW said that they'd split the bill 50/50. I asked for more and they said ok 40/60. The guy came back and installed the 2 parts he mentioned which cost me I think 240. One was one of the parts the first guy mentioned. The other part was the front digital readout. How is that going to fix the freezer???? Anyway - he came out again and did something with the Freon which according to the third tech, was a big NO NO! Again, are their technicians even certified with a brain? Unclear still.
8) I called back to cancel finally, after three trieswithh technician 2 (Appliance Whisperer). The CHW rep said to give them ONE more chance and we chatted for about 20 minutes total(total phone call was over an hour with wait time). he said he would do WHATEVER to get this fridge fixed and if that doesn't work they'll replace it. he said my fridge is only worth 500 based on the model # they had. I said ummm, no, even at home depot now the price is about 1500. So, anyway, almost 2 months and three-four visits my technician 3 (I will say that this company was more reliable thatvendor 1/2). They did try everything. So, after their tries they called the warranty company and told them to replace it, or they advise to replace it.
9) I get a called from CHW saying to give them a call. Well, why not just have someone call me, instead of automation???
10) I called and they said it was a pre-exsting condition and there was nothing they could do, case closed! I said, OH NO, let me talk to harry in the cancellations department. I finally after 30 minutes of being on hold, got Harry. we spoke and he said well, this WAS a pre-existing condition and there was nothing they could do. After all was said and done, he offered 500. I was SOOOOOO upset by this time. So, he saidthe usual time for a check is 60 days but he would expedite it so it should be about 30 days. We will see. More to come after I receive the check.

Air conditioner

Service has been a complete hassle. It took a month for them to find a technician in the area then denied the claim. I was lied to by the sales person I spoke to when I bought 3 warranties and made the mistake of paying for a year up front on each because the salesman told me I could cancel and get a refund at any point. Are there any attorneys out there that would like to represent all of us???? They seriously need to be put out of business.

refused to fix A/C unit under contract

I have been paying CHW for the past 7-8 months and I finally placed my first service call for my A/C unit, The technician arrived and looked at the unit, He determined it was the compressor and called the office for approval, they told him not to fix it even though it was covered under a contract. I'm retired and on a fixed income so I thought this would be a good idea but never realized they were a bunch of crooks. I do have an attorney looking into this and she has sent letters to them but really never gets a response back..I'm retired and have a lot of time on my hands, my attorney is going to file complaints to Attorney General's office, Federal Trade Commission, BBB, etc. but I will try to hit them in their pocketbook, I'm sending e-mails to all the people and company's I've had contact with through the years. I had my own business, I will also be sending info about these crooks via facebook, etc., the computer via the internet is a powerful weapon to let the consumer know to stay away from these crooks.. Now my whole goal in life is to try and shut them down through communication Better Business Bureau isn't going to stop them but if a lot of people find out about them maybe we have a chance and every time I send an e-mail out to someone explaining how they cheat people I will send them a copy

Home Choice Warranty

I have been with Home Choice Warranty for a little over 4 months. My refrigerator's compressor went out in March of '2016 and I filed a claim with Home Choice Warranty. They sent out 3 different technicians to diagnose my refrigerator. The first technician was from Pro Tech. He came out and spent about 45 minutes and diagnosed the refrigerator as having a bad compressor. He stated he would have to order the part and it would take about a week for him to come back out and fix the refrigerator. I paid this guy $60 for the trip, which was initially explained in my contract. The first technician never came back to fix the refrigerator, so basically he took my $60 and ran. I called home choice back and explained what happened and they assigned another technician to come out and check the refrigerator. This guy came from a company called QT. He was very unprofessional on the phone. His telephone etiquette was horrible and he didn't show on up to access the refrigerator after two rescheduled appointment times. This guy then called back and asked for $60, after I had already paid the guy that didn't come back. Choice Home Warranty, also sent a third technician to my home, this time this was an older gentlemen, who also stated my compressor had gone out, and he too would have to order a compressor. He then came back the second time to see if the compressor could fit and somehow he decided he couldn't fix it because it was considered a low grade refrigerator. I contacted Maytag/Whirlpool and they offered to fix the refrigerator under the manufactor's warranty for free, as a courtesy for my horrible experience with Choice Home Warranty. When Maytag/Whirpool got their company to come out and look at the refrigerator, they diagnosed the compressor was out as well, but someone cut the line. So Choice Home Warranty sent their last technician or the first one out there and they cut the wire to my refrigerator and I now need a new one. Whirlpool offered to buy out my refrigerator for $320 for a new one delivery and all, with an extended warranty for the trouble and inconvenience. They did not have an estimated time of arrival for the part of the line that the technicians had cut. They damaged my refrigerator, to the point where I have to spend over $300 to get the refrigerator fixed. I have paid them nearly $200 for the monthly fees and $60 for the trip. I am filing a formal complaint to the Board of Directors for them, to either reimburse me all the monies I have paid out or either pay $320 for cost of the repair. I will never recommend this place to anyone. They are rip offs and the Retention Manager, told me it would be a waist of my time to file a formal complaint. I'm disgusted.

THEY DO NOT PAY THEIR VENDORS AND A PART THAT THE VENDOR MAY HAVE WILL NOT BE USED AND YOU WILL NEED TO WAIT ON CHOICE TO SUPPLY THE PART AND THAT JUST HAD TAKEN ME 3 WEEKS TO GET TWO PARTS.

CHW refused claim to repair aircondition

Our claim for our aircondition was denied. Was told it take 2 days days for phone calls to be returned and 30 days to deputer claims ,not true. Tracy the mediator take her sweet time with a nice nasty attitude. They are a rip off.I sent an email May 25th, they sent me an email on July 23 claim denied once again, is that 30 days.

Heat pump

I have had my warranty or big joke agreement for 8 months 1st claim my water heater went something like this ,sorry it's leaking we don't cover leaks.The only technician they could get was 70 miles away because no one will work with them .I told them to cancel and they agreed to pay a small portion of the claim .5/ 28 my heat pump stops working .The technician comes out 2 days later really a great guy ,we try to call them to see if they could go ahead and fix it ,the unit was out of freon and obviously had a leak after 55 minutes on the phone he was told to take photos of the leak ,WHAT how do you take photos of a leak ,he left .Air still not on 90% in my home I just did not know what to do other than call I called put in my claim # as instructed ,after 1 hour on hold I called on my cell phone did not put in my claim # and it was answered in 5 minutes .I was told very rudely there was nothing they could do and the cancellation department opened on Monday .What can I do I have cancer not in good health and purchased this in good faith thinking I was being very smart .I wonder how to join the class action law suit ?

Company charged my MasterCard 70.00 dollars on 5-5-2015 and 35.00 dollars on 5-6-2015 when it should of been 35.00 dollars. When I called I was told they would fix it and call me back in a couple hours.I never got a call back so I called back and asked for refund and cancellation of their services.This man told me he wouldn't do a damn thing until I listen to him. I said cancel and refund me.He said don't call back here.

Choice Home Warranty

Have had the CHW policy for over 4 years. Compressor went out on my side-by-side Kenmore fridge. My offer today was $432 to buy a new refrigerator. ARE YOU KIDDING. I have read my contract and all the stupid crap this fool spewed out about the policy providing the national average of replacement not retail. I asked for the website of any business I could purchase a new or refurbished side-by-side with water/ice dispensers...This goof ball would never shut up - sounded like he was reading from a script and possible on drugs. I asked for a supervisor and was put on hold. After 30n minutes I hung...called back and asked for their general counsel's address...put on hold & never came back to the phone. NEED MY REFUND

I PAID CHOICE HOME WARRANTY $ 2600 FOR 5 YEARS , IN FIRST YEAR I HAD SOME PROBLEM WITH MY WATER HEATER, THEY REFUSED TO COVE THEM , AFTER TOO MUCH FRUSTRATION , THEY AGREED TO FIX ONE AND I HAD TO FIX THE OTHER ONE FROM MY OWN POCKET .
MY WELL PUMP IS ALSO COVERED SO WHEN I CALLED THEM , THE GUY CAME AFTER 7 DAYS AND LOOKED AT IT BUT DID NOTHING. THEN THE CHOICE HOME WARRANTY PERSON CALLED ME THAT IT IS NOT COVERED.
WHEN I CALLED THEM TODAY TO CANCEL IT , THEY GAVE ME THE RUN AROUND . THEN AFTER ONE HOUR SOME BODY BY THE NAME OF ARON CALLED ME AND BEHAVED SO RUDELY AS IF HE IS A GOD.
HE TOLD ME THAT OUT OF $2600 I WILL GET BACK ONLY $ 878.
BY THE WAY $ 2600 WAS FOR 5 YEARS AND IT IS ONLY ONE YEAR THAT I HAVE THIS SERVICE.
PLEASE HELP ME WHAT SHOULD I DO .
THIS IS AS IF WE ARE LIVING IN AFGANISTAN WHERE THERE IS NO LAW , NO BODY TO GO TO , NO BODY TO LISTEN TO.
