Non complaint

I own 11 pair of Clarks. Some for years and not a single pair has disentegrated. I cant say the same for a pair if Naturalizers.

I love the shoes and boots!

Soles detached from uppers

I bought a pair of gentlemans shoes from Clarkes and after very little wear the soles have become detached from the uppers. I took the shoes back to the local branch in East Grinstead and despite obvious little wear the shop refused to take any action as I had no receipt. No further shoes for me from Clarkes and I suggest others be wary before they purchase as it seems this is not an uncommon fault.

Soles crumble

I My Clark shoes were reasonably comfortable. I brought them out of the closet today and the soles crumbled into pieces. I'd heard of this but didn't believe it. My shoes are a few years old. Is this still happening?

SHAME ON YOU Clark's

Can't believe that Clark has not issued a statement regarding the soles coming off their relatively expensive (to me) shoes. The styles are timeless, so of course they last past one year - I had them in every style and color. Now that I do not need to buy any more, they are deteriorating where the shoe and sole is stitched. Are you looking into this evident defect? or just hoping we will continue to buy them with the same results. Shame on you for not standing by your products. Judy C in NC

Heals disintergrated

My grandmother purchased a pair of Clark's and wore them twice before she gave them to me because, since I had the same shoe size. I kept them zipped up in a shoe case under my bed.
When I decided to put them on for the first time, I wore them for 1 hour. I noticed towards the end of that hour that my every step I took felt like my feet were squishing down in the shoes. When I got home I couldn't believe that the leather on the outside of the heel were cracked apart and shredded and the black foam on the inside were cracked and peeled off.
So disappointing for such an expensive shoe! Where is the quality??? I've had shoes from Payless last 15 years without a problem, I know they are not the best for your feet but at least I can depend on them!!! Shame on you Clark's!
P.S. I'll be happy to post pics too, should anyone from Clark's wish to see them!

Clarks

Same problem. Shoes disintegrated at a Cambridge College garden party; fortunately the porter's office came to the rescue & loaned me a pair of trainers from lost property. Talk about embarrassing. Same thing happened three years ago. I returned the shoes to Clarks. MD replied essentially saying 'tough' & sent a £15 goodwill voucher which I sent back as insulting. I've heard nothing since. I found this site because a third pair has developed 'sticky' soles which I suspect is a prelude to another collapse. I think the two latest pairs happened because they hadn't been worn for a while (black shoes not worn since I retired). Appalling service & I'm never going back to Clarks.

sole disintegrating

I purchased an expensive pair of Clark Gortex shoes.they were warm and waterproof. Unfortunately on a recent business trip I noticed that on both shoes the sole was splitting and disintegrating rapidly.it was most embarrassing for me when this happened in front of a large audience where I was giving a presentation. During the lunch break I had to purchase another pair(not Clark) of shoes. I brought the shoes back to the shop where I was informed that Clark is aware of the problem and was offered and given a euro 15.--voucher to help towards the purchase of a new pair of Clark. Do they really think I am so stupid as too add another euro80+ to their voucher and get more of the same? ? ? I actively advise anybody to steer a wide course from Clarks.

Stitching Disintergrated

I have a pair of clogs that have hardly been worn. They were stored in my closet for a few months. The next time I wore them, they literally fell apart while I was wearing them. Growing up in the UK, Clarks always stood for quality. They must have changed their manufacturing process since them. Such a pity when a good company goes bad!

Clark shoes fell apart three times

I bought several pairs of Clarks shoes and stored them last winter .I pulled out one of the pairs and them wore them to work. I tripped over my own shoe sole at lunch time. It was very embarrassing. The next pair fell apart within the first hour of wear. I have now thrown away four pairs of unused Clark's clogs.

shoes fell apart while out shopping

Was shopping in Target today and my Clark's literally fell apart. I had to shuffle over to their shoe department and buy a pair of shoes I didn't need so as not to be in my sock feet. This is the second pair to do this. I thought the first time was. Just a fluke.

Soles separate and break down

After my fifth pair of Clarks shoes suddenly fell apart while wearing them, I Googled to see if there was a history of it. My story is essentially the same as all the other complaints. In Pacific Northwest we have definite seasons so you put your shoes away until the correct season arrives. Last year 4 pair fell apart, one right after the other. Yesterday the fifth pair fell apart after about one mile of walking. Will just throw away the remaining 4 pair of Clarks in my closet instead of taking a chance with them. Thought I would try Hotter shoes but online reviews say the same thing for them. What's with English shoe companies?

clark's shoes

It happened again! Another pair of my faily new Clarks' shoes ripped apart where the leather upper meets the sole. Luckily I only had to walk around for 3 hours with this situation. On one of the other times it happened, it was first thing in the morning and 40 miles away from home. Is anything being done about this situation?

Thanks for any help.

disintegrating shoes

I am in the habit of buying shoes in the Clarks sale then putting them away until I need them when the shoes I've been wearing start to look too shabby. I've had a pair of shoes for a while but hardly ever wore them. I decided to wear them today and just as I returned to my car I felt the left shoe suddenly give way because the sole had split from the leather upper. The same happened to the other shoe at the same time. The soles, which I assume are injection molded polyurethane, had also split and broken. I phoned Clarks customer services explaining that the shoes had very little wear yet both fell apart at the same time. I was told the problem is hydrolysis of the rubber soles and that I should make a point of wearing the shoes regularly rather than storing them. I can't be sure when I bought the shoes but they reckon if it was over four years then it's to be expected. There was me thinking shoes only wear out when they are worn out from use. I have been told that without a receipt the best I can expect is a £10 voucher towards another pair of shoes if I return them to a store. I have brought out the two pairs of shoes I had stored away and plan to get some use out of them in case they develop the same problem. I will have to carry a spare pair of shoes at all times. I've never had a problem with Clarks shoes before but now suspect they don't deserve their reputation for quality.

Clark shoes

I also have had trouble with my Clark shoes falling apart. I know I have owned over 20 pair because they were more comfortable than any other I have found. All 3 pair of sandals fell apart & at least 7 pair of clogs. My boots & closed in shoes have been fine. I was just throwing them away at first. Then a sales lady told me to contact the company. I did & have had no problem getting my last 3 pair replaced. They were very apologetic & offered a replacement right away. I received the replacement in about 5 days. I will continue to buy from this company because they do stand behind their product. I do say watch out for anything made in China. That is where mine were made.

Stitching completely ripped

I purchased some Clark shoes that I loved, but only wore when work required me to be on my feet for longer periods of time. Within no time at all the stitching pulled apart and they are unwearable. Problem is I cannot recall where I purchased the shoes so I'm out of luck. Very frustrating that a brand like Clark would make such a faulty shoe. They have to know this is a problem.
