Christmas Movie Overkill

I am writing to express my displeasure of the 24/7 Christmas movies that are played on both Hallmark channels which begins in October, BEFORE Halloween. It's way too much. I love the Hallmark channels, but I am forced to watch another channel because it's way too soon to be showing Christmas shows. Your showing these movies is not getting me into the Christmas spirit any sooner.
Christmas is not all snowflakes and hot cocoa for some people. Please reconsider your programming schedule as it will surely result in a loss of viewership, which can result in lost revenue due to low ratings. You are alienating a lot of people. It is a shame because a lot of people really enjoy your channels, but shoving Christmas down our throats 2 months beforehand is not good marketing. Why can't these shows start airing Thanksgiving weekend? The 24/7 should only be done the week before Christmas. You're killing a good thing.

Christmas movies

2 months of lame Christmas movies is overkill. It's not even Halloween yet and I'm already sick of Christmas. Did it ever occur to Hallmark Channel that not everyone wants to have this holly jolly crap shoved down their throats nonstop 24 hours a day until January? There are other religions and other holidays. Not everyone celebrates Christmas. All the movies are the same... 2 white people...usually single parents...meet..fall in love..get married and live happily ever after..fa la la la la and all that garbage. The holidays are not always happy times for those of us dealing with trauma, loss, illness, etc. The Golden Girls relaxes me and keeps my anxiety down and y'all take it off to play this holiday nonsense. Get real Hallmark, you're the reason Christmas has become dreadful. As for your Countdown to Christmas..like we say in St Olaf..blow it out your tubenburbles!!

Christmas Movies

I DO NOT want to see over two months of Christmas movies! I would like to watch mysteries. That is now impossible until January. I probably will not tune in then either. I'm done with all Hallmark channels due to the ridiculous Christmas programming.

Stupid Corny Christmas movies

This is just out of control..the stupid movies about love and Christmas come on you people giving all of us a sick feeling of regret that we even have your awful channel..these movies are just sappy romance novels from the 60s and 70s the old silhouette and Harlequin books.if you can not make movies about how real people interact and that love is not a ridiculous "boy meets girl--boy girl fight--boy girl marry" crap..all you need to do is ad nauseam.. UGH thank the Lord that I can change the DAMN CHANNEL....

Countdown to Christmas

Hallmark Channel has taken the obsession with starting Christmas early a little too far. Starting Christmas movies when the leaves are still on the trees in many places is absurd! The least they could do is keep the existing lineup on during the overnight hours to balance some of the treacly, tired and stale movies with beloved timeless sitcoms.

What's worse - and also kind of hilarious, when you think about it - is any suggestion of a compromise is met with crackpot cult-ish responses from movie devotees on social media. Signs of a cult: No tolerance for questions or critical inquiry, opposing critical thinking, unreasonable fear about the outside world (and first amendment!), the "group" is always right, and the "group" is the exclusive means of knowing "truth" or receiving validation. These ladies clearly prize the insipid Christmas romances above any other form of logic, perhaps trying to compensate from a lack of romance in their own lives, it's safe to assume...? Their whining and complaining in the face of any respectful criticism is the very definition of hypocrisy.

Tim Allen

I find it very curious that Tim Allen is permitted on a Hallmark spot to say something along the line of, "it's family time here on the Hallmark Channel." (paraphrase) Tim Allen has stated that he hated working with the children on "The Santa Clause," was arrested for dealing in cocaine, considers women to be nothing more than "cars" and that he loves women ONLY because "they can make babies." He hates the democrats, but yet he has the audacity to stand in front of a camera and speak of "family time." The Dems. who work to make sure that no child is without food, education, housing, healthcare, and is safe from abuse. ( The top demographic number of homeless people in this country are children and women) The Dems., who want to make sure that those who are in lack of health (either mental or physical) are protected and are able to receive the care that they need. The Dems. who make sure that the elderly are able to at least receive food, and medical benefits that they may live out their golden years knowing that what they themselves have paid into during their working lives is there for them now that they need it and that as their children and grandchildren continue to work and pay into programs it will be there for them and so on and so on. That they are not just expected to die on that they are not of working age. The Dems. who say you have the right to believe and have a faith of your choosing and not the false god of money, lies, and greed. They are still of value as is every human being regardless of age, gender, race, sexual orientation, or religion. The Dems. who saved the car factories, who stand up for unions, public education, fight for change in student loan companies, still believe that every citizen should have the fire department, police force, EMS, etc. come to a person's house and that these departments should not be privatized. Tim, that's what some of those dollars that you think are being taken from you for no reason are for. The Dems who believe that caring for the earth isn't just a made up idea, but is something that GOD has asked us to do. And, even if you don't believe in organized religion it is simply the right thing to do- care for the earth on which we live.- Always remember that you can find the greatness of a nation in how it cares for its poorest, meekest, and its most wanting. If Mr. Allen seeks forgiveness for his past sins, then he must discover that his pompous, bombastic, meagerly educated words are clearly flowing from a source that is still dwelling in the barrooms of the man-child, misogynistic state of mind from which he has yet to rise from. He still can, but...does he have the courage and willingness to change? Doubtful...Here, Tim, have another drink. It's really too bad because he has made some fun movies, but...
Also, Hallmark Channel, please stop casting women with eating disorders in your movies.

Bad editing and too much Christmas

Two things:
Quite often the actors' mouths do not line up with what they're saying, as if the editing is off. This happens at least a couple times a week.
And really, do we need over two solid months of terrible Christmas movies? It would be nice if at least the night time programming stayed they same, with The Middle, The Golden Girls, and Frasier reruns.

Screen size changed in middle of program

I was watching The Golden Girls and after a commercial when the program resumed the screen/program was half the size. It is now doing the same with Frazier. Tonight is the first time this has happened. The commercials will large and the programs revert to a smaller screen. This is ridiculous. Please change it back to regular size.

No Diversity

No Diversity, I was a loyal Hallmark Channel viewer, love their movies but as much as I kept on wishing for cultural diversity on leading actors and actresses role, it still didn't happen so I have decided to stop watching it, until it starts showing, what a melting pot this country is. I truly hope Hallmark Chanel listens and supports their viewers opinions.

Home Improvement, Last Man Standing and The Middle

I have voiced my complaint several times. It seems you don't care what people think of the shows you are presenting. Home Improvement, Last Man Standing and The Middle are all horrible and do not belong on the Hallmark Channel. Tim Allen disgusts me and I will not watch anything he is in. Please play shows that are family shows and not this line up of horrible shows.

Programming

Have always insisted on having both Hallmark Channels.
I very much enjoyed your Holiday Films. For the first time I have an enormous complaint about your regular daytime programming. OK two episodes of Home and Family, the second being a REPEAT of the first the previous day. Sometimes that works out for even me, but a whole afternoon of Tim Allen, TIM ALLEN...a r r h g? Really? You could have searched the world over and found a better show for the Hallmark Network.

I too, have a hearing problem. It is my poor neighbors that must listen to the bass and loud music while I'm trying to hear the lyrics of the show. This is not exclusively Hallmarks' problem, I've attended live plays where I could not here a word, or a concert where I could only hear the band.

You know the problems, please remember your demographics. I dare say most are not enjoying Tim Allen either!

Diversity

Dear Hallmark Channel,
I would think with all these complaints on your channel not being more diverse you would make a change. It seems as though you do not care about the viewers who watch your network, or maybe you do for the ones who like how things are. Although I too like to watch your network the stories all blend together and the people look the same. I have now switched to the Freeform network. This network speaks to a variety of backgrounds especially when it comes to Christmas movies.

Diversity

Dear Hallmark,

I have been watching these movies with family members about Christmas for a week now. YOU NEED TO HAVE PEOPLE THAT ARE NOT WHITE AND CHRISTIAN IN THESE MOVIES.

HOW CAN YOU SAY YOU ARE CELEBRATING THE HOLIDAY SEASON WITH PEOPLE THAT ARE ONLY WHITE AND CHRISTIAN. I WOULD HOPE THAT AFTER THIS ELECTION YOU WOULD NO LONGER BE PERPETRATING THE IDEA THAT ALL WHITE CHRISTIAN CHARACTERS MOVIES ON A CHANNEL ABOUT FAMILY AND MORALITY IS OK.

get it together. This is disgusting and pathetic.

Discrimination

I am African American. Believe it or not Hallmark Channel I lead a very Hallmark Christmas Movie like life along with my husband and two children. I enjoy the outline of your movies but the casting is blatantly discriminatory against African Americans along with all other persons of color. Let's call it what it is. I also find it insulting that you in some way believe casting African Americans in fringe rolls like the assistant, friend, boss, driver, or store clerk of the Caucasian lead role will lead to our appeasement. It does not. There are an abundance of African American actors writers and producers to create Hallmark movies. There is no need to change your format because your stories are universal and because they are universal it has to be your prejudices causing the intentional exclusion of people of color in lead roles. Let's not candy coat the issue. Let's call it what it is--intentional discrimination.

Lack of POC

I have been watching the hallmark channel Christmas movies for about a week now. There are no main characters that are not white. It's ridiculous that in the year 2016 we do not see any people of color, any color, that aren't white on our screens. This channel is abysmal and really need to do something about their diversity.

Timeing

I like the Holiday movies but I do not like the channel starting the movies before Halloween. Thanksgiving weekend is a good time to start showing the movies. Sometimes I will watch Home Improvement since it has been awhile since I have seen that show. But I have seen all the episodes of Last Man Standing over and over. I don't understand why the rest of you are complaining about missing I Love Lucy, Golden Girls, etc. Haven't you already seen them a hundred times? Do some channel surfing you might find some other shows you like. I almost never watch weekdays since it is the same shows over, over and over. So please next don't start the Christmas movies so soon. Also lets switch up the weekday schedule too.

Too much Christmas movies

Next Christmas season (2017) please consider adding an additional channel so that regular programming can continue to be played each day and night. Some of the Hallmark Channel customers prefer to watch the regular scheduled programs instead of watching Christmas movies beginning the last week of October and run through January 2nd. That is way too much Christmas. It's overload! Start Christmas movies right after Thanksivig and run through January 1st. But get that second channel going for regular programming. Hallmark customers love their regularly scheduled programs (Frasier, Golden Girls, The Middle, Cheers, I Love Lucy and Home Improvement )
Please consider this request.
Thank you for your time.

noisy commercials

I am a Senior Caregiver with an eighty two year old client who loves The Golden Girl reruns on the Hallmark Channel. Unfortunately, the commercials are so loud she has to turn the volume down and then when the program returns she always misses a few minutes of the show. I thought a law had been passed which made this practice ( louder commercials) illegal. She has Dish network and this is the only channel that it happens on.

Diversity

As if Lifetime weren't already the safe haven for all all entertainment that is "white and right" I would expect more from Hallmark. Your very brand is supposed to represent all things and people good and wholesome. That doe snot just happen in whit or non-mixed families. Please take the people's feedback to heart and consider reaching out to the rest of America as well. I now only watch Hallmark for The Golden Girls. Yes the cast is all white, but that was never a problem and it is a hilarious show that's not too politically correct like so many shows are these days. I do, however, think there is a problem when your ENTIRE catalog is full of casts that look nearly identical from one story to the next and apparently no chubby of fat men/women enjoy Christmas or fall in love and get married. LOL They are not even casts as extras or a lead's best friend or sidekick! Amazing. Get it together.

Side note: Someone mentioned that they had stopped watching the CW due to lack of diversity. I am guessing this was a long time ago as for the past few years CW has gotten better they have a more national representation than Hallmark for sure. Let foreigners watch the Hallmark channel and they will think there are no Blacks, Asians, Middle Easterners, Natives or, heck, even Jews. There is zero cultural acknowledgement for any of the other BILLIONS of types that actually make up the nation. Can't be a "coat of many colors" if your coat is literally all white. ;)

And to the fool that made that insensitive quip about people watching B.E.T instead...only someone that likes to tell blacks to "go back to Africa" would say something so thoughtless. B.E.T DOES, in fact, have white people on their shows. It is not discriminatory like Hallmark.

All white programming

This complaint is directed to the small minded programming staff members in charge at the hallmark station. This world contains more than one race of people and in addition God made more than one race or didn't you notice? Look around you....oh wait; most likely you did not notice if you're living in that same world projected in the programs shown on your network. (SMH) and praying for each of you.

lack of diversity

I watch the Hallmark Channel often. Why is there a lack of racial diversity, and scenery?
Do you even care? Does anyone even read these complaints?
