Holiday movies not just Christmas

I actually enjoy the Christmas movies, but have to agree with many of the comments on lack of diversity. Not just the lack of persons of color, but the lack of sharing the holiday joy of other cultures and religions.

I get into the holiday spirit making homemade cookies for military personnel and first responders in my area. I deliver these on Christmas morning. When I was active duty I volunteered to work on Christmas as I am Jewish. So it saddens me that there are no Chanukah movies.

It is a season of joy and happiness, not just the Christmas season.

Diversity

I echo jan46. When are you going to start showing people of color in the main roles. Don't any non-white people live in these towns and in this country?

CHRISTMAS MOVIES

I watch Hallmark Channel everyday. I can't believe these Christmas Movies are starting before Halloween and lasting until January. Why do they have to play all day long? Can't there just be a midday block with two or three movies, so regular programming can continue? These movies are all the same. If you've seen one, you've seen them all.

Female Characters

Almost every original Hallmark film I've seen (especially Christmas ones) includes a plot where an ambitious successful woman gives up or downgrades her career to be with some guy who lives in the country. You start with doctors, lawyers, real estate agents, chefs etc and two hours later those women have decided to give up their life's work to marry a handyman who lives in a cabin. Is that the intended message to the girls watching this channel: "Don't bother achieving anything, some guy will come take over sooner or later'? And I think the citizens of New York, Chicago, Boston Etc. would agree that an apartment can be just as much a home as a farm despite the obvious prejudice you seem to have against "city dwellers".

Hire some new writers.

christmas movies 24/7?

I dread hallmark channel at this time every year. It makes absolutely no sense, whatsoever, to show Christmas movies everyday, all day and night at anytime, much less for over 2 months! It’s bad enough that one can’t even enter a brick and mortar building in October without being blinded by Christmas everywhere. Why would anyone who knows anything about tv scheduling in general think this is a sensible idea? It goes without saying that a compromise would be far better received. Play the Christmas movies only during a certain time of day or on weekend days, only. To offer no alternative except to change the channel is so counterproductive for hallmark. The 24/7 Christmas movie idea is horrible and I can’t imagine how bad your ratings must be during this time. I never turn hallmark on during this exhaustive run of Christmas movies. I don’t know who at hallmark decided this, but I think you need to find someone with a lot more creativity for programming and who pays attention to what the LARGE MAJORITY of viewers want! Please rethink this horrible decision!

Christmas movies

Goodbye Hallmark channels. Dislike 24/7 Christmas movies. And if I find a replacement channel I won't be back in January.

Countdown to Christamas

This countdown to Christmas for over 2 months is totally unfair to people who do not celebrate Christmas. I have called the network and I have written the network expressing my upset with this countdown and have received not one answer. I have called my provider and they of course are no help, they have no control over what the networks show on tv. I have blocked out the two channels and if everyone who is against this blocks the channels and does not watch them their ratings will go down and maybe they will stop this nonsense.

Snow in movies

Please, please, please, stop putting fake snow in your movies. Love the movies, but the fake snow puts a damper on enjoying them. Just leave it out if you can’t use a snow machine like they use for ski slopes.
Thank you, from a New England viewer (watching ‘I’m not ready for Christmas.’

Diversity

I love sappy Christmas movies, but wow, once again, there are hardly any people of color. Your audience is broad and at least one or two of your movies could feature some type of ethnic diversity for a main character as a reflection of that. It's 2017! Brown people fall in love and celebrate Christmas too you know.

Hate the two months of Christmas movies

For the past couple of years at this time I would always hope the Hallmark Channel would not do the 24/7 two month Christmas movie marathon. Nope they did it again this year. It really puts a negative connotation on the holiday season for me. I would have Hallmark on all the time watching I Love Lucy, The Golden Girls, The Middle, and then it would always be on as background . I've revved up my DVD player and will be playing my DVDs of thesr shows until January. Bah humbug Hallmark

Less Predictable

All your movies are so predictable, you know who it's going to end, as soon as it begins. No mystery and definitely, no
shock factor. And, yes can you please have some diversity in your actors/actresses. Or least not the same ones over and over
again. Yawn....sigh..

Christmas shows & no Rockford files

I cannot understand why you would put the Christmas shows on so early!? At least wait until after Thanksgiving!
I have to admit, I will not be watching any of those, and I'm also disappointed that you advertised the heck out of the Rockford Files, then only showed it one day???! Come on!

It's just too early to be bombarded by those shows.

more harvest movies

Love all of your movies!! Love the Christmas movies and can not wait to spend December watching them. I would LOVE to see more Harvest movies and I would like to see them run through mid November at least. I was going to set my DVR this weekend to record all of the fall and harvest movies to enjoy leading up to Thanksgiving but realized Christmas is already playing...Please reconsider extending the Harvest movies a little longer. Christmas movies before Halloween is rushing the beautiful season of Christmas.

Too many Christmas movies

I really dread when you start those Christmas movies ALL DAY AND NIGHT from late October through January. At least after 10 pm or midnight you could do the usual like Frasier, Cheers, I Love Lucy, Golden Girls. I must admit, I just NEVER watch your channel during all of this Christmas time movie junk. FOR GOD's sake NOBODY will be watching Christmas movies at midnight!

Non-stop Christmas programming

Why? Why? Why on earth would you do such a stupid thing? To promote the sale of the overpriced junk in your retail stores and online? Very bad move. Won't be watching any of it. After you see your ratings drop this season you won't make the same mistake next year. The head of programming should be fired. It's just too much.

Christmas Movies

I have looked at previous emails to you, and AGREE entirely. 2 solid months of Christmas movies on both channels, 24 hours a day is TOO much. I regularly watch both channels, and from this Sunday until Christmas, you will lose me as a watcher. I enjoy a Christmas movie as much as the next, but hundreds of sappy movies for 2 months is stupid.

Too m. any Christmas movies

Living in Phx you'd think we'd all just love snow. Not - that's why we live here.

Why do you need to have Christmas movies on the Movies and Mysteries channel? There is a regular Hallmark channel for this and Hallmark Drama now. This is way too much Christmas. And I wouldn't mind if they were good, but they aren't that good. Same old plot and theme and always the same ending.

So goodbye to your channels until January. Thankfully I have the option to drop the Hallmark channel for a few months and then replace you with another one which I'll be doing soon.

Maybe if enough people do the same you'll see it's a mistake to put on all those Christmas movies.

Lack of diversity

I enjoy watching the Christmas movies on Hallmark but I would like to have some people of color that my daughter and granddaughters can identify with, I really like the Hallmark Channel and I also purchase your movies so please be more diverse in your characters.

Ads at bottom of screen

It's enough that we endure sappy Christmas movies starting in October but now you've placed countdown boxes ticking of the seconds until the sappy movies start blocking out part of the picture. Can't watch Hallmark Channel anymore...too distracting.

Hallmark channel

Taking my Golden Girls off I look forward to every night since my cancer is low. The show always relaxes me now I have to wait two months before I can see them because of Christmas programs for trick or treaters and turkey hunters. It's bad enough you can't even play them in order instead you just keep playing the same ones over and over again. Well I just found a way to take care of my problem , I found all seven seasons for $35.00 now I can watch them in order as they are supposed to be shown. Next thing is picking up Matlock and Diagnosis Murder seasons. A simple and cheap way to fix my problem and save money because I won't have to keep paying Hallmark channel for reruns. I want to thank you for helping me save money. Ho Ho Ho for my Doe Doe Doe.
