Diversity

2017 and still no improvement with the addition of Christmas story lines with or about people of color. This needs to change.

Hallmark Christmas Blatant Lack of Diversity!

Hallmark has been a good channel for Christmas films. However for the past several years, I have noticed a blatant lack of diversity in the casting of their films. The Christmas Romance films mostly feature a Caucasian Woman in pursuit of an attractive Caucasian man. Oftentimes it is the same actresses, e.g. Candace Cameron, Lacy Chabert etc. If there is ANY diversity, it tends to be in supporting or minor roles. This is frustrating as there are plenty of minority actors/actresses from a range of ethnicitys who would have the talent and desire to play the lead role in a Hallmark film. In this day and time with the growing diversity of our nation, Holidays for many families consistent of a plethora of diverse friends and family gathering together. Why does Hallmark continue to not reflect this diversity in the programming? Hallmark must get with the times or ultimately will be left behind for better programming.

Starting Christmas movies so early before Thanksgiving

I've always loved watching The Hallmark Channel both the stations but their practice of starting Christmas movies before Halloween is even over is real Overkill. By the time December 1st, I'm sick to death of Christmas. So you've lost me before the Christmas season even gets here. I can't believe I'm the only one who feels that you start your Christmas movies way too early. I would appreciate if you would reconsider your decision and start Christmas after Thanksgiving.

Diversity

My favorite is the fireman and the vet with the cats. I wish they both were in more movies. I liked it more because it wasn't just about the rich white people and you also need movies that are more diverse. While i appreciate what you're trying to accomplish you really need to get more in tune with Diverse America.

All rich white people/not real

I love the movie that has the cats, firefighter, and the vet who fall in love. It's more like the real America. Many of your other movies are to sterol, they all seem to be rich and only white people which I'm white but it's like it's not even real. I do like the the non violent style with great ethics but it's almost not real. The real world your not even close to. I'm just suggesting more like the fire fighter and the young lady that fall in love with the animals.
By far my family's favorite movie.

captions

I love Hallmark movies and am excited to see some of my Christmas favorites. I watched The Christmas Ornament today and half of the TV screen is filled with captions. There is no need to have the Hallmark logo on the bottom right (I know which channel I'm watching) and a timer/listing of upcoming movies on the left center of the screen (I can and do check the Hallmark Movie schedule). I was so disgusted that I'm not sure that I'll be able to sit another Christmas movie.

It's interesting, though, that the commercials are totally full screen with no captions at all. Viewers that feel as I do will not even be seeing these commercials as they will not be able to sit through movies when they can't even see the faces of the actors.

I am paying extra through my cable company to get the Hallmark Movie Channel. There is no point in spending the extra money if I can't even see the movie I'm hoping to watch for all of the captions across the screen.

Please take the captions off of the movies. I'm sure it is just a computer click away.

Christmas Movie Ornament

I love both Hallmark channels, most of the time. However, whoever thought a big red ornament countdown clock, taking up a forth of the screen, was a good idea. THEY WERE WRONG!!!! I finally reached the point were I decided I didn't need any more Christmas movies this year. Better luck next year.

Lack of diversity

I just recently started watching the Halmark movie channel this weekend. Your Christmas specials have started and when the Harry Potter marathon was on commercial I️ decided to give Halmark a try.

So far I have seen bits and pieces of about 4 movies and have not seen one person of color in any of the shows. None of the main characters or minor characters represent any other ethnic group the Caucasian.

Since you are a family channel I would think by now you would realize that families in America are diverse and colorful. Your channel should start to make a conscious effort to incoprapate people of color into your channel. I will probably not watch your channel until I start seeing an effort.

Additionally, I am not the only one who feels this way. A quick Google search showed me that others have noticed as well.

Christmas movies

The Hallmark channel is usually my most watched channel. Saddly, this is no longer true, at least since you began the Christmas movies. The Christmas season is my favorite season but not starting in November and certainly not in October. At this point I am not even likely to tube into the Hallmark channel until your regular schedule returns in January. Hopefully, you will not get the "brilliant" idea to show the movies 24-7 year round.

Channel movie listings wrong on either 636 or 716. They aren't the same aslisted

Hd channels 636 and 716 show same channel listings but aren't showing the same movie. Listings say the same thing. Taping movies to watch later will be difficult if they aren't listed correctly.

Need diversity!

Add me to the group requesting more people of color in your Christmas and other movies. LOVE your Christmas movies. They provide a great escape to a stressful, scary world. Even though they may be predictable they are something I look forward to every year. I just wish they could reflect more of the wonderfully diverse people that make up our world. I seriously can’t believe that it’s almost 2018 and your viewers have to tell you this. Please, please consider doing this as soon as possible. 😊

Christmas movies

There are sooo many Christmas movies, why do you show the same ones over and over. My favorite is Borrowed Hearts with Eric McCormick. You never show that one, why?
The old ones Timepiece, too many to mention, please let us see the older ones. It’s part of what we enjoy during the holidays!
Thanks!

Worst Movie Ever

Marry me at Christmas is the Worst Hallmark movie EVER. The main/lead actors did not do a good job. Please do not keep that movie in the line up.

Not Enough Diversity

I have watched the Christmas Halmark movies for years and this year it's finally dawned on me that there is a LACK OF DIVERSITY! There are surely more than enough diverse actors to choose from. You must realize that more than one race is watching the movies. Please consider making a difference.
Also, the main characters in some of the new shoes are truly a disappointment. I could not watch the movie. So sad!

LACK OF DIVERSITY AGAIN

I, like others on this page, have the same complaint. You have 21 new movies and no diversity amongst the actors. I did see Danny Glover in one movie but this is a complaint that I have seen addressed by watchers every year. How is it in 2017 that the casting is all the same. I don't think you realize how big a black audience you have. Me and my friends all had a count down this year to the start of Christmas the movies. Yet no diversity in the line up again. Holly Robinson hosted a kickoff show but why isn't she in a couple movies? She's great. This will be my last season supporting the channel if you don't value me as a watcher. We need these movies to heal from the war raging around us. BE THE CATALYST.

Christmas movies

The big red count down Christmas bulb at the bottom of the screen during the movie is distracting and annoying.

Hallmark Mistletoe Promise

In this day and age when most law firms have diversity programs, it was disappointing to see a movie in which the firm celebrates one religion and only married people. There is only one person of color in the whole movie. A scary message.

Morality

Hallmark movies have always been very moral movies which I have always appreciated. Lately I noticed that the young actresses are wearing plunging necklines and very short dresses along with more social drinking. I have always enjoyed watching these with my grandchildren and could trust that they were relaying a wholesome message. Now I'm not so sure. Please re-evaluate your message to our young children. Your consideration is greatly appreciated.

Countdown on bottom of screen

Love watching the hallmark channels but you recently started putting a countdown on the bottom of your hallmark movies and mysteries channel advertising an upcoming show. It should be ok if it didn't take up so much of the screen. Please consider making it smaller especially when someone is using a tv with a smaller screen. Thanks BT

Need Ethnic Diversity in Hallmark Family Lead Roles

I have enjoyed for many years Hallmarks Family friendly and Christian foundation movies. In 2017, we would like to see African American, Hispanic, Asian, and other Ethnic families in the diverse Loving families that Representative of the United States and the world around us. Our Children should see the world represent movies of faces like them of all ethnicities. I know GOD would be pleased to see the hearts of all His people in diverse family oriented movies. An all white cast brings good ratings, but at the expense of showing no compassion to represent other actors talents and gifts would continue to be a travesty. I'm an African American Christian, educated, and loving woman of faith that would like to see actors that look like me too. I make up your ratings too. Please consider more Lead roles with more diverse actors. Blessings.

More Diversity

I love the Hallmark Channel(s) and the type of movies that are shown (in particular, love stories). I would love to see movies that not only focus on White America with minorities used to fill in the blanks but to allow main characters to be represented by the rest of America. Please provide more diversity by allowing minorities to be the focus of some of your movies.
