Diversity

I started watching your Christmas movies this week and noticed the absence of African Americans and other people of color! This is very disheartening as Christmas and its traditions are obviously enjoyed in our families as well! If you produced Christmas and other movies with minorities in leading and significant roles, I believe you'll experience an increase in viewers. After all, For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son...John 3:16
Note "the world" not just white folk!

Political Ad

I read some of the complaints. Looks like a bunch of copy-cats. Especially the "diversity" complaints. Anyway...my complaint is the impeachment ad regarding President Trump. Come on Hallmark Channel. Please, please, please, no politics. I was hoping to escape all that with a warm and fuzzy christmas special and now I see even that isn't sacred. Bummed about that!! Love your channel usually. It's a nice escape from the mean, cruel world we live in.

horrible christmas movies

Get rid of the Christmas movies for two months. They are sooooo boring. The only good thing is the set decoration., at least its pretty. Its too much of Christmas movies. Can't you limit to the weekends in December with new movies. You repeat the same movies for the last 5 years. I don't watch and I have seen the same movie on at least 3 times.

CHRISTMAS MOVIES TERRIBLE

The Christmas movies are so irritating. Repeats for the last 5 years, the same movies. I don't even watch and I have seen the same movies every year! At least wait until after Thanksgiving and then play new movies on the weekends until Christmas. Horrible,,, the only interesting thing about the movies are the set decorations.

Enough with the Christmas Movies!

Hallmark, please consider limiting the amount of Christmas movies you air, especially prior to Thanksgiving! Only airing Christmas movies and Home & Family (with heavy Christmas influence starting in JULY) is TOO MUCH. After Thanksgiving one or two Christmas movies during prime time is sufficient. I love the Holidays, but you (Hallmark) are absolutely beyond Christmas overkill now. Definitely losing a viewer that has been pushed to watch your competitors October - January.

Too many Christmas movies for too long

Just to let you know that you are losing viewers because of running your Christmas movies for too long of a period of time. Every year the market place rushes Christmas earlier and earlier and now the two channels I enjoy most have to play non stop Christmas movies starting in October through January. It's a bit much!!! Also all of your movies are predictably the same making them very boring. Put the reruns back on that we all enjoy so much and limit your Christmas movies a couple of weekends in December. Believe me that would be more than enough of them.

Lack of Diversity

I am a dedicated fan of the Hallmark Countdown to Christmas movies but the lack of diversity is very sad. There are no minorities as main characters and very limited amount of as supporting characters in any of the movies including the shows from 2015-2016. I will no longer be able to support your channel as a African American women especially during these times.

No BLACK HISPANIC OR ASIANS

Let's just get right to it! Your so called Lilly white family channel is what it is! RACIST & PREJUDICE! You know This, as well as all of your so called other employees do. I would hate to be a person of color working at your station! I'm reading the same complaint from people & it appears your company could care less! Because NOTHING HAS CHANGED! So why bother to ask for complaints. Yes I'm sure it spent matter what people of any has to say cause the only that matters is the magnitude of how many WHITE PEOPLE WATCH! OH & LET'S NOT FORGET ALL THE MONEY THAT IS MADE! So sure people of any color except! WHITE & GREEN . SHAME ON U RACIST MONEY HUNGRY ASSHOLES!

Yep Those Christmas Movies Again

During the "Holiday" season (which to Hallmark is in July and again from October to January. I make sure that I don't even pass the two hallmark channels to make sure I don't even see 1 second of this horrible programming idea. I cannot imagine that anyone would enjoy watching these dreadfully written and casted movies 24/7. It is tiring that it is done every single year.

Although I like many of the shows that play on both Hallmark channels the rest of the year, I think I am going to see if my TV service company can remove them from my channels so I am not tempted to ever watch them again. I also was asked by Hallmark to ask my Cable company to provide the Hallmark Drama channel ( a 3rd one) instead I have asked my cable company to ensure they do not provide it.

Also, I always enjoyed shopping at the Hallmark stores, especially during the holidays. I will no longer be shopping at any Hallmark store (the parent company) or purchasing any Hallmark products.

Diversity

Please,
recognize the need to add much more diversity to the Christmas movies. Not one or two people in the back ground scenes but main characters. I am a manger of Diversity in my organization and it's so sad to see what's missing with our Hallmark Christmas movies. I hope that this issue will be addressed very soon this is 2017.

Hallmark - Lack of Diversity

I, too, am very concerned about the lack of diversity in your Christmas movies. I enjoy watching wholesome movies, but as an African American, I do not enjoy the lack of diversity in your movies year after year. It's as if you don't get it, or maybe you get it but you just don't care. I am seeing a few more people of color as role players in your newer movies. They always seem to be cast as the best friend of the main character, or cast in a non-speaking or limited speaking role; never as the lead actor.

Is it because you think no one would watch a person of color in a lead role in a love story? Do you not see people of color in that light. Do you only see us in a stereotypical way? Sad, if that's the case. You should consider hiring more people of color to cast characters and write screenplays. Most of your movies are so predictable with the same story line and the same actors, over and over.

You really need to do a better job, Hallmark.

Lack of diversity

I love the movies and shows on Hallmark, but the lack of diversity saddens me. I’ve only seen two Black actors and they were in supporting roles. When Hallmark said white Christmas, I didn’t know it meant all white cast. Sad! I will look at shows that reflects the world in which I live. Currently It does include Hallmark.

Lack of Diversity

While the overload of Christmas stories don't really bother me, the lack of diversity in the casting (as well as the plots) does. All of these movies look the same. You could have probably made 3 fewer movies and flew a few African America, Asian American, Latinx and/or Native Americans to set wherever (Canada?) and made better movies. Actually, while you're at it, try hiring more minority talent BEHIND the camera. This may help get some new thinking and new stories to the forefront.

big red countdown ball and logo

PLEASE get rid of the big red countdown Christmas ball in the lower left corner. With that on one side and the Hallmark logo on the other, it takes up so much of the screen you can't enjoy the movie. We just want to watch our beloved Hallmark movies without dealing with advertising logos and countdowns to whatever. Is it necessary to have one or both of them up there? Please consider removing it. Thank you.

countdown red ball

PLEASE get rid of the big red countdown Christmas ball in the left corner. With the Hallmark logo on the right and the big red ball on the left, it is extremely distracting and takes up too much of the screen. So much so, that I turned my beloved Hallmark channel off watching The Perfect Christmas Present. Is it necessary to also have the Hallmark logo down in the right corner too? At least for the entire movie? We just want to enjoy the beautiful Christmas movies, not deal with advertising logos or countdowns to whatever. PLEASE consider removing this. Thank you.

Christmas Movies

Just want you know that you have lost a viewer, during your time for Christmas Movies, October to January. You have the movies on both Hallmark channels and that is a bit much. I like the Christmas season but there is a limit to what a person can take. Thank goodness there are other channels to watch. Please don't run this into the ground.

Why the same?

We waited with anticipation for the start of the 2017 Christmas movie season. Why do we see the same actors and actresses over and over again? It's getting old for sure. My thirteen year old daughter noticed also.

PS We watch Hallmark and Hallmark Movies and Mysteries all year long and LOVE it!

Lack of Diversity

I am an Afician American female that loves the holiday season. Today after church one of my fellow church members said to me: Do you think the hallmark channel realize that black people have traditions, get married, have the same life circumstances as white America. Then why are we NOT represented in any movies; other than minor roles. Please add diversity to your line up. There is so much division in the world; I would hate to stop watching Hallmark.

Lack of diversity

This is such a wonderful family channel, yet it overwhelms me the lack of diversity in actors and actresses as well as diversity in movie subjects. The volume of Christmas movies you've produced this year, and not ONE has an African American in a lead role. I did see one movie does appear to have a Latino couple in the main roles. Great!! Truly! Also, your channel could be creating movies to educate people of the wonderful family lives of the broad ethnic population of this country. It's also disheartening on your morning show, very, very few guests or hosts that are minority. I'll keep checking back to see if you make changes, but won't watch until you change your casting. I someone who can make changes actually gets this information.

Lack of Diversity

I am stunned that Hallmark's Christmas movies lack diversity and inclusion in theme, narrative and actors. Why is this? The mood of Christmas expresses love incarnate in all of God's creation. Hallmark's Christmas movies suggest that only White-Americans are the recepients of God's transforming love.
