Stale

I always was Zesta saltine cracker guy, but they always seem to taste stale. So I switch to Nabisco and they taste stale also. Have they changed the recipe or what?

saltines

Nabisco has ruined a once great product!!!--They are burnt, doughy, tasteless and too expensive--For a $1.00 at the dollar tree I ca n get a superior product!!!--What happens to you big companies?--do you let these young college kids make bottom line decisions and forget about quality--If your sales aren't down they will be!!!!!!

Premium saltiness crackers

My name is Shelly. Since I was a little girl I've eaton unsalted premium crackers. My mom first started with the salted tops and quickly went to unsalted until a few years ago. The trendy, zesty, cheesy, flavorful cracker is not what a lot people want. They want plain, simple, and yes, bland tasting cracker that other foods can go on top of and can shine and make a delicious statement. However, for some reason you changed the recipe and not just the switch from salt to sea salt is it. You've changed the whole recipe to the point where the texture, taste, and foundation of the cracker has changed. It breaks apart easily and taste horribly. The closest I've come to a cracker tasting like yours use to taste is by Keebler oyster soup crackers. Please find a way to return the taste, flavor, and heartier cracker like before. I'm not sure if "heartier" is the right word, but hopefully you'll know what I mean (so it won't break apart). The only thing I can think of is that you along with other cracker companies were including some ingredient in the recipe that was harmful to consumers and you had to take it out for health reasons like Trans fats and gluten. I'm sure if you put your heads together to remedy this sad issue you could. And, stop coming up with new zestier flavored crackers. Go back to basics and get your foundation money maker back up and running again. This is the cracker that started you off or at least close to the first. What's alll most consumers want is a great tasting, not buttery, plain cracker that make other foods like cheese, peanut butter and jelly, dips, and meats taste great. Its been years now, what say you. Will you do something about it?
Thank you and I hope someone is listening.

"Saltines" not salty

I have noticed that the Premium Saltines are no longer "salty" and I cannot see any reason to buy them again. I thought maybe it was my imagination, but it is not. Without salt their name should be changed.

saltine crackers

a very weird chemical (maybe like glue?) taste and smell for a box of saltines I opened today. I got someone else to try as well and they agreed.

Saltine crackers

the crackers have an extremely strong chemical taste. I opened the packet fresh today and could not eat them. The taste and smell is chemical- perhaps like a glue smell?

Nanosecond saltines

I have noticed over the last few YEARS that Saltines taste different and turn bad really quickly. The chemical odor they exude is horrible, foul and I'm sure cancer causing TOXIC! I kept trying them and thought it was something I was doing. I changed storage containers, cabinets, where I bought them, but they always go bad. I decided to check online to see if anyone else experienced this. WOW! Tons of complaints! Some people had severe reactions! I work in a hospital and we have the individually wrapped packages in the old cellophane type wrappers. I have never had those turn bad or taste funny even if a little stale. Nabisco should go back to the old original recipe AND the old original wax paper type packaging. I'm over 50 and ate a lot of Saltines in my life so my taste memory is very clear and they never used to do this. I remember eating many a stale one too and no foul taste/smell like nowadays. Also, put the darn salt back!

Nabisco saltines

I agree with other complaints above. There is a strange smell to them, crumbles very easy and taste weird. Will not be buying until I hear things have changed. My husband also noticed this and agrees. Not buying anymore.

Changing a good thing

I really don't care where a product is manufactured. While I would prefer it was made in the usa where it would support our citizens with jobs , business is business and who am I to say. I do however care very much when you take a product that people have relied on for decades and change it. I have eaten premium crackers for more than 40 years. I always knew what I would get. I, like others, thought I got a stale package or a bad batch. Unfortunately, that is untrue. Not only are they slightly smaller, they don't taste the same, they don't have the same consistency and they basically stink. I will never by another box of these crackers unless it is clearly stated that nabisco has gone back to the original recipe.

Saltines Original

I took a cracker out and was excited for the crispy, salty cracker. I hadn't had them in a long time. I immediately thought I bought low sodium or something. It was not crispy nor salty. Then saw it was the Sea Salt recipe. So I thought I would go out and find the true Original only to find out...this is the only one out there. And reading this forum I realize I will be looking for a different brand.

Saltines

On one hand I'm glad it isn't just me but on the other hand I'm really bummed. I have eaten Nabisco saltines my entire life and loved them. I the past year or two I've noticed a strong musty smell an a gross taste. I threw out the first box like this and keep hoping it's a bad batch but they haven't gotten any better. I hope I can find another brand.

Worm found in cracker

I was eating the saltine.crackers with my soup and after eating about 6 crackers the next one out of the sleeve had a green with black strips worm in a brown pocket of the cracker, I threw the entire box in the garbage. I bought the crackers less than a week ago at Walmart. I thought you might want to know about this.

RITZ, No Longer The Go To

What is going on with this staple cracker. Can't do anything with it, it crumbles just trying to get it out of the sleeve, let alone try to spread something on it, can't even hold a slice of cheese. Plus you went from 4 sleeves a box, to 3, for more money. Has management even tried one in the last 2 years. I refuse to serve these, can't do anything with them, the bottoms are white. My 3 third box, 3 stoked you're out. Get some quality control in place. Try spreading peanut butter on there, impossible!!!!

Saltines changed?

Been loving premium saltines for 30 years, They have never been the exact same at different times of the year. (I heard they have problems with humidity at certain times of the year)
Anyway I love the slightly browned ones, crispy. If I get an 'edge' stack my family knows its mine and if we get a corner stack (2 brown edges on each cracker) Well that is cherished like a delicacy.

But now this is not the normal yearly change these new ones are completely crumbly, fall apart and taste horrible. Even worse than the off brands I used to not like.
If this is the new "normal" wow going to be looking for a new brand.

poor quality crackers lately

Nabisco Saltines, Premium oyster crackers and Ritz used to taste so good. They still have the premium price, but as of today I will not buy them any more. They don't taste good any more. Must be the bottom line. Are they made in China now, or with Chinese ingredients?

Nabisco Preimium Saltines

As others have stated these crackers are terrible. The last several boxes I have had to throw away. I had purchased six boxes at one time as I use them in soups, chili, and for general snacking.
They had a dirty fish aquarium smell when open that assaulted my nose. On the off chance that perhaps I was smelling something else from outside I tasted a few. they had absolutely no taste at all, until a few seconds after chewing them and swallowing. Then the aftertaste hit. It was what I would imagine turpentine would taste like.
These are the worst cracker I have ever had.
I thought spending a little more for name brand would be better quality. I was wrong!

Premium Saltine Crackers

I have eaten these crackers for years but in the past year or so they are just not the same. They seem thinner, don't have as much taste and the tops do not have the medium brown color they use to have. I loved the old ones that had that little bit darker to them and the taste was also better. This is the first time I have every complained about a food product!

Thin Ritz crackers

I just done reading a bunch of complaints about your products. Well Dahhhh, do something about it. Your Ritz crackers suck. They are so thin you cannot put peanut butter on them without them crumbling in your hand. We have a comemorative metal container we got years ago full of Ritz crackers. Now they lack 2 inches of reaching the top of the container. Really sorry. Price goes up and the quallity goes down. Yes, I said QUALLITY. Really sorry. It's a shame that you have so many complaints and I have not seem one turn around in your product. You know, KEEBLERS makes some really good crackers and cookies. I'm really thinking it is time to get rid of the Ritz and take on the KEEBLERS.............

Premium Saltines

My son bought me a box of Premium Saltines last weekend because I was sick and asked him to go to the store and get me some crackers. What happened to these crackers? The taste is just awful! I put them aside, thinking the terrible taste was because I was sick. Well, it's 3 days later and I decided to try again. Awful! Just Awful. What has happened?? I've been eating these since I was a little kid and now I'm going to have to change brands? I really hate doing that.

shorted crackers

I have been eating the Nabisco Premium Saltine Crackers for several years and recently I found that the 4 packs of crackers are not filled to the same level as the others by several crackers. The remaining 3 packs I had left weighed 3.5, 4.7, 5.1. A huge difference between 3.5 and 5.1. I even took a picture of them I was so surprised. I wonder how long I've been shorted on the crackers and will probably discontinue purchasing them.

weird taste

We threw away a box without looking at the expiration, thinking they had got hot or exposed to something at the market, because the crackers had a weird sweet, plastic-y taste. Bad news was the next box we just purchased tasted the same, plus the 2-cracker packets we get from Chic-fil-a this the last two weeks also now have that taste and got thrown away. Booo - might have to start looking for a new brand, even though this one has been my favorite for life.

Nabisco Premium Saltines

I opened the package of crackers and was hit with a minty, menthol, chemical smell. The crackers taste ok, but not as good as they usually do.

Saltine Crackers smell like Chemicals

I just opened a package of Nabisco Saltine crackers and was hit by the smell of chemicals. I'm not sure if it is from the plastic wrapping of the crackers or the crackers themselves. In any case, I am throwing the entire box away. Very disappointed in Nabisco for allowing such a poor product to make it to the store shelves.

Premium Saltine Crackers (Square)

Premium saltine crackers are not the same. I have eaten these crackers since the 1960's, yet the texture and flavor has changed (stale tasting). They also get soggy in soup a lot faster than they used to. Changing an award winning product to this crap recipe forced me to go to another comparable product that holds up to soup better, and tastes fresh. The move to Mexico is also making me stop buying all Nabisco products. You slapped America in the face with the jobs crap to please your stock holders. Shame on you. You lost a formerly loyal customer of near 60 years.
