NTTA double billing

For the last 8 months I have been going round and round with NTTA on them billing me for charges on the toll roads here in Dallas even though I have a TEXTAG account and tag in my truck. I have paid over three hundred dollars to NTTA just to pay for these fraudulent charges so they wouldn't turn me over to their in house collection agency. I have much proof of the billing both from textag billing invoices and NTTA billing invoicing showing that I am getting charged on my textag account which comes out directly from my bank account in 40 dollar increments as needed and through NTTA for the same travel. I have tried to present all the invoices and info to NTTA but they say my problem is with textag not them even though I have a textag account not an NTTA account, and they refuse to even see the evidence or talk about it at all. I have had several conversations with the textag people in Austin and sent them all the invoices and proof by fax several times and still have received another bill from NTTA yesterday , valentines day for another toll bill plus late charges to the tune of 193.38? What amazes me is that not one government official that I have found or heard about is on the bandwagon trying to get this cluster&^%k agency taken care of or even doing something to help the very taxpayer voters who put these chickenS$1T politicians in office on this ordeal many of us are having to deal with from a government agency! I heard a news report from a Dallas news agency that so many people were having problems with the NTTA that there was some way to dispute the claims and get their money back, but never heard where when to go to find that help, I am still trying to find that out. If anyone knows how to do this please let me know. Would really like to get my money back and fix the problem with the NTTA for good. Thanks [email protected]

Never received notices

I received a notice late January 2015 from NTTA that totaled $40.72 for toll fees that were $5.72. They added $10 administrative fees + $25 for second notice. I called them as I never received any notices from them. This is a way to get money from people. I told them I did not receive any notices, they said they sent them & they have a tracking system. I asked how do they track, I did not receive certified mail. I read many complaints about this agency that they say this, which means nothing. I always pay my tolls. The invoice didn't even have the dates or location of tolls.

When I called the two people that I spoke with were rude, particularly the first "customer service" woman. I wish I would have asked for her name & information. She sent me to her supervisor, who was no help at all. They said I was sent to collections, which is not true because the paperwork says if it was sent to collection I'd be charged an additional $29.

THIS government sanctioned agency is a scam. I contacted the representative of Plano that was highlighted in an article that registered concerns about the high fees & so many have complained about the same problem I have. I am worried about EVER traveling to Dallas again! I love Texas, I cannot believe this scam is happening. Someone needs to stand up to them!

NTTA FEES

I recieved a call today about a NTTA balance of over $200, I current have a positive blance on my NTTA account of $6.87. NTTA told me on 11/3 I had a negative balance of .68.. My card was on file and they said they couldn't charge my card for .68(which my checking account had more than enough funds, even if it didn't I have $1000 over draft protection) but 5 days later they took out $40. I spoke with a MANAGER tiffany and she said she couldn't do anything, even though the whole collection case didn't make sense... Now .68 became over $200 in fees!!!! This doesn't make any sense!!! Tiffany explained that once they can't charge my card they send out a letter and somehow get split from the current NTTA account... It's the same account, this is just a sneaky way to be able to charge fees!!! THIS HAS TO STOP.. THIS HAS TO BE AGAINST THE LAW..ABOVE EVERYTHING THE ONLY CORRESPONDENCE I RECIEVED WAS THAT I OWED $3 AND CHANGE AND THAT IS WHY I MADE A PAYMENT OF $10 AND HAVE A CREDIT BALANCE NOW.....

NTTA

My credit card was charged $40 for the auto rebill, as is standard when it gets to the $10.00 threshold on the toll tag. The next thing I know, I get an email stating that they are unable to charge my card for toll tag use. I had not even been on the toll way during that time. I checked to make sure my tag was still in the vehicle and then went on line to my account. It showed a negative balance of (.40) I called NTTA and asked what happened to the $40 auto rebill payment. They said there was some balance from 2013 on my toll tag account and the payment was applied to that balance. I requested a copy of the invoice and to speak to a supervisor. Nobody ever came back to the phone, nor was I provided with an invoice.

Two days later, I added just $20 to my toll tag account. Same thing happened. The money disappeared, even when I had NOT been on the toll way whatsoever, leaving my toll tag in the negative. I called again and the same thing happened. Asked to speak with a supervisor and no one ever came back to the phone.

This is pure fraud and scam combined. I pulled the toll tag out of my car and listed a credit card with zero available balance on my NTTA account. They will not steal any more of my money. I will indeed use alternative routes and avoid the toll roads period. Let the Class Action Law Suit against NTTA commence immediately! If people don't stand up to this tyranny, it will only get worse.

Falsely sent to collections

We have purchased 3 new vehicles in the past 2 years, each time we drive to dealership to pick vehicle up we call NTTA advise of temporary tag number and drive it home, then when plates are in we update our NTTA info online. I purchased new truck few months ago and did exactly what we always do, however this time NTTA charged us $6 in tolls that never hit my toll tag account and was never sent billing for the charges. I receive today a letter from a collection agency for $69.86! NTTA will not discuss with me even after I told them I called them the day we got vehicle. The NTTA rep said to me "we are a government agency so your complaint will go nowhere with me"!! I asked for a manager or their legal department and again she says same statement! REALLY??? 12 years of good standing and payment history with them and I have called NTTA twice in past 2 months to update CC info and never once did they mention this $6....oh what a tangled web we weave.

Tolls

We are continually receiving collection notices, phone calls ect in reference to toll charges that were included in our bankruptcy chapter 7. We informed them that we discharged all tolls in bankruptcy along with the courts notified them too. They are still selling debt to collection agencies. We have been hung up on we have sent the discharge papers and now we are thinking we will have to sue if they continue to collect on a discharged debt.

No bills, just a collection notice

I got a 300.00 bill from a collection agency. I was told the bill was from April. The awesome thing is I have been 400 miles away since May. I had my address changed, and all left over mail forwarded until they sent my mail to the correct address. I never received a bill from the tollway. I just received this collection notice, this September. NTTA does nothing to work with you, I think they do not really send out the notices. They said since it was sent to A address, then a notice was sent, regardless of it it is the right address, or if you ever get the notice. They are some real low life fkers. I did not even drive the car, so I had no idea when it was going through the tollway, but since its registered to me, it is completely okay to screw me.

zip cash--it is not customers' problem

I am a txtag customer and I got a zip cash invoice from NTTA.
I called NTTA. They told me on that day, they could not read my tag, and had to send me a zipcash invoice. They told to me that
it is TXtag's problem and I should contact them. I complained that when NTTA's reader can not read txtag's tag, the two company should work together and get it resolved, instead of punishing the customers. The lady said she convery my message to their management.
Then I called txtag. They said it is NTTA's reader that can not read. I told them the same thing, that the two companies should work together to get it resolved.

ZipCash charges when i have a toll tag

I received about 2 months of zip charges in the mail. I have toll tags and they are paid automatically. I contacted ntta but we as consumers do not have any recourse or way to confirm or deny these allogations. They had a simple picture of some letters and numbers but nothing that actually looked like a license plate. If they took that while i was going 70 then they have some serious cameras. I ended up having to pay the zipcash rate and NOT the regular toll rate even though my tag was charged the rates before and after this zip cash period of errors. Would make it better if they would get off this gestapo tactic and quit strong arming the citizens. I feel i was treated as a criminal in a 3rd world country. Guilty without a trial! NTTA needs to back down a bit and admit that their system is not perfect and does make mistakes and then work with the customers.

We are ALL GUILTY occording to the nice people at the NTTA!!!

Out of State Vehicle

I am a student at University of Texas at Arlington. I moved away from Texas in 2006 at that time one was able to pay as you go through the tolls. Upon arriving back in 2010 I discovered that there were no cash booths left, I even pulled over to stop at one of the stations that are located on the tollroads and asked how doI pay cash and was instructed that option was no longer avaiable. My vehicle is registered out of state. Once i recieved the bills almost 4 months later all kinds of admin fees and late fees were added because I lived on campus my father in Louisiana recieved all these bills at once. The bills with fees totaled over $3,000 dollars and the actual bill totaled less than 200 dollars. When i called the customer service department The rude gentleman said "well maybe you need to get your vehicle registered in this state." I am a convicted felon but this organization is clearly criminal. There is no way that you should be allowed to conduct business like this. I believe the correct term is extortation.

Excessive fees

I moved to Texas in late 2011. I bought a toll tag and religiously added money to it. When it showed I owed money or was near 0 balance, I would add more money, including the money it showed that I owed. I never realized that the extra invoices were not being paid!

In 2013, when I received my tax return, I had a couple hundred dollars that I could use to pay the toll tag fees. Had I been allowed to only pay the actual fees without the administrative fees, I would have been able to pay for every single outstanding invoice at that time. The collection agency said they were not allowed to do that, that I had to pay everything -- which obviously I could not do. I paid a couple of the invoices and the rest remain outstanding.

Fast forward 2 years, and I have thousands of dollars in fees because those separate invoices were never paid according to them. I now cannot go online and pay the invoices that are new without having to "select" one of the older invoices to pay. But when I select ONE of the old invoices to pay, it selects ALL of them, which is hundreds of dollars. I cannot get around that in the system, and therefore the two-dollar invoices don't get paid -- and they are eventually assessed the "administrative costs".

The other issues is, I have 2 vehicles in my name but I only drive one. My daughter "owns" and drives the other vehicle. When she took over the vehicle. In 2013, I contacted NTTA to see about putting the toll tag for that vehicle in her name. I was told by NTTA that they could not separate it out unless ALL of the fees were paid on both vehicles first (thousands of dollars). So I continue to accrue fees in my name that now are not necessarily mine.

For someone that makes literally minimal money and who avoids the toll roads like the plague, it is financially overwhelming and extremely frustrating to continue to be assessed these fees without being able to get ahead of the situation. I cannot afford to drive a vehicle in north Texas. And being told there is a possibility of warrants being issued and my car being impounded because of unpaid invoices -- further hampering my ability to go to work and make money -- is oppressive and is an unjust use of power.

billing

I have 3 cars that used the toll roads. Eventually I got behind on paying them, so I'd pay when I could and quit using the toll roads. I was considered a habitual offender on one of my vehicles. I would get bills from collection agency as well at NTTA that included outrageous fees. I called the collection agency and asked if I could make payment arrangements. They told me "No" that I would have to pay all in full. I called NTTA and asked if they could remove the fees and if I could make payment arrangements to them and they said "No" that I had to pay all in full plus fees. Yet on their website in the FQA's it says violators could make payments arrangements. Now my registration is blocked and owe more in fees than I do in tolls!!
Also, in going over all my bills, I noticed I was charged for 3 days of using the tolls and we weren't in town. AND the car the tolls were charged to was out of town with us!!! I called to dispute this and they told me to send proof we were 'out of town'. REALLY?? I was also charged for a vehicle that I had sold and sent them the receipt of it being to and to who and they told me I needed to call the DMV and get proof that I sold it.. The receipt IS PROOF and they wouldn't take it..
The toll roads should be removed! To pay to sit in traffic is insane!! To charge the outrages fees shows how money hungry they are. I admit I got behind on paying the bills, but quit using the tolls once that happened. I continue to pay what I can but doesn't seem to matter when the fees are continuing to rack up. If one can't pay the tolls how do they expect one to pay the tolls AND the fees. This company says they'll work with people to get them paid but they don't.
NTTA should have kept the toll booths throughout texas. This way if people don't have the money to pay it, then they're forced not to take the toll.

NTTA

I received a bill in July, 2014 for a toll that was incurred in February, 2013. It was for a car that I had donated to charity before the date of the toll, so I sent a copy of the tax document showing when the car was picked up from me. I got a snippy reply-- "The toll was from 2013, not 2014." Clearly I knew that, so I emailed back for them to recheck the date on the document. I heard nothing back so thought everything was okay. The next month I get a bill THREE TIMES the amount of the original. (Really-- they take SIXTEEN MONTHS to send me the initial bill, but I pay three times the price if I don't pay it in ONE month-- even if the charge was legit, that is insane.) I have resent the document electronically and by snail mail. They never answer the phone, so I have included in my emails requests for a supervisor to call me. So far nothing. I am afraid I am going to keep being charged fees, and I have no idea how to fight this except to start complaining in every forum I can find.

Let's start a class action!

I just received a bill for $564 for charges ranging from 2007-2010. I know for a fact that I have paid any invoice I received in the mail. I am the only person in my home to check the mail and I know what I received. Conviently these charges are only $39 in true tolls, and a whopping $525 in administrative fees. One bill I calculated the fee to be 96%. I want to know if anyone knows the statue of limitations on billing in Texas. Also I want to point out that my 2010 invoice is in legal action, however my 2007 invoice is only on 2nd notice of non payment, then I have 2012 invoices on 1st notice. Excuse me but, shouldn't these all be in legal action? According to the lovely legend on my bill, I have 120 days to pay before legal action starts on NTTA's part. It even says above each invoice how past due it is, and it is completely incorrect. It is obvious that they have major computer issues, if they have invoices that are so clearly marked wrong on past due time frames. Who want's to join a class action law suit with me? How do we do it? I will start some research. Meanwhile, email me if you are interested. [email protected]

Wont provide me with an invoice

I am concerned about a collection notice that I received from NTTA dated back to 2012. I called the collection company to get more information and all they asked me was how I would like to pay? I then contacted the NTTA and they are saying they cant tell me or provide me anything because it has been forwarded to the collection agency. Don't I have a right to an invoice? I don't even own this car anymore. The part I am most concerned about is that I have been billed and have paid on 8 other bills in the last two years, yet that amount was never included. What are my rights? Don't I have a right to the invoice I supposedly never paid? It just seems shady to me. I live way north so I dont use the tollway regularly. Any advice???

Bill received from 2 1/2 years ago

We received a bill from NTTA for an unpaid toll fee. We have a toll tag that has money in the account, so I called. It appears that this is for 2 toll fees in May of 2012. We were charged a $10 fee for not paying this fee earlier, but after more research they discovered that we did add the car to our toll tag account before driving it, but because their system takes 3-5 days to go into affect, they show it as unpaid. Convenient that the website is down and I have to take NTTA's word for it. Are you kidding me?!!! This is the second of these statements that we have received - the other for a car that is no longer in our name. I'm not feeling very confident with NTTA bookkeeping right now!

Bill for 2013 to Present

Just got a toll bill from 3/2013 until present. I never moved or changed my address until April 2014 and moved within the same Apartment Complex also notified post office and all my mail is forwarded correctly. Received a bill Friday 8/15/2014 for $290.97 for tolls from 3/2013 until present. No Late Fees but expect me to come up with almost $300...... The only thing they will do is an extension but get this I can not make partial payment and I can not pay online or I will get late fees. In otherwords I only have their word I have an extension. No way to block the system letting them know I am to pay by November.

These people system is totally screwed up. Of course they offered me to buy a toll tag...no thank you since they are on the news for taking too much out of peoples checking accts and not returning it for months.

I am over 50 years old on a near fixed income and this is an awful way to do anyone. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE!!!!

not getting notices

My daughter received an invoice in the amount of $834 for tolls in July 2013 through Jan 2014. She received another for tolls April 2012 through May 2012 for $8.31. Received another invoice for 2012 in 2014 for $8.05 and paid over $150 in administrative fees. That's right! These invoices are almost 2 years old! These invoices were never received nor have we received past due notices which they claim were delivered. The representative kept talking over me like she'd already heard these complaints and kept telling me that the post office assures them that invoices are delivered. It's in their system that they were delivered and the post office is reliable and delivers all mail. BS! I was also told that they send them every month. BS! Why can't they send these out when they're supposed to? If there is ever a class action suit filed against the NTTA, I'll be the first in line!

Please bring back pay as you go! Ugh!

Fees/no solution

Do you guys not see that there seems to be nothing anyone can do about NTTA? Around and around we all go - complain on forums; on the internet. We are getting nowhere. It will take an all out protest at NTTA- get some media on this. Put some congressman under fire... Someone please do this...

NTTA says they can't do anything because a collection agency has the fees...so you go to collection agency IN THE SAME ROOM with NTTA in Plano. In fact, saw a lady who was helping us that was with NTTA- switch positions and worked the collections booth!! I'm thinking about using the cease and desist approach with this NTTA collection agency... Then call a senator to help.

Billed after 11 months

I have another example of where the NTTA billed us for a charge that occurred 11 months ago. This is ridiculous that they take 11 months to send a bill and expect payment. I called their customer service and the worker told me that there "aint no statue of limitations" for NTTA charges.

NTTA seems to have adopted the identical practice that Blockbuster video deployed. I feel joy every time I see a closed Blockbyster and will feel the same when NTTA gets replaced.

Late fees for a bill from 2 years ago that I never received

I have paid my ZipCash bills on time, every time because I hate administrative fees and I've read the horror stories from people that had an original bill for $20 and ended up with a bill in the thousands because thay hadn't paid or didn't receive a bill. I never wanted to get caught up in that quagmire of red tape. Imagine my surprise when I receive a $5.16 bill with a $47.14 unpaid balance. I looked at my bank records, I'd paid every bill on time ( they are few and far between so no tolltag ), where did this $47.14 balance come from? I try calling customer service but I keep getting a busy signal, all damn day a busy signal. I write them an e-mail about it saying that I have no idea what this bill is and I'm not paying it. I get a response, over a week later, telling me it's for an unpaid bill from 2012. WHAT? This is the first I've heard or seen anything about an unpaid balance. I have received bills from them for the last 2 years, never a balance anywhere for anything unpaid. So it goes to show, no matter how careful you are paying on time you'll still get screwed by NTTA. Probably the reason their customer service line is always busy is because so many people are getting the same run around. Other than NTTA, who do you complain to?

Toll Fees NOT MINE

I am getting toll fees that are not mine. I haven't driven through Dallas area in over 10 years. NTTA keeps reading the liscence plate incorrectly and they keep charging me for tolls. The last picture they sent me was of a new Toyota Camry. The car they are trying to charge to is my 58 Chevelle. They keep mistaking an "N" for a "H". I have called them and they agreed that the number was incorrectly read, yet I keep getting bills. I AM NOT PAYING FOR THE TOLLS! I am worried if I simply ignore ths problem, it will some point this will affect my credit, of which is excellent. I called Williamson County and they confirmed I was the only liscence plate in Texas with that number they are charging to, but again, it's not me. At this point, I feel like NTTA is harrassing me and I don't know how to get this to stop. NEED HELP!
