I submitted all my documents on the 17th March 2021for mertenity and later that month I got an sms that my application has been declined then went back to check then was told that everything is fine on the system. I checked today status has not changed it still says not approved although I went back to department of labour to check what's the problem. 5 months later and no UIF payment
i submitted my UIF claim on the 22/10/2020
i have been following up since then, every time i follow up there is a different issue or i am told to wait for the UIF to contact me.
At one stage i was advised to do a continuation of benefits, which i questioned as i had not received any benefits, i was told that is what i have to do, which i did.
on my most recent call to the UIF call center, the agent advised that i should not have do a COB and that my documents had still not been captured an that she will escalate it again and i must wait a further 21 days.
I have been paying UIF religiously for nearly 9 years, why should i have to wait for 5 months? my situation is desperate.

UIF application
I lost my job November 2020 and I don't have any income and I have 3 kids that I have to take care off. On the 3rd of December 2020 I applied for UIF (unemployment insurance fund), they said I'll get a feedback after 35 days. After 35 days I had no communication from them and I called them only to find out that my application was captured, they took all my documents that they requested by misplaced them and never captured. I went again first week of January 2021 , they captured it and I received an SMS to confirm my application was captured. I called again first week of march and they told me I will receive my money after a week but now its month end of March and I havent received any communication or any money , its been 3 months now , I have kids to feed and I have an accomodation to pay or we will end up on the streets.

Maternity Benefit not received
Good Day
I have applied for my UIF Maternity benefit in 01 September 2020 and I have received an SMS on the 04 September 2020 stating that my UIF Claim is received and progress on claim will be communicated within 35 day. 35 days passed and nothing happened. Then I went back to department of Labour ( Maponya Mall Branch) on the 05 of October 2020, the consultant that was assisting me told me that the money will be in my account after two weeks. Two week passed and nothing happened, then I went back again on the 26 October 2020.they told me the same story again money will be in my account after 2 weeks. 2 weeks passed nothing happened, I went back again on the 16th of November 2020 this time I was told that money will be in my account before 10 December 2020. 10th December passed and nothing happened. I went back again on the 15th of December then I was told that my money will be in my account before 24th of December and nothing happened and I went back again on the 5th of January 2021, and went back again on the 18th of January 2021 then the Consultant said that I Have to submit company reference letter . I went on the 20 of January 2021 with the reference letter, and that day I was assisted by the ladies name Jacky and she told me that I don’t have to submit the reference letter she will check what is the problem with my application and get back to me. My maternity leave ended on the 4th of January and I’m already taking day offs due to the Department of Labour and I did not receive not even a single cent from my UIF. And I had to struggle for the whole 4 months without a pay and I have been working very hard for that money. I need that money, I have to pay my accounts and I had to borrow money to buy food and catch 2 x taxi from where I’m staying to Maponya mall to check what is happening with my money. and now the worse part is that we have to make appointment 1st to visit the labour department. can somebody please help me. my contact number is 0783052227

Siyaya Status - Not Approved/Refused
I applied for UIF in September 2020 after being forced to retire. My claim was rejected with - Siyaya Status - Not Approved/Refused - have no idea why and what that even means. I contributed PAYE and UIF all my working life and only claimed for maternity benefits 30 years ago. When phoning the answer is always the same - will escalate - and nothing happens
.why am I not being paid ? 3 African work colleagues who also retired are already receiving their benefits...… why am I not getting my benefits that I paid for for YEARS ?
I have logged an appeal case no : 30005718753 in December and nothing is been communicated back at all

Siyaya Status - Not Approved/Refused
I applied for UIF in September 2020, my claim was rejected - Siyaya Status - Not Approved/Refused - have no idea why or what this means ... trying to speak to the people on the phone is absolutely pathetic all they say is they will escalate...…. I did dispute this online and am still awaiting a resolution. I paid UIF all my working life up until the end of September when I was forced to retire.
I only ever claimed (30 years) ago for maternity...… WHY AM I NOT GETTING MY UIF, 3 african people who worked with me and also retired are receiving there UIF already ……… Something is not right here..... nobody seems to care about their clients.

Unpaid Deceased Claim
To whom it may concern
During 2020 amidst the Lockdown, when the Department offices resumed their services. I was informed by my late husband's Employer that I could claim spousal benefits as per Deceased claim. Due to his Employer and our place of residence being in Johannesburg, all our communication was submitted electronically, however the claim in itself was processed at
The nearest office closet to me in Phoenix. The documents were sent timeously from the Employer, submitted on the 12 November 2020. The office then asked that I return to their offices 6 weeks later, yet the 17 December came and once again one has to wait in a que to yet again give repetitive details as this claim could not be completed on the website.
The contact number at the customer care was given to me asof the 8th January, spoke with Bongani. His line was very unclear, he suggested that one needs to again go directly to the nearest office.
There was also an email communicated with Mr Mkhize and Mr Greg Pillay and yet to this day 14 January 2021. No answer as to when the claim will be finalized as I know for a fact the details given were as per request and all compliant.
The service levels are not under question but rather the process of handling sensitive issues when claiming for such benefits.
I am nothing short of appauled as I have been continually receiving the same reply, however according to the Department these claims should be duly paid out provided there are no documents missing.
I would kindly like to ask that if possible, when will my late spouses benefits be paid in, it has been 3 months, ie 90 days with no completion. Surely there must be some urgency towards this claim. In all due respects I have been more than patient but enough is enough.
We also need to survive especially during Covid-19.

NON PAYMENT OF UIF CLIM
I have uploaded the documents several times and as per my Profile my claim has still not been processed. I hve sent an email to [email protected],and [email protected]
I have sent an email on the 15th of Dec 2020 and still have received no feedback or payment.
i spoke to the customer section again and the lady said she can not give me a time frame and i must wait.
I struggled for 3 weeks just to get the link to upload my documents and i am aware your dept is under immense pressure with all the claims, but it is unfair to provide a response " i must wait".
I respectfully request that my claim be expedited urgently and feedback be provided.
Your kind assistance is appreciated,
Will you please attend to this urgently.

Outstanding Salary
Dear Sir/Madam
I worked at Highveld Secondary school last year (2019) as a Science and Maths teacher but the department of education was paying me R6000 instead of R24000 because they argued that they were awaiting the outcome of the evaluation of my qualifications. Up to now, they have not given me my outstanding salary. I have made numerous follow-ups with the HR in Ermelo, but they have failed to help me. Please assist me to get the outstanding salary that I worked for.
My name is Stephen Tidi and my persal number is 85058548.

Maternity Benefits not paid
My name is Carmen Titus , ID Number 8904280100087 and I have applied for my maternity benefits as of 14 May 2020. I'm not sure when my employer applied for the TERS for me but my maternity kicked in on the 11 May 2020. I was assisted by one of the UIF consultants and I'm very happy with her assistance, my only issue is that I'm not sure what does the Ters have to do with my maternity leave?
According to what I have been told, there is an application but no payment was made. I was really hoping that I could get assistance to cancel that application from your system. I have been asking my employer but he seems not to know how to do this, please try and assist me. I'll really appreciate it.

Claim Rejected
I was retrenched at the end of March 2020 and I submitted my claim to UIF in April 2020
I have not received any payments nor communication from the Department of Labour, until Friday 9th Oct 2020 when I received an SMS from the Department of Labour informing me that my claim had been rejected.
The SMS did not offer a reason, so I do not know what is expected of me to rectify the problem
My UIF contributions are up to date and I am therefore entitled by law to my claim
I have emailed various employees of the DOL with no response at all
How do I resolve this

Service
This is the second time I'm at Randburg Department of Labour.
The service is horrible
When you pragnant you in the que since 04.00, the securities are doing an excellent job but the staff inside WOWi don't know what to say, even worse the lady who works with martenity claims.
We get ushered in 07.30 she only starts working way after 08.30 and the only thing she does is returning back for just minor nonsensical reasons.
Somebody should deal with this department, it shouldn't be this way
