Colorful Lead Roles

I am a huge fan of Hallmark movies. I've watch this channel for years because they are do positive and uplifting. One thing that has always been on mind is the lack of people of color in the lead role. There are some that have been cast as the best friend, assistant, or agent, but none in the lead role. I really think the viewers would enjoy seeing some diversity in your movies because it portrays what we see in real life. Please seriously consider having people of color in these lead roles.

Thanks!

Movie sets

I have to agree with rushfan2112. Your outdoor sets look ridiculous with snow on the sidewalks and people dressed in heavy winter outfits, all the while the trees in the background and even forefront have green leaves. There is one where there is a Salvation Army type santa standing on a sidewalk with snow an his hat is actually in the green leaves of the tree he's standing in front of. Come on.

Diversity

I really don't like seeing people of color in a town that I know is all-white. Please tone down the diversity in your programming and make it consistent with the real world. When a show takes place in a big city, that's one thing, but when it's a small town that is supposedly all white, it just takes away from the realism and pure/genuine nature of the town, that's just heart-wrenching.

Horrifying Commercial

The Hallmark Channel has been the only place for me to be able to watch television during this horrible political climate. However, apparently as of today, this is no longer the case. Why on God's green Earth would The Hallmark Channel run that shocking ad for the PURSUIT CHANNEL showing men using high-powered rifles and maneuvering dead deer and other wildlife that they have killed. This was a truly horrifying ad to have to see and it happened so unexpectedly that I couldn't turn it off and couldn't turn away since it was right in front of me. This is a truly disappointing development and Hallmark have now officially lost me as a viewer.

Diversity/Change

I enjoy Hallmark Channel movies. I would really like to see more diversity. I'm an African American woman who enjoy watching different ethnic groups put their talent to use. I'm not necessarily interest in just seeing black people (every thing isn't black vs white) I love and embrace people of all colors, types and nationalities. I think the company should cast other people for leading roles as well. Again the movies are great but at the same token they are pretty typical and predictable. I also believe change is good and beneficial.

Diversity

I would like to start by saying, I absolutely love the Hallmark channel. I love the nonstop Christmas movies around this time of year. My complaint, however, is the lack of diversity in the lead roles. I have watched this channel all day long and have only seen people of color as personal assistants, bodyguards, and other sidekick roles, not one was a leading role. As much as I love the movies and the channel as a whole, the lack of diversity bothered me, and made me wonder why....other than that, I am a fan and would love to continue to be.....please take into consideration that your viewers would like to see someone that looks like them happy, successful, loving, intelligent, moral, and kind as well as the lead.

Christmas movies

I've noticed that you've been filming your Christmas movies in the summer time. It's obvious because I can clearly see green leaves on the trees and flowers blooming too. It's awfully sunny out and the actors and actresses are sweating. You didn't fool me

Can't hear over the music

I watch hallmark movies all the time but about to give up because the music is louder than the actors speaking so why watch them:(. My cousins and friends feel the same way. Please try to fix this!

No Walton's

I use to watch Hallmark everyday. Loved the Walton's. Yes for three straight hours. Not anymore. They have replaced it with a guy named Tim. For three straight hours. Oh this same guy is on other channels same reruns. If Comcast aired INSP I could watch the Walton's. I guess the logical thing to do. is buy the series on DVD. Hallmark could at least be generous enough to air one show a day. Then they would only have to air two hours of Tim. Please Hallmark consider those of us who are having Walton withdraws. God Bless Ralph W.

A few on the list above are available on UP, they seem to get the whole "diversity" thing.

26 and 27 are great movies, but not "Hallmark-ish"

Merry Christmas!!!!

Home and Family

I have watched Home & Family for a couple of years. This year, when you fired Christina I was very upset. She was my favorite on the show, although Mark is a close second. I gave it a try watching Debbie, but I can't do it. I really can't stand watching her. She is fake and her style is so forced that it's uncomfortable to watch her. But I tuned in yesterday since I was sick and "grounded". Kim was the host and she was wonderful. Like Christina, she is natural and genuine. Please consider making Kim the host of the show and many of us will start watching again. In the past, I recorded the program every day so I didn't miss a thing. I would like to do that again because there is so much good information on this program, but just won't do it if I have to watch Debbie.

lack of closed captioning on Hallmark Channels

To whom it may concern,
Our family member really loves your Hallmark shows and movies so we added it to the package we ordered from Sling TV.
She is hearing impaired and when we got it all hooked up for her and attempted to initiate the closed captioning it would not work.
This is so disappointing . The other channels closed captioning works but the ones she really wants to watch--Hallmarks-- does not work! Please let me know when we can expect this to be corrected or are we missing a step somewhere that the other channels don't require.
Thank you.

Late night during the Holidays

I am a 33 year old single mom, and I look forward to tuning in to the Hallmark channel after 10pm (Central) to watch The Golden Girls and Frasier before I fall asleep. I also love to catch I Love Lucy if I wake up in the middle of the night and can't fall back to sleep. As a person with Seasonal Affective Disorder, I already have a hard time with the fall and winter, but it's especially hard when I can't watch my shows because the channel airs the corny, super cheesy Christmas movies all day and night for 2 months. I could understand if they were shown during prime time, but you guys change the whole lineup! P.S. I agree with the lack of diversity complaints, the complaints about the holiday movies that are Christmas-themed, predictable love stories, and I read a comment that said that Home & Family is gone- I'm SO glad you did that. I couldn't stand that show.

Lack of movies with people of color!

I have been watching Hallmark Christmas movies all season and it dawned on me that I have not seen ONE movie with a person of color in the staring role and bearly in a movie! Hallmark guess what; we celebrate Christmas too! I am going to post this complaint on every social media outlet that I subscribe to and ask all of my friends and family to boycott your channels until you cast us in your movies because we celebrate Christmas too!

Diversity

My complaint is NOT about the Hallmark Channel it is about the viewers that are obviously not paying enough attention to the channel to see the DIVERSITY in the programming. There are all types of families, characters and situations portrayed at Christmas time, and throughout the year in your programming. Perhaps if they opened their mind and paid attention, they would see this for themselves. Can't everyone just get along and stop making every single issue about diversity??

Holiday movies

I love count down to christmas. I look forward to. to it every year. My question is why does it take so long for some of the best ones to come out on dvd? You can't. Find them anywhere. For example. One starry christmas..help for the holidays. .to catch a christmas star. Unless I. Missed something you cannot buy these anywhere and then there are some that go straight to dvd so im forced to keep them on my dvr. Can you put all of your holiday movies on dvd so i can add them to my collection of favorites?

Lack of Diversity

Yearly, my daughter and I have a tradition of watching The hallmark channel during the holidays. We absolutely love the fact the shows are clean, full of hope, love and possibility! However, I have noticed the lack of diversity that exists in all the movies. There are no shows with a African American, Asian, or Hispanic lead. That's hard to believe in 2016, there "no" actors you can find with a background other than Caucasian. This worries me, especially with all the drama and hate that has infused itself into our society again. Why is there a lack of diversity? Is the CEO a member of a group that doesn't allow minorities? I have a lot of concerns that Hallmark doesn't look like our society. Please respond to this. Thank you and enjoy your holidays!

Lack of Diversity

Dear Hallmark,

My daughters and I LOVE the Hallmark channel. We are inspired by the family oriented movies and storylines. However, there is absolutely no people of color anywhere (well the occasional sidekick friend) in any movie we watch. It's one of the reasons my husband absolutely hates Hallmark movies. Our country is very diverse, with people of all shapes, sizes, race, creed and religious beliefs. Is it too much to ask that this diversity is seen in the movies you produce? People are people and love is love is love is love. No matter the color.

Hallmark movies

I did a google search, "why are Hallmark movies so white" and I didn't even have to finish the sentence. That tells me others have asked this question too. I love Hallmark for its peaceful and hopeful content. However, I am bothered by the whiteness of the shows. We live in a diverse country and lately the divisions are growing. Hallmark is not helping with its continual servings of upper middle class white people stories. We all need to see stories that reflect the variety of cultures and peoples we have in this country. We are becoming more and more divided and Hallmark can help to bring us together by giving us stories that include all of us.

Lacking Diversity

Dear Hallmark Channel:
I love your Christmas shows, they bring me an evening of stress free television. If only you woul bring people of color to the forefront. Is it not possible to find a Black, Latina, or someone other than Caucasian. Just for a change just one movie with a person who is brown, noticibly brown! Please. We all fall in love, I would like a broader representation. Thank you for your time.

Fix this!

Too many of the same actresses in lead roles,
Too many top company, big city themes, way too many white people (I'm white) it'd be nice to see some diversity. And what's with the color schemes?? Fuschia ruled one movie so much that I can't stand the color! Cmon Hallmark, Christmas is not just for big corporation big city white people who have trouble finding love.

NO MORE Alicia Witt !!!!!

Please, please, PLEASE!!!!! NO MORE ALICIA WITT in your Christmas Hallmark movies!!! And stop airing the ones you have! Seriously, her acting is so painful to watch!! I have to turn the channel every time she is on. What is up with the way she talks? Its like she doesnt know how to use her lips and jaw to speak. And that wide-eyed, staring look with a pout or frown. Why does she constantly act like an adult child? I find it totally unbelievable that ANY man would be attracted to a woman who is so annoyingly child-like with her speech and mannerisms. I must also say, in general, the quality of the Hallmark storylines have gotten pretty bad lately. I have also noticed the main characters are ALWAYS white, and the supporting characters black or asian. How about improving your storylines and giving us a main character that is not always white? FYI: I am a white woman.
